I actually typed up each procedure just the way you displayed, took about 30 minutes to prep for the job, and roughly 4.5 hours to complete. All 4 of my upper and lower Ball Joints were dust with 145K Miles on them. No Viagra or Cialis could save them 😂!! My symptoms were mainly in my steering, my fronts were fighting each other over ruts and grooves like crazy along with some clicking noise over bumps. Have to say, thanks to you, I had a flawless and easy repair, and these MOOG Upper and Lower Control Arms/Ball Joints make my TACO drive like a New Truck!! Thanks again, you guys ROCK!!!! 🇺🇸👊🏻👍🏻

Just installed the OME lift with JBA UCA's and did the needle bearing (watching tons of your vids lol), brought it to the dealer for alignment, they said driver side LCA is seized and $780 to replace it. I guess will be doing it myself. Thanks for great content man! cheers

Getting ready to do a 3 inch lift & suspension overhaul on my 2nd gen 🌮... toytec/bilstein 5100s, new leaf springs & upper/lower control arms... wish me luck
I was wondering the same thing about getting a neutral preload on the bushings. Would be very hard for those of us working in our driveway without a service lift. I was thinking when they do an alignment they "should" loosen each cam bolt, adjust, and re-torque while the vehicle weight is on it's wheels. That would reset the pre-load on the bushing, right? But I am not sure that every technician will loosen every cam bolt if they don't have too, so it's possible they skip it if the pre-reading on the alignment is close enough leaving you with a bushing that will have a lot of twist internally, and likely fail early. Am I way off on this?
Great video, subscribed. Getting ready to rebuild the front end on my 2017 tacoma. Having a hard time finding new cam bolts that are greaseable. Will those amazon bolts work for 3rd gen tacomas?

Awesome video, bro! Do you think I should change the cam bolts even though they don't look bad? 72000 miles FL, TX truck, so, very little rust :) I bought the oem LCAs and they come with the bushings, but not the cam bolts.
Spot on! Ide suggest a 5" zip man the sawsall just about put me to sleep lol. God damn salt! Any videos for frame restoration/preservation tips tricks ideas....?
That's a good idea w the zip tool. I have an overview video on products you can use. That video is called "the rundown: the infamous toyota frame recall"
KFlo, your are the MAN! Your video was just what I needed. I’m feeling sorta lucky to live in Oregon where they gravel the roads instead of salting them. I’ve got a 2005 and have some cosmetic rust but haven’t found any pitting or scale. I like that you cleaned up the rust and repainted it to protect your baby, though the corrosion wasn’t as bad as another LCA video where most of the suspension looked like it was just one big rusty piece. Looked like something found at an archeological site and I feel like so many layers of rust came off that it seems like the structural integrity of the components and frame were compromised. Is that something that could happen and would it be good to wash up the underside of our rigs and then spot check the whole thing and brush and repaint the bad spots? Anyhow, thanks for the video, by far the best LCA video on CZcams.
Hey man awesome tutorials, appreciate the knowledge. How are the control arms holding up now? Thinking about ordering them up but have heard mixed reviews on moog
Is it important which way cam bolts are facing? Stock has head of the screw pointing forward, yours are pointing in different directions. Is that important?
Hey man, I’ve been watching your videos to help me since I bought my taco last year. My lower ball joints are starting to go. I was quoted by the dealer for $1700 parts and labor. How are the moogs holding up for you? I don’t wheel as hard as you but I very often get on rough Colorado forest roads heading to trailheads. Thank you in advance for the response!

@@KFloTacoma i might be wrong but after some research, it looks like for 1st gen tacoma, you have to also loosen the steering rack and take out sway bar to remove the lower bolt on the lower control arm. a lot more involved than in your video for 2nd & 3rd gen. i appreciate your videos- very clear, concise, easy to follow.

Do the lower control arms come with new bushings and lower ball joint ?
Yessir, that's why I think it's worth buying the whole assembly instead of just the bushings/ball joints separately
Toyota replaced my lower control arms two years ago along with the frame. I really want to do the the uppers.
I would recommend the uppers from freedom off road. Watch that video on my channel!
I had the exact same thing done 2 summers back. ('06 TRD Sport now 2018 frame) I went with SPC which have a fully adjustable ball joint....
Good video brutha. I currently have Total Chaos UCA's and thinking about Dirt King LCA's. They are compatible since they are stock dimensions right?
They should be since they will be mounted onto the same spindle. Just make sure that the King's are not for long travel and you should be fine.

this content is amazing. however what generation toyota were you working on in this video?
All the suspension work on this channel can apply for both the 2nd and 3rd gen

It may work but it will probably throw off your camber settings.
i have those same moog LCAs, did you put any grease in the ball joints? It seems like mine has no grease and its extremely stiff to try and move the bolt.
These ball joints are normally tight since they're under so much stress from the truck. You'll also notice it with new tie rods and new UCAs
This part that you are using and on you amazon page, will this work with a 07 Tacoma 4x4 trd sport 4.0 6 lug?
Yes, mine is an 09 4x4 TRD Sport 6 lug

Most of the parts I use here are on my Amazon page. Go to amazon.kflo-krib.com
Did you adjust your LCA to pull it forward in the wheel well at all? (to minimize rubbing at the back with oversize tires)
I didn't need to. There was enough clearance.
If I use stock parts do I need to get an alignment after this?
You do. Every time you touch your alignment cams. - your alignment is off.
I would recommend an alignment or at the minimum checking your alignment at home. See my wheel alignment video
I want to do both upper and lower is on my taco. Would you recommend I start with top or bottom ones first? Thanks
Uppers are easier than lowers, so I would start with uppers
