I really hate when Joseph walks away from a movie with a bad experience. But the way he emotes that disappointment is just chef's kiss hilarious!
I wish the filmmaker would have been more transparent in the fact that this film was made in 2015. Its stars were in much different places seven years ago. At 18-years-old, Harris Dickinson had only a few small TV parts on his resume. He was finding it hard to gain work. This was his first film. But it never came out and the next year he got Beach Rats and then he was on his way. Fiona Dourif was further along in her career, but since filming this she's been in Tenant and Blacklist and a whole bunch of other things. I guess with Dickinson's career ascendent, Lee found distribution. The funny thing is, it was sitting in "post-production" in Dickinson's imdbPro profile for years (the name of the film back then was The Medium) and about two years ago when he started to be cast pretty regularly, he took his name off the film! It's like he didn't want people to see it in his profile. But then it popped back in this year when Lee changed the name of the film. I've seen some reviews going"why would Harris Dickinson choose to be in this?" He probably wouldn't if it was made now. But when he was a struggling actor trying to break into the business -- yes.

@@babytoshiro7014 Yup! It was called The Medium. It didn't seem to be able to get distribution. There was word it would do some horror festivals in 2021 but that seemed to fall through. (I'm a long-time fan of Dickinson's work). At the time he made this, he had been in one TV show - Some Girls - for two episodes and his drama school won the chance to perform at the National Theatre in their connections program (he was the lead). He was working at a hotel and bars and emptying garbage bins. So to get a role and film in Asia, he was probably super psyched. I understand if someone sees the film, to not know the backstory but if they're sending out screeners to critics and podcasters, they should give a little bit of a history on the film.

I love the balance of Nick at times giving a film auteur type of analysis and Joseph is more like me like: I see what you’re saying and bless their hearts for trying, but it’s still ridiculous and f*cking sucks.😂

Brad Dourif is one of my favorite actors of all time (who unfortunately never won an Oscar). Fiona, not so much.
Yes, the Chucky movies are great but he's pretty versatile, he was excellent in Exorcist 3 which is so underrated.

Unusual phenomena I did like, and followed, was the original Ghost Hunters series. Just because the 'squad' were plumbers (?) and the real sites they'd 'investigate. So, this one is going to be one terrific review, I am sure to enjoy much more, than this movie ;D

We receive screeners from publicists. For films that are not on the major streaming services, they usually either have limited theatrical releases and/or are available VOD.
So the filmmaker does a first Malaysian release in US and it stars white people? Yeah not interested. Rather had a Malaysian cast and release in the US. So glad you two was so honest with your review. It's a blessing to have you both 🙏🙏❤️ and not to mention you both are helluva funny 😂

Now color me crazy but that made me want to taste Egg Drop Soup!! 🤣🤣Aside from that: I will be looking at this. Why? Because Joseph's 'notes/observations' only stir up an insane curiosity to see for myself. Case in point: Suffered through Jeepers Creepers just to see Dee Wallace and that woman's hilarious Southern accent and the Shark movie featuring those kids on a deserted island with the pretty black girl who's wig and perfect makeup(including false eyelashes) stayed on even as the shark was devouring her!! If these movies are so bad? Stop making your comments so belly laughing funny - they almost force me to watch said movie. *spank* Naughty boys 😂😂

This is real story back then, truly haunted mansion at Fraser hill Malaysia and its evil demon inside there and the area too. You guys can come and visit here and try to stay there in 1 night see how it goes can be lasting till next day or not.
