REMOTE PROGRAMMING:
Please make sure to read before attempting.
Any remotes not present at the time of programming will STOP working
- 1. Enter the vehicle, close, and unlock all doors using the power unlock switch on the driver’s door. Insert the key into the ignition but do not turn it yet.
- 2. Using the power unlock switch on the driver’s door, press and hold the switch in the unlock position.
- 3. While holding the switch in the unlock position, switch the key as far ON as it will go without starting the vehicle and back to OFF two (2) times, ending in the OFF position, then release the power unlock switch.
At this point the vehicle door locks should automatically lock and unlock, indicating that the programming mode has been activated.
- 4. Using any remote, press and hold down the “UNLOCK” and “LOCK” buttons simultaneously for 15-30 seconds until the door locks automatically lock and unlock. If 30 seconds pass while holding down the buttons and the vehicle door locks do not cycle, then the remote programming has failed and you must restart the programming from STEP 1.
- 5. Repeat STEP 4 for all remaining remotes you wish to program. You can program up to 4 remotes total.
- 6. Once you have programmed all of your remotes, exit the programming mode by switching the key to the ON position. The vehicle door locks will lock and unlock automatically indicating that the programming mode has been exited. Turn OFF the key and remove it as well as open and close the driver’s door.
- 7. Test all remotes to ensure they are functioning. If any did not program, restart the programming procedure from STEP 1 and switch the order in which you are programming the remotes.
This procedure was carried out on a 2003 CHEVY SILVERADO but will also work for the following vehicles

Hello. I am trying to program a brand new replacement key fob for my 2001 Chevy Tahoe. As mentioned the key fob is brand new, with brand new working batteries. I have followed/repeated the entire insert key, hold down unlock button, turn ignition off/on twice, wait for the lock to cycle, press and hold lock/unlock on fob simultaneously. But the lock never cycles therefore the Tahoe never enters programming mode. As a side note, I know that the locks are capable of cycling. Because when I pull and hold the bright light lever while cycling the key twice to program my desired door lock/unlock sequence the locks will actually cycle, the same way that they should when programming the key fobs. Can you please share some troubleshooting steps that might help me diagnose why my Tahoe won't enter programming mode so that I can program my new key fobs? Thank you.

My chevy don't have power lock button how do I do the keyless remote my chevy is a 06 colorado
if you dont have a "power button" then it dosent have the actuators to unlock it automatically ... you would need an entire kit for that

most likely there is an issue with your alarm module
I haven't received my replacement fob yet but I wrote this down from his video and others. With doors closed, insert key, hold down unlock button on door, turn key on and off, and on and off. When lock clicks, release unlock button on door. On remote, hold down lock and unlock button together until lock clicks (could be up to 30 seconds), release buttons on remote. To finish, turn key to on, horn should honk and/or lock should click, turn key to off. All done.

Our truck doesn't have the original keyfob when we bought it. Do we need the factory keyfob to program the new one or will the new one ne accepted without it?

Question, my power button on my drivers side door doesn't work, is there a way to bypass that step to program new key fobs? I bought key fobs because my old one quit working, and then my door lock on drivers side quit working as well. So I bought new key fobs to bypass getting the door lock fixed. Is there still a way to program the new key fobs?

Hello was wondering if you can help me out please I been trying several programs I have a chevy cavalier 03 and I had to drill out my ignition switch cylinder I replaced it with new key every thing all maintenance up to date and starter and relay every good strategy and for to seconds and dies

I bought one on Amazon, but I don't want to mess anything up if I hit the wrong buttons.
Bought the car used & it came with one 🔑 only.. Nothing else.

worn out key, if new key could be cut wrong or inside the key cylinder is broken

No I tried and with a little more research I found out we're the unlucky ones that have to go to a locksmith and have the new key programmed.
I actually went to the dealership for 2 key fob $165.00 got the key fob on amazon. But thanks brother
