Just bought it!
I love you brother grey show but you miss sing making video on specific rifle on special scope ; Zeiss on delta 5 Daniel defense on 28 nosler., ok good look,. I can way.
The fact that suppressors can be purchased over the counter in other countries shows how bad the NFA really is.
Can you use a 338 suppressor on a 30 cal rifle to lower the noise decibals
@@wickedtrutharms57
Yes. Can be very effective becaiuse of typically increased internal volume of the big boy suppressors. It MAY be adventageous to have a custom made end cap to further contain spent gasses.
And you basically arent allowed to use one in the UK without one
And some of the other countries will look at you for not using one as being rude lol wish it was so in the US
Not allowed them in Australia, must be too scary
Man, I have to tell you that the best part of this video is your wife's laughter. She is having lots of fun.
It would be fun to see actual decibels of the guns when you fire them.
Air rifles are sky rocketing in popularity.
I have some spring piston air rifles are much less expensive to buy then most PCP rifles and do not require scuba tank or expensive air compressor. With .177 cal I can practice in my back yard where I could not use a firearm. Some practice with pellet gun in their basement in the winter.
@@raykettel1837 an Impact is also way more capable than a springer
@@coryb6722 For rabbit and smaller springer is used successfully by many for hunting and eliminating varmints. Larger calibe with PCP is better for longer range and larger game. This video was discussion quiet options. Some springers are not very loud--more than quiet enough to not disturb neighbors. For plinking a springer is good enough for many at a lower overall cost. I think there is a place for both. I am glad we have many options. I don't hunt so don't need the capability to take down larger game with a PCP. I don't compete with rifles so do not need the capability of PCP. The price of the PCP recommended in this video much more than many would want to pay. I assume there are many more PCP's that have a lower price that are very quiet too but still require a special air pump or scuba tank.
Would love to see a video on that FX Impact! I believe shooting airs makes us better at shooting our rifles plus its just flat out fun and it doesn't annoy the neighbors.
8.6 sounds awesome; I'd never even heard of it (or alot of other hunting cartridges actually) until watching this channel. Thanks for the informative videos! Much appreciated
Got my first cans in after 10 months of waiting. Definitely worth it, though. My .22 pistol is quieter than a bb gun now. Next one (due Feb 2024) will be a 9mm can to shoot suppressed .357 from a Henry Big Boy X.
Thank you so much for the info ❤
I really like .450 Bushmaster for subsonic shooting. Fits nicely into the AR-15 platform.
That was a well done vid packed with good info!
Neat video! I’m so intrigued by the 8.6 Blackout cartridge that I bought reloading dies for it when they were available. If can only put so much energy behind the bullet and stay subsonic, why not put more energy into the *spin*? It’s true 8.6 BO makes 45-70 look like a laser, but I really don’t care.
Need to check out 68 Whiskey, Teds Holdover, Air Arms Hunting SA, Utah Air, etc etc. Most of us airgun shooters, especially with PCPs, use moderators. I’ve hunted with it, shot at the range, etc, and never had an issue with having a moderator on them. These things are potent.
6 month?? Guess my suppressors didn’t get the memo.
Love my FX Impact m3 I have killed many critters with it
That joke you made at the 7:00 mark!!!!!! I’m still laughing my ass off!!!!!! 6 months!!!!!! Hilarious!!!!!!!😓
The loudest crack out of a gun I have encountered is a .22 magnum out of a REVOLVER.
I agree with this. I didn’t expect it and didn’t wear any hearing protection. My ears definitely took a while to stop ringing.
Loudest I’ve heard was a 357 max Dan Wesson Super Mag revolver.
My 7.5 inch 300 black out is louder without a doubt
NAA 22 mag. Won't hunt squirrels without plugs
ESPECIALLY one with a SHORT barrel!
This looks like so much fun. My quietest is a Winchester Wildcat with a suppressor and sub sonic norma .22lr
So much plinking fun
I have an el camino on a Savage Mark II...with CCI quite ammo you hear the firing pin and what ever you hit...love this combo
Love this video great work
6 months BWAHAHA! It's been a little bit since Jim has bought a suppressor.😅
The last suppressor that I got in January took 13 months. Like seriously people, why is processing something like that so damn slow?
@@josephvu1753 Enough people have found out how great they are.
This was a really fun video!
I'd love to see some more reviews for ear protection as well.
My Air Force Texan 45 caliber air gun is in this category! Soft lead hollow points work well with the slower speed bullets!
The firearm is cheap. Okay, but the muffler is stupid expensive and excessively over-regulated!!!
Good stuff, thanks for putting this out. Can you review a Howa 1500? Made in the same place as Weatherby Vanguards, but for half the price. Curious to see how they feed and feel.
The FX airguns are so popular because it is highly customizable plus super accurate. Many are less expensive but not customizable and much less shots per air gun fill. I have shot a .25 caliber and the rig can shoot sub 1 inch at 100 yards. The sound of the pellet hitting the paper at 100 yards is louder than out of the barrel. It is also powerful especially with slugs. I have shot a regular 26gr pellet thru a 3/4 inch shelving board at 100 yards. A number of hunters have shown them taking everything from ground squirrels at over 100 yards, hunting coyotes, to Keith Warren's channel taking small to medium size hogs in south Texas. I encourage you to do some testing with it for its power. I believe you will want to put up the powder burners for the smaller game!!
Hey, I'm a Mormon too. I want that FX for Eurasian doves. Thanks, now I've got to spend more money.
Jim keep the good work!
Id love to see more pcp airgun videos from you in the future.
I think that Impact has the moderator over the barrel, a straight shot would be kind of loud, at least a few I have watched, almost need hearing protection, on some of them.
Lot's of stuff on CZcams about the FX impact. Matt Dubber goes into great detail about these guns.
I have a 25 cal Benjamin marauder (PCP) rifle. It has a 8 round clip and I can shoot 16 rounds between pumping, using a manual pump. It’s a blast. I can shoot squirrels consistently at 50 yds.
Ops, the mighty mauser jammed pretty bad 😂
I believe that air rifle is integrally suppressed. I have fired big bore air rifles un-surpessed it's almost as loud as a firearm shooting the same fpe.
Hawe supressor on my 9,3x62 made of Hausken and there are many other from Norway, Sweden and Europa
I use my FX rifle in .25 cal to shoot hogs and raccoon at night here in Texas. I have a thermal on top of my FX
I just do head shots with it and they drop on the spot.
I do have a moderator on it.
I have yet to try on coyotes.
That FX Impact has a heck of a price on their website and that’s not outfitted as much as yours. Even though I live in the country I do a lot of varmint control at night and even with a .22lr I feel it disturbs my neighbor..I will definitely be looking into the exact FX you showed today, thank you!!!
American Air Arms is supposed to be equally awesome.
Get subsonic rounds for the 22lr. It makes a big difference without a suppressor. But the suppressor makes a world of difference!
@@Huckleberry_Hunter I’ve got some and they are quieter, just need to get a suppressor..probably would be a cheaper route for sure!
Air guns are a blast! They are also quite deadly!
@@patriot1182 I have a game whisper that shoots like 1400fps but it’s a .177..it’s a killer for sure but I’d like to be able to like a few bigger things with I bigger cal one
Her smile 😊
The video states 30 cents per shot for 22LR and then he holds up a box of bulk Remington Thunderbolts. That is funny. I know match grade 22LR goes for 30 CPR or more but bulk ammo is about 6 CPR. Thunderbolts are not subsonic. For about 7 to 8 CPR one can buy CCI SV or Norma Tac-22 that should be subsonic out of most or all firearms, Walmart dropped their price on Federal Auto Match which is supersonic like Thunderbolts to about 6 CPR recent which is less than the pellet price mentioned of 10 cents each. .177 pellets are as little as 1 to 2 cents each but the larger ones that would be used for any game larger than say a rabbit do cost more. Also note that paying to refill a scuba tank costs money or buying a special air pump cost money. Scuba tanks require testing and have limited life. So all the cost should be included. A spring piston air rifle is less expensive to operate but the spring piston action does make more noise. But some like operate at lower pressures make less noise than hitting steel targets. That is why some shoot paper with a backstop of a cardboard box filled with rubber landscaping mulch.
I've been watching your videos for a while now, I'm glad to see you've finally found the airgum market. I've been shooting air rifles for about 3 years now. And they are lots of fun and make some serious hunting rifles. Although only a few states allow them for hunting but as as the sport gains popularity maybe that will change. You should check out the Air Force Texan and umerex Hammer.
Looks like a beautiful day out in Warner valley, Jim. Do you shoot out there often?
FX Impact, if you want to see some good hunting, Iguana solutions she is in Florida, Air Hunter Gerhard, Matt Dubber South Africa, Teds Holdover, AirTac Hunting and Air Rifle Activities are a few but there are too many to list. These I have subbed and watch, or try to once in a while.
Jim, can you explain all the things that trimmer can do?
I would like to hear that fx with one of your powder silencer. I have.22 Hatson PCP with a Donny Fl moderator and love it.
What do you use for hearing protection?
At the gun range, I noticed that the AR 15's are loud. Could you do a noise test on 16" and 20" barrels with and without flash hiders and with cans; all shooting supersonic ammo. I have not found any real data on this. 😊
I know what you mean: at my first ever shooting lesson, I was at an indoor range with my instructor and my 9mm PCC. I was wearing double hearing protection, yet had no trouble hearing my instructor speak. But then the only other shooter in the room let loose with his AR-15. My instructor just looked at me, said "AR...!", and we had to stop any talking until the AR was done shooting,. Of course, the velocity on those rounds is probably 2.5x that of what I was shooting, so that has a lot to do with how loud they are.
13:22 A-tec a12 shotgun silencer :)
Great video
Starting to look into SBRs and suppressors in Utah but I’m curious, gun trust or no gun trust?
what are you talking about, ladies love the hair
Don't know if you read your comment but thought I'd try.
Hope you got your air rifle from Air Guns of Utah and you should check out there custom coated ones as well.
Cerakote versus a stainless steel barrel? What’s more durable and stain resistant? Ie Tikka Roughtec Ember. Versus Weatherby Vanguard cerakote
I totally agree pcp rifles are so quiet providing your not shooting a big bore like my 22 air venturi a lot of people like to put moderators on them I don't I feel it's a waste of money considering how little bit of quiet you get I mean as is it's just a very small pop I fart louder then it seriously
You really missed a golden opportunity to use that pellet gun vs real gun segment and make a really fun remix
Most airrifle moderators explode if you even try to use it on a regular firearm. The simply cannot handle the pressure
You will not need a Tax stamp ever for any air rifle because air rifles aren't firearms period no explosion happens if that they were firearms then paintballers would have to register all their gun because a PCP is just a pellet gun merged with a paintball gun. I have a .30 cal Donny fl Tonto and they are literally just plastic and mesh screen on the inside covered with a piece of felt fabric and scotch tape. There 100% fine to own and most people put them on the louder PCP air rifles to make them backyard friendly.
With my 22LR Browning T Bolt, it is probably hearing safe with subsonic ammo without the can. With the can - happiness
I have the Impact M3 in .30 super quite and accurate and 150 and 200 yards easy
dude i'm so glad to see someone else thinks outside the shirt
6 months??? My 3 cans took 12 months. I guess we can dream.
Thank you Sir
It’s not a weird legal spot at all. A silencer or suppressor ONLY requires an NFA tax stamp IF it is designed or intended to be used on a firearm. An air rifle is not a firearm…. because there’s no fire… no cartridges, etc.
Now, tell them the price of the FX pcp!
Literally the only inexpensive thing (when it comes to pcp airguns) is the ammo.
I agree PCP is not really cheap. The larger caliber pellets are exactly cheap though. .177 is as cheap at 1 to 2 cents each but everything above .22 is much more expensive. The scuba tank is expensive. An air compressor is expensive. Scuba tanks have limited service life. A lower powered break barrel is much less expensive to shoot and the break barrel spring piston is not that loud with some models.
Not to mention the absurd amount of accessories to get your gun shooting like these YTbers
Got the Air Venturi Avenger pcp in .25 caliber ($350). The price jump between .22 and .25+ ammo is surprising.
Paid $450 for the compressor to fill to 4,350psi (.22 cal pcp's can be hand pumped to 3,000psi). Think another $100-ish was spent on air drier/filtration accessories. A DonnyFL moderator was $160.
And another $170 on a TERMINADOR chassis (the stock Avenger stock just made it "feel" cheap). So yeah, a guy CAN get wrapped up into $1,000+ pretty quick on a PCP build. I'm in $1,230.00.
@@carfvallrightsreservedwith6649 Thanks for the details. .22 cal Crossman for $7 or under for 500 at Amazon are hard to beat for low price as long as one's air rifle like them. I know .25 cost much more. I started with break barrel rifles for lower overall cost and then jumped directly to firearms. A nearly silent PCP would be fun but needing the extra hardware has kept me from buying one. Luckily I have a nice gun range just 20 minutes from my house where I can practice with firearms so for cheap shooting I am enjoying shooting my Tikka T1X with my 6 CPR 22LR ammo. I just ordered some 9mm for 20 CPR that I enjoy using for IDPA/USPSA.
Too bad cva discontinued the 300 blackout in their scout model. I think it’s still available in the take down models.
I love your videos
A newer Mathews or Elite, with a release, you’re really just hearing the arrow hit. Not fair for the bow comparison lol
What optic is that on your buckmark?
SilencerCo has had the Salvo shotgun silencer for years.
He could advertise a nerf gun. I’m calling it
9+ months is the current wait time.
I have been waiting for almost a full year now for ATF to approve my $200 suppressor license
Not like a machine gun , just hearing protection
That impact is more or less integrally suppressed already, the 'shroud' system that most PCPs use is just that. Don't be the guy to go and register an airgun moderator. Just get an adapter and stick a rimfire can on it for fucks sake
I wish you had a standalone, decibel Meanor to show the actual volume of these firearms, because the sound suppression of CZcams and microphone you’re using to record with makes even the loudest gun sound quieter, than you’re talking voice. Thanks for the video though.
GRS bipod 👍
a squirrel? theres ppl hunting boar with .25 and .30 pcp. using hard cast solid slughs.
you need to visit Europe, a decent 22lr silencer starts at around £40, the most expensive center fire in my local gun shop is £360 you can pick up a good one for £265 & hushpower have been silencing shot guns for decades. you need to get a 'variation' to add a mod to your license which is £20 not a $200 tax stamp. and we are one of the more restrictive European countries.
It is price in british pounds?
UK is very strict about guns?
@@Aegie prices are in British pounds its about $1.25 to £1 so the most expensive mod would be about $450. although the UK is quite restrictive moderators/silencers have become normal and widely available. there has been talk of deregulating them so no license would be needed.
@@graybeard101 ok
So because a black powder front loader is not classified as a firearm couldn't you put a moderator on a inline muzzleloader and forgo any nfa garbage with the same concept as the air rifle both aren't firearms both can ship to your front door and bother are not regulated? Someone please let me know info on this
I always thought that the reason a gun. Is called a firearm, is due to the. Fire that is created by the burning of. The gun powder, an air powered gun. Does not create fire so a suppressor. Is a stamp free gun assessery.
great content: I cannot wait till the make a suppressor/silencer for gas gun AR 5.56/223nato that is quiet like that, with full power loads and not subs. then i will get me a suppressor, when they are over the counter legal, with no tax stamp. which in my opinion will "Never" happen, at least while I would be young enough to enjoy it, and I am already 51 and dont have many years left
I have my 338 lm suppressed.
You can shoot 9.3 with it to.
I have 5 rifles and 6 cans.
Kudos to you for getting the .30 cal Impact!
How much was invested in the FX setup?
Cheap .22 suppressor.. at 500$??? Man, my .22 suppressor is like 60 bucks!!
A .45 acp with a 16" barrel is pretty quiet without a suppressor.
Getting a silencer takes about a year. Ask me how I know!
Information overload.😮😮😮😮😮😮😮
8.6 blackout gang! lets go!
$2000+ for an air rifle 😳
I went with a Weihrauch HW30S and HW50S for my family from Krale for a much lower up front cost and lower cost for .177 cal pellets. I don't need to hunt larger game with larger cal air rifle. There not as quiet as PCP rifle but not as loud as higher pressure air guns. Hitting steel target would be much louder. I use paper targets with backstop of a cardboard box filled with rubber landscaping mulch.
Wait until you see all the accessories
What is that bipod on the FX?
What about a slug instead of bb shot out of a shotgun and suppressing that?
Did you forget to make sure she had her ears on when you shot the 6.8?
Stand up for the constitution, free we the people.
I run my Sig Cross suppressed, and you can barley hear that... Airguns.. To get a good one cost more than a Very Good rifle.. up in the $2000 dollar range...
dude were you on Pawn Stars? lol i seen a guy on there the other night looked just like you
Can you do a Remington 700 cdl 270
And 8.6blkout is basically a 338federal
Tikka t1 .22lr with suppressor
30cpr 22lr and 6 month form 4 waits? What year was this filmed lol
Not 6 months for the ATF to get their act together - more like 9+ months in my experience
What bipod is that on the impact air rifle?
GRS Bipod
