Justin looked like he was legit shivering and he got a sub-MOA hit at a mile in five shots and 150 seconds. Absolute legend
How was it a sub moa hit? I only saw one impact. I thought MOA meant meant of angle, determining the grouping being under 1 inch at 100 yards. I don’t understand what MOA would mean at 1 mile. Thanks 🙏 I guess minute of angle at 100 yards is extremely magnified by the time you get to 1 mile?
@@liggerstuxin1 1 MOA at 1 mile is 18.4 inches
@@liggerstuxin1 MOA is 1.047 inches at 100 yards. If you were to increase the distance to 200 yards, 1 MOA is 2.097 inches.
If you are at 1 mile, you are shooting at a distance of 1760 yards. multiply 1.047 by 17.60 (17.6 100 yard increments) and therefore you can determine that 1 MOA at 1 mile is 18.4272 inches.
MOA is an angular measurement so whatever distance you are shooting at determines what 1 MOA is
Tony Marfione shot a heck of a group, though. Good to see that he's capable behind a rifle, too.
Tony is a heck of a shot and knows how to use his gear for sure.
Tony was stacking em.
He stacked em all off the target.
If someone gave him the correction 1 target up, 1 target left. All his shots would have landed on the plate. What a setup, the flyer can be ignored. To shoot a group that tight at 1760y is wow.
@@kingkezz9188 Absolutely right 👍.
Awesome new format for a series. I love watching the shooting but I enjoy seeing everyone’s rifles just as much. Seeing some that I never see is even better.
Took the Texas plinking 1000 yard and turned it up a notch or 2. I like it.
Turned it up 1.76 notches lol (from 1000 yards)
You got to watch there's a joker in every crowd! Seems like a good group of guys to spend some time with. It's also a popular thing to have a shooting competition for bragging rights and a coin, medal or ribbon. I get a kick out of this type of shooting competition because it's basically for fun! I enjoy watching these guys trying to shoot a mile with only five shots to connect! I've been watching for years now and I'm glad to see some good people picked you to sponsor and help the shooting sports out. Congrats to all that showed up and to those who made this possible! Good luck Ray and it's a nice bonus to get practice at a mile range too! Fringe benefits are great sometimes!
Thanks Brad! It is a fun series but there are a lot of behind the scenes to make this all happen . I appreciate each and every one of my viewers and sponsors for this event. 👍🏼
Sweet setups for every shooter. Nice to see all the cool gear. Great video.
Nice shooting gentlemen. Big thanks to Tony for sponsoring and giving a knife to the winner. Ray you sir never disappoint. Thanks for the footage. It was good to see a lot of different type of rifle setups
oh man! somehow I missed that the X-ring got his own challenge going. This is a great idea and I’m wholeheartedly in favor of more precision shooting challenges on youtube!
Kyle Lonsdale get rid of that Accutrigger and get the Timney for the Savage, best $140 bucks you can spend for the Savage.
Yea savage triggers suck, that and the bolts are rough before working them for a while. Love my savage rifles, and I love my bergara rifles too. Great accurate guns!
Hey Ray thank you so much for bringing this to us I’ve been enjoying the first two episodes and wanted to say thank you for adding the shot count and the impact location. that’s a nice addition.
Ray seems like the 0ld standby 300 Norma Magnum shot tight groups. ( as a gunsmith of small stature, I did not find the hunting weight 300 enjoyable to shoot, however the popularity in the 60’s and 70’s was undeniable, although the Weatherby and Remington 7mm Mag had their fanboys. At the conclusion Justin was methodical in analysis of impact as he concentrated peering through the scope after each shot; evident in the real-time video. The 6.5 CM still holding its own with the right attitude, equipment preparation, and mindset when clock is running regardless of weather conditions. It’s the same for all on the shooting line in the short time of time of individual timed events. Experience counts. Ray you inclusion of region is mostly appreciated,it seems the East coast folks are demonstrating the interest is there for this fantastic opportunity to sustain the long rang shooting sports alive. Congratulations on you impact shot as well as tight group with your 300 NM. Will continue following your channel with diverse content on LRS. Our appreciation to Zeiss and others for their continuing support.
You are a true gentleman and sniper who sends credit to your Guntube brothers, I really like it.
Thank you ! 🙏
I’m retired from that line of work now. 👍🏼
Did he though ? Texas plinking actually called him out for not getting credit for basically his same idea lol
Glad to see the MK22 (MRAD) representing! Cool series Ray! Thanks as always.
MRADs are sexy.
This is exactly what I was looking for in a video. Love long range stuff like this.
Damn that F class with the open chamber on both sides is freaking awesome
First episode I was surprised at how many 6.5 CM there were trying to make that shot. Crazy how the first impact of the challenge was with a 6.5 CM, that is impressive! Thank you for the content really enjoying this challenge.
Great Challenge. Great Video. Nice idea, that shooters are showing their equipment. Thank you very much! Greetings from Germany 🙋🏼♂️👍🏻
Thanks for watching!
Wind, Rain 🌧️ and Tony has the best shooting coach know to man!!!
It was a tough day of shooting.
Love the stock on Shawn's rifle! Gorgeous
Tony shot a fantastic group, such a shame that he didn’t get an impact. What really impressed me though, was how Ray just lay down after chairing the event and in almost rapid fire got an impact, unlucky not to have had three. One can clearly see that he’s one hell of a shooter and a great host of this event. I’d like to see him and Eric go back to back
This is awesome. I was glued to the monitor for the whole 30+ mins.
Thanks Isplus and thanks for watching the channel. 👍🏼
THIS IS THE GREATEST LONG RANGE VIDEO IVE EVER SEEN!!! ITS GOR EVERYTHING!!!
That od green gap rifle looking 🔥🥵 maybe next time I’ll have to bring out the Norma improved. Thanks Ray it was great time and great event 👍🏼 see ya next time
Outstanding Ray! Thanks for posting. Looks like a great day.
I love watching these coz it reminds me that buying the biggest and best rifle/scope doesn't make you the best shooter. it helps a lot but there is still a lot of skill behind it. Also I could never hit those targets and i know it
Very cool. Awesome series.
Tough shot! I could feel the stress and frustration of the shooters. Excellent series!
Keep it up, looking forward to MORE!!
LOVE the Challenge!
Great video! I now have no confidence at the mile coming from Floridia. Thank you for sharing, and thank you, Zeiss!
I’m a layman, but Justin and Tony seemed like the best shooters to me.
i love how youve put your own little spin on the Texas challenge! awesome content!
What an exciting challenge. Great video idea.
Good work putting this together Ray. Stuff like this is giving guys a reason to buy into the big magnums and pushing the boundary further.
Love long range! Ty for the east coast love and ty guys for the f-class candy! Those rifles are incredible!
Fantastic, really enjoyed ❤, thanks
Loved how Justin rocked the bipod to settle. I do the same always to great result. 👍🏻😎👍🏻
My 16 year old son shoots a custom Hill country rifle in 300 mag. Doing the milk jug challenge at 1 mile. Awesome video and a great bunch of guys.
This is the best challenge. Of all of them
Really enjoying watching this. I hope you make more of them.
Holy Crap! That MRAD is one hell of a rifle.
Hi, I'm Davey Crockett from White Pine TN. Today I'll be using my 45 cal Kentucky flintlock long Rifle
Just set Santa Anna out there. Victory for sure
Howdy, Davey. I'm Matthew Quigley, and I'll be using my Shiloh Sharps 1874.
@@DocJustinT bring us some of those fancy stick matches Mathew. I'm feeling a mite lucky
Hello gentlemen.....my name is John Diefenbaker, and I am from Medicine Hat, Alberta 🇨🇦 Canada...and ...I am running the PGW Prairie Gun Works in .33XC caliber...and I have the bolt lubed up in my Aunt Gertrudes most famous Maple Syrup!!!....
Thanks Ray! Great shoot!
1 mile is 1760 yards ÷ 100 = 17.6 X 1.047" per 100 yards = 18.4272" for 1 MOA at 1 mile.
Love seeing g the setups on these rifles. I think I'd go with the 6.5 creed as well. Although watching Tony with the 300 Norma he was all over it. RLTW 3/75
Ray is the man!...Must be frustrating just watching these guys!
This is AWESOME Ray !!! - Thanks fer sharing !! & keep up the cool content, Love it & appreciate it !!
This is incredible shooting! Holy cow!
Love it! Great series!
Thanks Wayne! I hope you are doing well.
@@XRING hobbling around in pain, but I’ll be ok 👌
Amazing shooters. Crazy they are even getting that close
Looks like a great time. Thanks for the video. Be Safe
Excellent challenge!
What a great competition! 👍🇺🇲
Hey Ray! Love the challenge! I am hoping to get on the waitlist! I’m a shooter out of south Florida!
Fantastic thanks for the video
I enjoyed watching you shoot, Ray. I think it should be a regular part of these videos.
Great video really enjoyable
Seems like they having trouble with the rear bag, WG was having a nightmare of a time 😂, great concept Mr.Xring keep them coming mate, cheers Yogi 🤙✌️
GR8 VIDEO THNX RAY TUFF CHALLENGE FOR SURE
Fantastic shooters.
Great video ❤
Great vid Ray
Very cool!
Thanks for this episode! Must be pretty difficult and fun at the same time. It was cool to see you attempt the challenge. It would be cool if joined every challenge… thumbs up if you agree!!!!!
Awesome East Coast thanks
Great day even with the rain!
Awesome!
Never shot at a mile, but did at a half mile with a 223 shooting 80 gr factory ammo, got 6 hits in a row,on a 7 inch steel gong, funny thing was, target looked so close through a high mag scope!
Hopefully will do the mile this summer 😊
Fantastic
Usually love the video. Thank you but I’ll stick with “know your limit” style shooting with decreasing size targets at distances under or at 500-1000 yds. These distances of 1 mile or more are luck more than skill. But I’m a grumpy 80 year old so pay me no mind. Love your videos and keep up the good work. ❤👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Great video Ray, and you had a good bunch of guys enjoying a good day out shooting, whats not to like 👍👍👍 that was a difficult challenge but the guys did really well especially with only 5 rounds.. its way harder than it looks.. anyway im tuning in from Scotland so its great to see big guns doing their thing 😂😂 we dont have that kind of fire power in Scotland unless your a sniper in the army 🤣🤣 catch you on your next video.. peace and live from Scotland.. 👍🤟✌️
You have the BEST PRIZES….
I can't believe anyone did that good in the rain, to be honest.
That 300 norma in the MRAD, a very consistent group.
What brand is that knob on top of Will's scope?
Nice shooting Ray
Awesome video, great to see an east coast challenge! But I hold the X Ring financially responsible for the ELR rifle I am about to build 😂
I’m sure you will Mike! 🤣
Another great X-Ring 1 mile challenge 👍. Even though only one shooter hit the gong at 1 mile (including Master X-Ring) every single one of those guys are great shooters, no doubt about it. Well done gentleman.
Excluding
@@OFFICIALUND Master X-Ring won’t be happy to hear that lol 😂
@@conservativesniperhunter7439 No, I'm just saying that two people got hits. So if you say "only one shooter hit the gong . . ." then you have to say "EXCLUDING". Otherwise it's two shooter to hit the target.
@@OFFICIALUNDUnderstood, my bad.
Can we get the barrel lengths next time? Keep up the good work!
I'd be lucky to impact within the optic's field of view. I need lessons from one of these guys. And in the rain to boot! One bullet hits 10 drops of rain and the next hits 12... And you're off by more than the target size.
I would love to come and be part of the challenge! Wanting to do Texas plinking but it's so far from PA. If you need a shooter I'm in! Love the videos!!
AWESOME video with tough conditions. How do you sign up?
X-Ring didn't disappoint! Bet he can give Backfire a nice run on that channel's challenge.
Love watching this challenge and seeing the gear the competitors bring with em.
Hope someone wins that scope next time.
Lmao backfire is a hack.
As a Texan, I legitimately did not know that there were non-hunting shooters on the East Coast. Glad to see it!
Ray, your Norma was the only one that I could see a good splash in the bank on my phone. It must be packing some heat down range.
Damn ol marfione, Mr microtech himself.
At least Ray can make a pro side wind call for Christ’s sake
Thank you for the video! Great challenge. Honestly though, F-open gun with march on top is nowhere near honest game. You might as well allow cheytacs or 416 barret to compete.
What's missing for me? A close up of the target to give us an idea of scale. Is the target 1ft or 10ft? Nice to have, but realistically not possible I guess, is a scope cam. Lastly a camera near target to see impacts. Thank you.
The round target is an 18 inch circle.
338 Lap!!!! 250s or 300s, pick your pill and go to town!
That last dude looks the most American an American can get.
That f class with window chamber makes it so you come off the gun with both hands and completely change your hold and body spot.
What grain bullet was Ray shooting ? His splash was very useful compared to the others for adjustments
I was using a 250gr. A-Tip at 2910fps. 👍🏼
Fun to watch. Sad that out of all those sweet rifles the only hit was with a 6.5 creedmoor. So hard to spot misses in that wet berm.
🔥🔥🔥🇫🇮🔥🔥🔥Awesome
Im coming out next time with my Marlin 30-30 with the early 90s Simmons 3x9x32 and its on
Heck yeah
At 1 mile, I don’t understand all the time taken to adjust parallax. Wouldn’t it be infinity at a mile? Also DOPE, do the shooters get a chance to run a Kestrel atmospheric and an application for caliber to get them in the ballpark before shooting?
i like watching these shoots; can anyone tell me why no one shoots a 7mm Rem Mag? I have that caliber and I can really reach out. is the 7mm Mag not as good?
Had to do it, didn’t ya! Couldn’t let Justin get the only hit. 😟
1st thing I would do regardless of wind to start is put at least .50 MOA of windage left for the right hand twist. Needed 1 MOA left at 2000 yards last time I shot without wind. Your mileage may vary.
Get Mark and Sam in for a shoot, Marks not too bad at throwing lead at 3000+ yards .
a few good groups at that range ,but why no adjusting scopes , hard to hold over that kind of amounts . nice guns though .
