    Very good vid 👍🏼 to show the difference between fin and foil.
    It confirm my perceptions.
    Very low wind, foil is faster.
    Foiling jibes are faster.
    But if the wind is enough, fin is faster.

    And what is the result? Which one ist faster in light winds? A comparing needs a result.

      Slalom is in the Gusts (12-13 knots) definitely faster. In low winds / lulls (9-10 knots) speeds are comparable but foil gear will overtake the slalom gear in the jibe then.

      @@femkeenjelle3826 well another aspect to consider in favour foil is the confort with chop for calves and also noise for ears!

    Looking great but soooo jealous of your flat water. Our sea was ridiculous this Sunday and I was the only one on slalom gear.

      really interesting, at "not pwa levels" normal slalom still seems to be by far superior. What front wing size did you use?

    • @femkeenjelle3826
      @femkeenjelle3826  Před 3 lety

      We do agree! You have to be a fast foiler (at least at our level, haha) to overtake the slalom gear in the gusts! We used a small front wing (639).

    Nice video. Do you know what sort of speed you were making?

    • @femkeenjelle3826
      @femkeenjelle3826  Před 3 lety +1

      Maximum speed was around 45 km/h on the foil, around 50 km/h on the slalom gear

      @@femkeenjelle3826 don't know. Never competed in that class. Is it possible for me to start there as a german?
      Currently it's also pretty cumbersome to enter the netherlands. Hopefully it'll be better next month :/

    • @femkeenjelle3826
      @femkeenjelle3826  Před 3 lety +2

      Normally you can always join, but like you already mention it will be harder to enter this year due to the regulations. Personally think it's still a bit unsecure if the event will be held. At least interesting to experience a new race format with slalom and foil gear in one heat: i'm curious!

    Nice movie but terrible music. Can't bear to listen. Would much rather just hear the wind and the water.
