i think the mojito color is going to be rare one day a couple years from now, A lot of people are gonna want that color.
You are not the only one that has done this. I have seen a bunch of the green Jeeps with the red dash.
It looked a little strange at first, but by the end of the video I was totally digging it. Truly one of a kind!

Totally agree with you...should have been on all Rubicon’s. I have a 2019 Bikini JLRU, also came with the boring gray dash. Thank’s for the video...will help a lot with installation!

Like all the mods. I also have the mojito Wrangler unlimited. I named mine Tha Grinch and have a smiling grinch decal on the hood! Tried to share the pic but couldn't find an option to.

I just swapped my grey dash for the red today on my Hella Yella Rubicon. Love it!! Was so upset I had to get the grey when I ordered it.

i have always thought that each jeep dash should come the same color as the jeep, it will bring out the color more, but they only offer gray and red, we have the gray one ourselves. great video, great combination!

looking to buy a 2019 JLU in Mojito and I think the red dash looks great. You hit it on the head about all the red accents already on the jeep.

Was the airbag module hard to swap over? that would be my main hesitation on swapping it. I test drove a 2019 today and love all the red accents in there. I am going to order a set of GPCA grab handles and upgrade the handle color to red!
Swap wasn’t bad at all, only one plug behind the glove box, it’s Harder to take the airbag out of the dash piece !

Oh I still plan on stealing that hood decal idea and get one custom made too. ;) I almost ordered mine with the red dash just because but I couldn't do it. It was an option when I ordered mine. Looks great man!! Mojito Nation baby!
Really? As far as I knew you couldn’t even order it with a red dash, and vice versa you couldn’t order a gray dash for all the other colors
When I was ordering mine the day Mojito came out the salesman asked me "Do you want the red dash?" and I said no. I was over his shoulder and it was a check box he could have checked. That was after selecting the color also. Maybe it would have rejected it after selecting it? Not sure. I might wrap mine or paint to match. Have to do something to make it stand out a bit.

I’ve always had a manual in my jeeps 👌🏼 only way to do it right!
I’m thinking it would be cool to have taken all the lettering and badges and wrapped them in carbon fiber along with the dash . What makes the color matching difficult is that red stitching . My solution for someone different would be to go with the brown interior when ordering a new Jl . The brown interior deletes all the red stitches and only leaves the red locker switch’s and tiny part of the shift knob . meaning it’s a lot easier to paint those small parts only being two pieces . Then you can get black seats with green stitching from Katskinz and have a red free interior .
When I got my 09 Rubi 2 door, it had bad tires, so I asked the dealer what they can do about it. Fast forward a month or so and not only did I get new tires but I got a full set of JL Rubicon wheels and tires. I'm thinking about doing a Rubicon through the Jk theme. I know I want to upgrade to then newer Jk Rubicon hood badge since mine is peeling up, but I don't know if I want a power dome hood or not.
I feel like if you custom order a Rubicon you should be able to choose grey or white for any color exterior.

How did you get the top of the dash off? Wanting to run radar detector direct wire from accessory plug to the rear view mirror,
I only got the “visor” part off, it’s pretty tough but after you remove one screw above the touch screen you have to pull toward you to pop it off.
Would it be possible to do on a Sahara? Mine isn’t colored, its the leather looking dash :/

Been planning that since I ordered mine back in April. Don't know why they didn't maintain the color scheme of black seats /red dash but they put the gray dash in Mojito and Punkin

I'm not a fan but the best part of owning a Wrangler is making it your own...I'm sure there are some things people don't like about my JK but it's mine....I do like the mojito
I think all Wranglers should come from the factory with body-colored dashes. I bought inserts that go over the dash, the fit is very good, they just stick on with two sided tape. Now my dash is firecracker red and matches the body. You can find these on eBay for about $35.
Can I put that in my sports s model JL or it’s only for rubicon?

i thought all JLs or at least rubicons had red dash with black interior and gray dash with tan interior. i'm pretty sure i've seen another mojito with red dash on JL forum. i also heard it was optional with the rubi's. i am still waiting on my 2 door sting gray rubicon with black cloth interior. i really hope it has the red dash.
Regardless of interior color, Mojito, hella Yella, and punk’n all got the gray dash (even if rubicon) and as far as I know the system when ordering would not allow a red dash option. All three grays, ocean blue, white, and black should have a red dash if Rubi so you should be good 👍🏼

I tried this with my Mojito. I swapped with a forum member in New York. I thought I wanted it really bad, until I was done with the swap. I spent the whole ride home convincing myself I would grow to like it. I grew to hate it. Eventually I disliked it so much, I took it out, had it color matched Mojito, removed the rubicon letters, the Jeep letters, and had the tow hooks color matched, and plastic dipped the trail rated badge. I removed all exterior red that I could. I have pics on the Jlwrangler forum post#74 in the link below. But I do believe you are currently the only Mojito Jeep to have it. I’m glad it worked out for you and you like it. Happy modding.

Yea my personally opinion but I think they offer this color and the yellow without the red and have color matched dash pieces and stitching.

It seems leaving the dash panel in place and masking the rest of the dash and painting it instead would be alot easier.
It actually be pretty difficult compared to justvtaking the dash out. Unless you are willing to take the time to mask off everything on the interior (windshield, steering wheel, gauge cluster, a-pillars etc) since there will be a lot of overspray. Even if you are talking about hand painting it, it would still take you longer to mask and paint (enough to make it look clean) than it would to take the dash off
What did you do with the panels which came on your Rubi? I have a MOAB with leather wrapped panels i'm thinking of swapping out for a set of the rubicon dash panels....might be interested in your take offs if you still have them....if not where did you get the red ones....from the dealer? My wrangler is firecracker red and think ordering red ones might clash a little with the body color.
I still have the gray factory dash, I was thinking about wrapping it but I am really satisfied with the red dash so I could probably part ways with the factory on. The red I ordered through mopar parts department if you wanted to go that route

I believe they should fit fine, I don’t believe there are any differences besides leather/red, or gray. The red dash cost me somewhere around 350, but I could probably let you have the gray dash for 200 if that works for you

Wait a minute! A Mojito Jeep should have a green matching dash to the exterior color similar to every Jeep made until 1986! A matching color dash to the exterior color (and inside exposed door trim) would be a throwback to the CJ era and look awesome! Has no one done this?! It seems like the most obvious choice to do.
Jeep missed a marketing opportunity with the JL. They should have made the dash thin aluminum instead of plastic and made it match exterior body color and they could have had ads noting the return of the metal dash to Jeeps.
But alas, to each his own. But I do predict that Ben may eventually paint his red dash Mojito color. It would be truly unique!
I have seen one on the forums I believe. It wasn’t my cup of tea, it almost made it feel too “plasticy” to color match the outside. I prefer accent colors! And I do have my silver dash still so maybe I will mess around with some wrap and have a second option in case I want to switch again!
The gray oem dash looks and feels like plastic, but the red oem dash fools people into thinking it is metal. What is needed is the aftermarket to come up with a thin aluminum overlay of the current plastic JL dash. Then color matching with metal will get rid of the plasticly feel.
I’m sure the aftermarket will come up with something! It’s still a fairly new platform so only time will tell
Add color matching stitching and leather too and just plain black decals they would have good looking jeep.
