    10 Tips:
    #1 flip your hair upside down to rinse your conditioner
    #2 rinse your hair last with cold water in the shower
    #3 use a t shirt or microfiber towel to wrap your hair after a shower
    #4 re-wet your hair before you apply products and brush out knots
    #5 use a lite cream/leave in conditioner and then a gel or mousse
    #6 use the right diffuser (unless you prefer air dry) start on low heat
    #7 gently shake/massage from the roots without disturbing top of hair (for volume)
    #8 use hair spray without harsh chemicals to lock in curls. scrunch and diffuse
    #9 use a silk pillowcase
    #10 don't touch your hair throughout the day

    oh my gosh. I am mixed, black & white, and I never really grew up knowing how to take care of my hair. I used to hate my curls because they were crazy and difficult to manage and I hated the shrinkage and volume I had. I've watched endless, and I mean endless, videos of curly haired girls giving tips and tricks. I've never seen a single video where I have the majority of the products already. I have a decent diffuser, cream, mousse, silk pillowcases, etc. I'm going to try all of your tips combined tonight and see how different my hair is. thank you so much. I've had all of these steps all these years but didn't put it all together.

    her tips
    1.flip your head upside down when rinsing out the conditioner
    2.use cold water rinse before exiting the shower
    3. don't use towels to dry hair, use an old t-shirt or microfiber instead
    4. re-wet your hair after its been in the towel before styling, and brush out the tangles
    5. use a light cream or leave-in conditioner then a gel/mousse
    6.gave a good diffuser head without a dish shape, and start without touching the curls
    7. shake from roots by going underneath by the temples and don't disturb the curls
    8.use maximum hold hair spray or finishing spray with light and scrunch in to blend into curls
    9. use a silk pillowcase to sleep on
    10. don't touch your hair throughout the day!

      c h r i s t i n a girl same. It might be because our hair is low porosity. Even when I’m in the shower and my hair is soaking wet there is still frizz and then I come out and my hair is dry and frizzy and some parts don’t even look wet. I of course do not know if this is your exact case because I have never seen your hair so take that with a grain of salt. I’m just basing this off of my own experience but u should still def do some research.

      Try deep conditioning with a mask that says for moisture. 30 minutes. Use leave ins, that helps with additional moisture, see how often you are washing your hair or if you are using a very harsh shampoo.I still get frizz here and there, sometimes it looks dry, it is a trial an error with products.

      make sure you are using the right products for your hair type, i personally like using a sulfate free shampoo wash it off then use a silicone free deep conditioner and wash it and apply a leave in conditioner and a styler while my hair is still wet and seal in the moisture with a little bit of olive oil

      Me too, Azal! I had gone back to straightening it once a week but now, someone recommended a leave-in that works better for me than any Shea Moisture I'd tried (soo many,) and now, with Jayme Jo's help, I'm ready to try again!

    • @Randaakarim
      @Randaakarim Před 3 lety +1

      @@gamerkef which leave in do you use?

    • @gamerkef
      @gamerkef Před 3 lety

      @@Randaakarim Hi Randa! My coworker recommended Desert Essence Coconut Soft Curls Hair Cream to me. You can get it on the Desert Essence site or on Amazon. It has silicone in it so if you're no-cones, this one won't work. However, I've realized that silicones seem to work for the canopy of my hair since it really tends to be much dryer than the rest and will have a lot more shrinkage without the cones. I have at least 3 textures going on and the canopy is either 3c or 4a where the rest is 3a and b. Also, now, I use a Denman brush because I've noticed whenever I put any product at all on any hair that's not the canopy (the bottom and sides,) it weighs it down and straightens out. The Denman brush will curl it back up within a few minutes after I'm done detangling. It's been a minute since I watched it but I am pretty sure I learned that from this vid or one of @Jayme Jo's other vids because before watching this, I really had no idea how to do my hair except to straighten it.
      For shampoo, conditioner and deep conditioner though, I use Maui Moisture that is free of all of the things, to limit silicone use. I also got a cut recently that took off the last of an old keratin salon treatment that I had forgotten was in there that I had tried when my hair was super short. The keratin treatment pretty much made it so that the bottom few inches of my hair couldn't retain moisture and they didn't curl up either. It made the bottom few inches of the canopy, the curliest bits in the back, feel either crazy dried out or dead, while the rest felt healthy and fine. My hair is much happier now with the treated ends gone!
      I hope some of this helps! Take care!! XD

    • @Randaakarim
      @Randaakarim Před 3 lety +1

      @@gamerkef holy shit you're literally describing my hair!!! I have super tight curls at the top and roots that's (3C I think) then no moisture at the bottom of the outer layer so it doesn't curl up at all, even with the brush, the diffuser, or scrunching the hair. That's so me the way you described that part of your hair is healthy then the back and other parts are more dead.
      Do you use hair gel btw? And would you be willing to post a link with a picture of what your hair looked like before and now? Thank you

To take care of it I follow the same steps but I have to add some different products since my scalp is sensible to certain products.

    I can’t believe it took me this long to find this video. This is the best video for tips I have ever seen. Not only is she thorough, but she’s realistic and she realizes that you don’t need one product to take care of your hair. Other videos I have seen have told me to get one product and that is what works for the video so they are useless, but not this video. Thanks!
