Another idea for the 4wd system to work, well maybe abit of a longshot if you can get one a S40 t5r Awd gearbox and transferbox maybe on them lines.
I know of a few that's Awd the MK2 and I'm heading that route with my st fingers crossed 🤞🏼. Apart from saving up for a complete mk3 rs rear subframe+axle among many other bits on the list before the project starts 😎

as a MKIII FoST owner this is what we've needed. the 2.0 Ecoboost is amazing, the 2.3 ecoboost not so much. neither compare to the 2.5 cyl Duratec Monster

I imagine you will need some serious custom electrical to communicate the can signals from control modules thats gonna take a very good spark to combine the pair rather you than me 😆 but seems a nice achivement and theres nothing there imposible keep at it guys the 5 pot spitting out 800 ponnys in drift mode will be ken block stuff.

I’ve seen mk2 4x4 kits where they use the rear diff assembly from the ecosport or Kuga maybe, but if you could get this talking to the GKN system then crikey Moses. You could run 400-500bhp all day long without a worry.

I don't think I have seen a MK3 have ANY sort of engine swap, has anyone else? Not only will you be the first to swap to the 5 pot, you might be the First to do a full engine swap in general (I'm not talking about ST or Fusion block swaps, that's basically the same engine, doesn't count).
I had dreams of seeing an Ecoboost V6 swap (Edge ST, Raptor or even Ford GT engine) but I don't think it is even possible to fit. I'm guessing not.

Alot of cool 5 cylinder Volvo motors out there. Volvo D5, Volvo 2.3 T5, Volvo 2.4 LPT. The advantage on the 2.3 and 2.4 5 cylinders are you just need rods and a big turbo to make 500hp the 2.5T needs sleeves, rods and big turbo to make 500hp. Much more expensive. And I don't need to explain why it would be cool to have a 5 cylinder turbo diesel in a Focus like the Volvo D5
