I love this version of Double Dragon. This game may be 20 years old now, but it has withstood the test of time. And its always a pleasure to return to.
Best Double Dragon hands down. Even looks good on a 49" screen. Only thing is to play 2 player, you need 2 carts and 2 GBAs... and the games cost more than the GBAs!!!
Finally addressed the "Bros before Hoes" Issue; Just because one of them gets married, doesn't mean you don't get the honor of being the Groom's Best Man.
These side scrolling beat 'em ups are much more fun in 2 player co-op mode. I recommend *Final Fight 3* on the SNES and *Streets of Rage Remake* for you to try as both those games have a CPU controlled partner you can play with. The next best thing to playing cooperatively with an actual friend.
I think the NES version Double Dragon II still has the best design. They could make a Double Dragon universe where you can choose whatever you want: - DD1/2/3 style, or even neon, etc - which character you want, Renzou, Chin, etc - and 4 player coop
At least with the modern re-release, Co-Op is easier to do. Back then, it was 2 GBAs with 2 copies of this game and a Link Cable. Either that or 2 GBAs and cables to a Gamecube with one copy of the game
This is just using an emulator. I don't know much about how the GBA player works, but the normal set up for multiplayer would be two GBAs connected to each other with the GBA link cable.

hello, I downloaded the gba emulator on windows pc, I downloaded the double dragon Advance 1 player game everything works fine, I try to configure or 2 joysticks and I can't get it to start in 2 player mode one joypad moves the other doesn't moves, when I select 2 player mode the countdown 9-8-7 goes down to 0 and gives me an error, but I see that you can play with 2 player, how do you do it ??
Not every GBA emulator supports multiplayer. I would suggest using mGBA for multiplayer in this game. I specifically used mGBA-nightly-2016-10-13, although the newest version might work for this game. If not, the one I used should work.

The version I listed is on page 6 of the nightlies. You are going to file>new multiplayer window, right? Two windows of the game need to be open for multiplayer to work.

Have you ever heard of punctuation? Damn. Despite Double Dragon Advance being the pinnacle of the series, it was made with a small budget as more of a love letter to the series. It's obviously a passion project. It sold alright but not well enough to warrant them taking the chance on a sequel. They borrowed elements, baddies and stages from various double dragon games. I would love if they would have made a sequel, though, myself... inspired by DD 2 The Revenge. But I wouldn't bother with the 3rd it was just too awful. it'd be like attempting to polish a turd.

I've played this game so many times.......... alone 😅 it's nice to watch this 2 player game

How to play in 2 player whit emulator?
I consider mGBA to be the best option for multiplayer. You can easily start a 2 player game by starting the game and then opening an extra game window.
