In our fifth episode of Golden Hour, we invited Kazutaka Kodaka - who is well known for creating & writing the Danganronpa franchise. Having just released his latest work(Master Detective Archives: Rain Code), he was happy to visit our studio to share drinks with Toyama. Kodaka is acknowledged for his writing, so naturally the two discussed their differences in how they approach story writing.

それぞれ会社を設立し、自らの仲間たちとゲームを創造する。キャリアや思想で共通点も多い二人が織りなす貴重な時間‐Golden Hourをお楽しみください。

Kodaka's company sounds amazing, like a bunch of friends collaborating on creative projects without as much of the usual pressures and stresses that come with game development.
It is still somewhat mind blowing to see someone so legendary just having a beer with people. I have an almost religious reverence for Silent Hill and the Siren games, and the creator is just hanging out pouring blue moon for Kodaka-san, amazing.
Thank you for watching!
i love insight of how gamemakers actually do things
Thank you for watching!
love these interactions with the many different great developers from japan, wish you all the best bokeh, hope the game turns out amazing
Thank you!
I absolutely loved rain code im glad you guys did this interview with kodaka san! I'm certain splitterhead will be ground breaking as well!
Uploaded 30 minutes ago? Perfect timing to watch while breakfasting 💝

Best wishes to the team on the Slitterhead project ❤
We haven't seen much, but the game looks promising so far.
Something that I like a lot about Kodaka is that he reads plenty of literature, you can see in this video all the books and other works that he mentions. Thanks to him I've discovered a lot of good writers, such as Keigo Higashino, who writes very good mystery novels.
This really is a precious interview. Thanks a lot for sharing this with us.
Thank you!
Genius work for 6y on script for raincode? No wonder it's best game script I witnessed in my 25y of gaming.
Amazing work, alwasy excited for the next video!
野狗子の完成を楽しみに待ってます。
SIREN一作目発売20周年おめでとうございます。
8月3日は異界入りの日ですね!!
such a great video format, it should continue even after the release, interviewing developers and artists from all over the world.
It's great to learn how different developers approach game creation, and it's inspiring when they show the love for the craft.
That's a reason why I prefer indie and AA games than AAA. I am not naive, I know indies and AA want to make a living, making enough to have a good life is good and everyone should be able to, but it's also clear that they make games out of love or passion and NOT JUST for the money. That's why indie and AA games feel more authentic, fresh, interesting, meaningful. Not to mention, they have enough space for experimentation or go crazy and weird with their ideas. You can't do that in the AAA scene. They have to follow trends, they can't try anything new, the must obey formula. It's sad, honestly.
It would be a dream come true if you invited Hidetaka Miyazaki or Goichi Suda! The greatest figures in the gaming industry)
Thank you for the new interview, very relaxing! Looking forward to the release of SLITTERHEAD!!!! Maybe next guest Hideo Kojima? ;) ;) ;)
No, hes got no talent left.
NO, PLEASE NO!
@@mazek9034 Why are you guys against this? 🤔
Any chance you might have Takayoshi Sato on the show? The man’s been untraceable for a while now, and I would love to hear what he has to say about the industry today. And of course reminisce about SH1 which is, still to this day, one of the scariest weirdest games I’ve had the pleasure of experiencing!
Hello, I’m planning on visiting Japan in July and I would really like to visit your studio to meet Toyama-san!! I’m a fan since his Silent Hill (1999)!!!
