    Thank you Sir for saying that it's a BANDAID fix, I respect that. I have a small Dyna performance shop and use FUELING components on occasion, first class. Nice to hear that someone as PROFESSIONAL as myself, isn't afraid to say how H-D really dropped the ball on the M8. I build, race, ride, eat, and sleep the Twin Cam, and have ZERO interest in the M8. You folks are first class in my book, thank you. 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

    Why spend that when you can just buy the correct fix which is a 2019 stock m8 oil pump backing plate with oring I have installed them on bikes with sumping issues and fixes the issue. Harley knows this and has put this kit on every 2019 and up m8 and they recommend it when ever upping the cc or a cam

      In our testing we see inconsistent results with the oring on the back of the oil pump. The crankcase is marginal at best for the 107ci engines. Now with customers adding on a larger displacement big bore kits you will naturally see more leak down through the pistons and cylinders. The dipstick allows the pressure to be vented. This is more or less a band-aid for a poorly designed engine.

      Wrench Tech My17 RG was fine at stage 1, uses a little more oil than any of my twin cams. I do the RS 468, HD upgraded oil pump and some S&S goodies, this bike runs great! If I am really giving it the beans and getting up in the rpm’s it will seep oil out around the dip stick. OK I guess it’s getting the vented dip stick, and some day a top end to fix all the blow by?

    So this should help minimise oil blow by out of air filter?

    • @DONALD-MAGA
      @DONALD-MAGA Před 4 lety +2

      @Joseph Marton It's not a stipulation, it's a tech tip. You can use synthetic and it will not affect the operation of the vent.
      TECH TIP: Feuling highly recommends staying off the rev limiter and running conventional oil in the M8 engines to help maintain ring seal and minimize blow by.
      Besides that, there are other professionals that recommend only running JASO certified synthetic oil in your M8. Have you ever watched Kevin Baxter videos?

      I notice FuelingParts doesnt respond/ answer any technical questions in these comments box but they do seem to respond to "How can I buy it?" However your question is similar to mine..on the M8, if you vent this lower, is it also the exact pressure being would also be pushed into the air intake (if you didnt vent the lower).. If its the same, then the answer to your question is yes, drop both lines into one catch can.. But if the answer is the same pressure, the maybe you won't need both venting mods.

    What is the warranty on these. I purchased one in Sept 2020. I just did a service on my bike (harley heritage 114 2020) as I was attempting to unscrew the head to this product the dipstick snapped in half where I a wrench in the wrench flat. I had to put my stock dipstick back in.

      No because this doesnt replace a part you can't just go and slap back on. If you need to take the bike in for service, you just grab your old dipstick and put it back in.
      This isn't like replacing an exhaust or something in the power train. It's just a dipstick.

    • @bloodymarvelous4790
      @bloodymarvelous4790 Před 3 lety +1

      @Joseph Marton And you let them get away with that? Really? What if the road is stickier than normal, would that void warranty as well? What if you had head wind instead of tail wind? Better not ride the bike then, cause it may cause the valve spring to break.
      I'd fight them tooth and nail if they tried that BS with me.
      The M8 engine is a great engine, but it's also a relatively new engine, and some teething problems are to be expected. Crankcase sumping has been resolved with the 2020 oil pump. Transmission oil dumping into the primary has been resolved with a venting hole. Clutch slave cylinder malfunction has been resolved with a new model in 2018. On the whole though, the engine performs remarkably well.
      I ran my Stage I M8 for almost 35,000 miles without any issue. Unfortunately, my bike got stolen a few months back. I've ordered a new one which will be delivered early next year, and I've decided to go big on this one. Literally.
      A Stage III 128" from Fuel Moto
      Wood 22X-E cam and Alpha lifters
      Dynojet PV2 and Target Tune
      Feuling cam plate, RS oil pump, vented dipstick and valve springs
      S&S tappet cuffs, head bolts, rockers and rocker studs
      Dark Horse compensator
      Barnett clutch
      Ward ported manifold
      SE A/C and throttle body
      ThunderMax oil cooler fan
      and Jackpot pipes.
      That means pretty much the entire drivetrain is getting a makeover.
      Expecting 130~140 hp and 140~150 ft lbs, with the reliability I need for the miles I ride.
