He's definitely committed, the fooling around part is because of his nerves, polynesian's laugh when they are nervous. His playing and singing proves he's committed.

Stan, If my memory serves me, you were the same laughing and joking around but focused on your goal 'to win'. You were amazing and that's why you won. He knows what he has to do to win. I can see he has certain standards and I don't even know him. Sad that your comment Was so harsh. This guy is amazing and possibly shy. You of all people should know that some people hide behind there smile 'as he', it's away of releasing nerves. It's not easy pro forming in front of thousands. Stan, your a judge on this programme, but we are also judges and thousands are watching you to. I held a lot of respect for you but this time you've dropped a notch or 3.
You are correct, Stan still jokes around, he said himself hes a clown. What you have to remember is these types of shows are heavily edited and staged plus the producers expect the judges to be harsh coz it makes for what they call "entertainment". I was at a couple of the the nz xf live auditions and also the live bootcamp shows and what they are showing on TV now are not what was happening at the live shows...plus like I said it's heavily edited. I'm unimpressed with the way they are presenting these live auditions on TV. I'm sure Stan wants whats best for Nofo and to take it seriously coz perhaps it will make his rise to stardom a lot easier. Stan suffered a lot of negativity showing his personality and perhaps he wants Nofo to avoid heading down that road. Oh and Stan only won idol coz the Australian public voted not becoz he had the best voice. Essentially these shows are about who wants to spend money to vote which is sad. The judges are there to collectively choose a variety of artists and mentor their respective categorys. (and shuush dont tell but Stan gets the girls category anyway, Natalia gets the boys)
Boys I agree with both of your comments it made me see more than what it is. Yeah its totally all just shows. But one Thing I'm going to mention to Stan is that, hes not even that great I dont really get into his music just sounds like rehashing pop from 2000 or 1990's. Then again im into Rocky sounds. I just hope people dont look at Stan and make him the king of Pop.

Really? Your in aotearoa Stan, you of all people should know that we have a certain sense of humour that only new Zealanders get. When he had to perform, he performed. Just because he jokes around doesn't make him any less a performer. The one person I thought would never degrade an artists integrity was you Stan.
I remember when Stan auditioned in Australia and he was laughing and carrying on very similar and now hes telling someone else you can't do that and be taken seriously. Get real Stan, the guys got talent and he was just nervous
Hmmm love stan walker but I clearly remember how goofy jester-like and giggly the dude was on Aussie idol.... Professionalism came afta the audition.... Afta all the work n hard training so hopefully one has not forgotten.... Mel well... Haven't heard much from this chick since all saints or what evz the girl group was called.... This dude is awesome on point vocally and instrumentally that should be core focus at this point....

Aus/NZ is yet to produce the singer songwriters who will progress a down under sound complete with lyrics to match and that will spawn a great following.

If he had audition on the X Factor in America he would of got all YES and they would like him because he makes them and the crowd laugh. So far, he is my fav in dis competition(of legit potentials on this show), I like how he sang it, nothing I culd complain bout the performance, it was pleasant to the ear, hope he kicks it in high gear come next round, but remember ur not only competing with ur country, also da world(wherewatching), so show us wat u got, lol john legend popped in mind, wen he was singing, good job, peace.

Mel you're very very unprofessional, this competition is based on someones abilities and skills not on their personality and if you like it or not, you can't give him a NO because he is joking and you don't like it, he is an incredible performer and I hope he gets as far as possible just to stick it to you 💪👊

You know if stan had said "you got da chop" in that tone to me, right before my audition I'd get quite defensive.. It sounded like stan was degrading him by saying "you were here last year and what happened, YOU GOT THE CHOP"
The attitude all started when Stan asks Nofo if he is there to redeem himself, why does he have agree with their interpretation of why he is back, why does he have to redeem himself if the reason he didn't make it past boot camp is no fault of his own??? Sometimes these judges are just petty asses.... He shows that he is serious about his music, so serious that he plays every day for the love of it, and to earn a living....

I actually prefer dis judging panel, den dere ones before, im frm usa, so I dont kno much other den wat it has on utube of xfactor nz, but I dont really pick stan walker dat much, I dont mind, but sometimes hes a kiss up, but da more I watch I get use to him as a judge, he can b funny abit, n for dose dat dont kno, I googled sum of da judges, n da 2 females r british, n da 2 dudes is nz kiwis, brown one is maori, dey all had experience w/dis business, which qualifies dem as judges, as u see dere. I hope nz xfactor keeps growing n gets better, even tho I herd its scripted or watever, but im willing to look pass dat, cuz I just want to see nz talent, keep it going. :P

Where did my earlier comments go? Just disappeared. Weird. Maybe someone didnt want me speaking the truth: that the producers of this show decide who goes through, not the judges. Same with Idol. A friend of mine auditioned for idol and told me it was scripted and that a producer sat out of view of the camera and told the judges who to put through. But dont get me wrong, the talent of the performers is real, at least the good performers. You cant fake talent.

Doing what you love is about working hard and being professional in what you do but if your not having fun and being told who to be then theres no point, which would mean you would have the wrong mentors in life. Watched a few auditions the other night and they were all shit, but this guy's ok. And why does this show always have foreign judges, they need to get some more Kiwi judges, both those female judges are British, when theres plenty of Kiwi artists that would suffice like Bic/Boh Runga, Anika Moa, Aaradhna, Kimbra, Lorde, or even some more male judges like Dave Dobbyn, Che Fu, Tim Finn and a number of others. Not that judges are really necessary since im sure the producers decide who makes it. Just my thoughts.
