Ted was such a gentleman. I am sorry for his loss. I have been a police officer over 30 years and have a few “Teds” I will never forget.

Well, the walk-in clinic people did tell him to go to A&E, which they shouldn't have done.
My heart goes out to Mrs Ted. I lost my husband recently; his death was sudden and unexpected…and I found him dead in our barn. I don’t know if knowing her husband was dying mad his death any easier for her, but I know the pain and agony she’s suffering. My prayers for her and their daughter!

I love the way British medical personnel talk to their patients. Kind and real. Not a lot of medical mumbo-jumbo. They seem very approachable, unlike a lot of US practitioners. I work in medicine and try to relate to patients the way these folks do. Bravo NHS!
One of my Dad's nieces worked in accident and emergency and is an aged care specialist. She's seen a lot of this and communicates to her patients plainly.
I do love how international and diverse British hospitals are. People from all over the world working under one roof.

I was a registered nurse for many years here in NZ 🇳🇿, with ED experience as well.
These guys are a phenomenal team, and the department runs like a well poled machine. They have my absolute respect!

Doing CPR is absolutely exhausting, doing it successfully is even harder.
Yes it is I have had to do it 6 times it's not easy .But you have to do it till the Ambulance gets there
@@jackiemarini3203 I have only done it in a hospital setting so it was a team effort, even so I felt like I had done a massive workout the next day.
I've done it twice, "in the wild", the first time with the 911 operator telling me what to do. Neither was successful...first guy's heart had literally exploded and the second was well gone before he was found. I hope I never have to do it again, but at least I now know what to do. CPR is rarely successful. especially "in the wild", but the small chance you can give someone by doing it is worth the effort. Thankfully, I was never alone when I had to do it.
I have definitely had it be successful!! Please don’t have the attitude that CPR is pointless. It really can be the difference between life and death!

As an American, I can really appreciate the way GB manages their A &E ( emergency room). When a trauma comes in, it’s not a bunch of people barking orders and questions…and as a patient, you can call an ambulance without the worry of how to pay for it.
And for those wondering, “ Sisters “ are senior nurses….what we call charge nurses. Bless them all …. I would never go back to working in a hospital. But I do miss the patients 🥹

It IS companionship. I grew up with adults so saw married couples who started in the 70s. An aunt and uncle were neighbours and she married him in 1975 aged 18, so has known him her entire life.
The Brits are so polite and undemanding. Lovely people 😊

Medicine is Team work and everybody is a vital part! I admire everybody doing their job well, no matter what that job is! 💜
My dad died in the hospital all alone since it was over night and we were not there. One of my brothers had walked into his room and was talking to him not realizing. He just thought dad was asleep. The staff didn't even cover him. When my mom passed away that same brother and myself were with her. She was completely asleep and then just passed. The rest of my brothers and sisters came in after that (they didn't get there in time). I imagine it was really hard for Ted's wife and the rest of the family if they were not there with him.
We never want to see our loved ones pass but it is comforting to know they passed in their sleep - no pain, no fear. Lost my husband 3 weeks ago. He just fell asleep in front of the tv. So very sorry for all those that grieve but try and take comfort from an easy passing.

I love those who are still affected by the distress of their patients. I would much rather be treated by that person than those who are detached. I don't mean that critcally, though. I do understand why some have to shut off their feelings at work. It must be brutal to see what they see every day.

I know what you mean; it's mentally traumatic. My grandfather passed away in my grandmother's arms, so for years, she also carried that deep, inner sadness. I felt it, too, because Grandpa Clifford was a real father-figure to me and really helped me see just how important it is to love without conditions. I deeply miss him, but I know he's praying for me in paradise. This brings me peace and joy whenever I speak or write about him. May your husband rest in peace, and may his memory be eternal.

So very sorry for Ted's wife...it's so hard to live without that one special person...the one we fell in love with & spent so much time with...I know, because I lost my sweet, loving husband too, almost 29 years ago now...not one day passes, still, that I don't miss him dearly...Blessings to her & may she find peace some way, in her life.♥

I had a very similar work accident that hurt my finger, and got to a doctor within an hour - but we had to wait another 90 minutes for the swelling to go down,
so the four hours the guy waited, actually helped the doctor to fix the finger.
Amanda is as cute as a button; a cute button with a huge heart and a beautiful soul.

The people in Yorkshire are much more stoic than Londoners. No screaming and carrying on no matter how serious the injury or illness.
The nurses seem so happy. Many of ours are not ,especially the old ones .
They're exhausted, overworked, under paid. Many are working back to back 16 hrs shifts. Many are working with nasty repetitive stress injuries, in constant pain. Oh, and did I mention going from looking after 18 patients to 28?
Many nurses got burnt out working during the pandemic. So many hospitals are running on skeleton crews all the time.
So when you meet a nurse, say thank you.

Oh boy. Asd an Asthmatic that orderly spraying deodorant on him is a big NONO. It sets me off at the best of times. Real bad if I'm so bad to be in A&E. Surely hospital people/workers should be well aware if this.
Certain fragrances set me off, as do some cleaning products. And the asthma isn't the only threat; some scents can give me a migraine, including nausea.
