Walk: Maluri MRT Station to Sunway Velocity Mall

- Join me as we discover the walking distance from Maluri MRT Station to Sunway Velocity Mall via a covered pathway leading to a link bridge so no umbrella required unless it's a heavy downpour.
Maluri MRT Station is located at Jalan Cheras near it's junction with Jalan Peel. The landmarks for this station are Sunway Velocity Mall, Maluri AEON shopping centre, Menara PGRM and Stadium Badminton Cheras.
Furthermore, Maluri MRT station is integrated with Maluri Station LRT Ampang Line via a paid-to-paid linkway which means commuters can transfer to the LRT without needing to buy a new ticket for that extra convenience.

also i recommend turning off the camera when you're at the escalator since ppl can get the wrong idea haha (y'know... upskirt etc)

I see some people asking whether it's better to stop at MRT Cochrane or MRT Maluri. Both can reach Sunway Velocity under sheltered/covered walkway but Maluri is nearer (250m Maluri vs 450m Cochrane). Cochrane walkway is elevated + wider whereas Maluri is on-the-ground + narrower. Also, need to consider if you're on LRT STAR, it's easier to just stop at LRT Maluri (connected to MRT Maluri)
Thanks for the sharing Norf... yes totally agree with you. Once again, it depends on purpose and for example, if someone is meeting their friends for dinner at one of the restaurants located at Nanjing Street, then I'd say MRT Cochrane would be a better choice.

MRT Crochane also can go to Sunway Velocity via pedestrian bypass.
Which would be better? Stopping at Maluri or Crochane?

Most welcome :) Yes you can easily go underground towards AEON Maluri and then come out the mall and walk on the main road about 700m to reach Restoran Char Siew Yoong but do bring an umbrella though for both hot and rainy days.. lol

It depends on your destination of choice, go with Maluri if you want to get into the main shopping mall and Cochrane if you want to get into the sidewalk shops next to the mall (where all the Szechuan steamboat restaurants are located).

Hi Eldrin, that would be Aeon side which means it won't be covered while you still need to cross a smaller road.

Hi Nico... very easy actually. From KL Sentral, just walk over to MRT Muzium Negara Station using the pedestrian walkway. From there it is direct to Maluri MRT Station

Hi, i’m new to kl. I live in Amaya Maluri & was just wondering if the jln cheras bridge connecting to sunway velocity opens as early as 6/6.30am? That’s a concern to me right now as i’m planning to walk instead of taking mrt to cochrane. It would help me out a lot if someone can answer. Thank you in advance!😄
Hi Chelsey, the bridge is always open but if your question is whether the doors of Sunway Velocity are open at that time, sadly I believe they are not.

Hi. Is maluri nearer to the mall or cochrane?
Distance wise into the actual part of the mall, Maluri is closer. But in the event of a very heavy rain, then I suggest Cochrane instead.

Firstly, congrats on your new job! The hospital is just right next door to the mall. If you watch the video, as you enter the mall, go down the escalator and walk outside then turn right. Walk all the way till the end of the mall and you will find the hospital.

Hi there! Can i check with you from KLIA how do i go to this Station?
Oh very easy, you can do it 2 ways:
1] Fast but more expensive = KLIA Express Train to KL Sentral, then take a short walk to Muzium Negara MRT Station and take the train directly to Maluri MRT Station
2] Slower but cheaper option = KLIA Express Train to Putrajaya Sentral Station, then take the MRT to Tun Razak Exchange MRT Station and change train to Maluri MRT Station
My advice is to take option 1 because you will save a lot of headaches, its so much less complicated and save you half the travel time.
