Stephane Matteau & Howie Rose Re-Live Iconic Goal & Call | New York Rangers - Sport
One of the greatest calls in sports history
Absolutely, after the game, Fans were calling in complimenting Howie for his iconic, legendary call of the goal.
Dan, your MESSAGE SUMS IT UP Sir!
I get chills today and im not a Rangers Fan
Stephane Matteau and Howie Rose! What a real moment for a NY Rangers fan to see them together and watch the most iconic goal who send the Blueshirts to the finals!
That short was done with class and a ton of nostalgia.
He’s right it does never get old. I like the longer version of the call that begins with Howie saying Rangers changing. You can tell in Howie’s voice that something was brewing. Keenan was a pretty good coach
Greatest moment in Rangers history
The funny thing is, is that if the Rangers lose to Vancouver, this moment is a nice footnote, but ultimately a symbol of how the Rangers just couldn't ever get it done. And sure, the Stanley Cup was the ultimate goal, and that carries its own sweet memories, but in terms of unbridled bliss, I can't imagine another moment will top this. I still tear up when I watch this video, no matter how many times I've seen this.
Was going to a birthday party with a friend and when Matteau scored. I almost rolled my car on the Hutchison River Parkway. Great memories.
Glad you didn't.
This was so cool!! Got to meet Stephane Matteau a few years ago and can say he's an awesome guy! What a great moment in Rangers history.
Man, that was really nice. Biggest sports moment in a lifetime of watching sports.
Remember it like it was yesterday. I was 17 and my best friend who is a Devils fan were watching the whole series together. To this day I remind him😂😂😂
Best goal call in NHL history. Coming from a Sabres fan that loves all of RJ’s calls.
Thanks! Great moment in Rangers history.
I will be glad to say it: MATTEAU,MATTEAU, MATTEAU,
STEPHAN MATTEAU!!!!!!!!!!!
Howie’s call of Matteau’s game 3 OT winner was also a great call.
Actually it was 2 OT's
Thanks Stephane you gave me the greatest memories true Ranger Blue ! Greatest call in sports history i will remember it for a lifetime.
He scored another OT winner in NJ that same series. Gets forgotten about. I was there. What a great time
Great memory!
I’ll never forget it as long as I live
Still brings me the chills Thank you Howie and MATTEAU- MATTEAU -MATTEAU- STEAPHAN MATTEAU !!!!
Matteau still looks in game shape
I was only 6 when this happened, but my family and I remember very well that night. We were in our Car leaving the Mets Game listening to game 7 on the Radio as well as a dozen other fans in the parking lot! The second Matteau scored, the whole Shea Stadium Parking Lot was honking like crazy!
the place exploded, great goal
Absolutely!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LGR!!!
2:50. Yep. We do.
I was watching on television and I wasn't sure at all that it was Matteau's call... from the tv viewer it did look like Ea Tikkanen scored... in fact if you listen to Sam Rosen's television call he does not mention Matteau he just said " the Rangers score"... in the bedlam it was hard to tell, just elation and relief... but hearing the call days later and all the years since... yes every Ranger fan gets the chills
I can still listen to Howie call as a best music to my ears. Valery Zelepukin was a good friend of mine. Ironically I was so mad at him for scoring that goal with 7 ticks on the regular time clock.
Dated a Devils fan in the early 2000s. We still talk hockey now and then. She is still upset about 94, even though Brodeur and Company went out to win three cups.
Without Stephen matteau there would be no Stanley cup!!
thought it was tikkanen at that time!
WHERRS THE PUCK?😂😂😂
Only 1 Cup in 83 years !!!! LMAO
