OP shouldn’t remarry his ex-wife. If he does want to remarry her, he should draw up a prenup that’s draconian enough to hold up in court. Personally, the most I’d do is act like the divorce never happened but never get married again. That way, when she inevitably cheats again, you don’t have to go through another costly divorce.

OP honestly should really do the same, I do not judge people who try to make things work because as I told a friend once "You're the only one who has to bear the burdens and you're the only one who gets to reap the rewards in your life. Balance what is true to yourself, what you feel is healthy for you, and what you honestly want to do from within after calm reflection not in the moment". Having said that though.. just some things really stuck out to me from the wife. One of the prominent is during the initial confrontation she said she would drop Emily from her life but made no assurance of dropping Mike. Now you could argue that it just was automatically implied but specific of language is a very important thing. To me it stuck out more that even in that moment she was still trying to protect that little bit of Mike in her mind, possibly as a chance to foster it for later options. Another is that she didn't rush home because she said what difference would it make, but then you'd likely be in agony away from home with two people who only want to screw, what enjoyment is that? Unless: Mikey boy still meant more than her husband in that moment, and she was making another display of priorities.
I don't think she was as sincere as she said she was and I think that this behavior has an higher than normal for these types of situations to re-emerge.
