    Natasha, this is the texture that I love and want in a fruit cake. Not too dense and not too light. Perfect!

    Hi. Natasha, I used Malta for the sorrel concentrate as you suggested. I loved how this turned out no soaking required, the texture was PERFECT. My family loved it too. No crumbs left at our Christmas lunch this year!!!

    Related but not related. Could Natasha or someone else tell me from experience how many cups of cake batter equals a lb? I have a scale; do I just fill the pan until the scale registers a lb? I'm selling some 1lb black cakes so I'm checking.

    • @Huntington446
      @Huntington446 Před 3 lety +1

      Weigh the pan, so when you put the batter into the pan, just subtract the pan weight for the 1lb cake....easy...some pans are heavy and others are light. hope this helps.

    • @kimtee8961
      @kimtee8961 Před 3 lety +1

      @@Huntington446 Thanks. No worries about that. It's digital so I usually put the pan on, zero the scale then add the content. That way, you only register the weight of the content.

    What ypu're calling cinamon leaf is actualy Bay leaf with which Bay Rum is made,what they call Bay leaf is acctualy Laurier used as a seasoning spice.No offence.

    Sorry darling. Pease redo and upload. You must NEVER add flour and baking powder like like that.
    FIRST, you put your dry ingredients TOGETHER and on the other side, your wet ingredients.
    DRY... Mix your cinnamon (if powdered), flour (sifted) Baking powder, baking soda (if applicable), salt.. etc TOGETHER... then Mix...
    WET... first cream sugar and butter together.
    In a separate bowl... beat eggs (first remove the eyes... can cause rawness... break each egg separately in case one is bad, you never know... then add a lil rose water), blend fruits , sorrel n jam together, then blend.
    Add the eggs to creamed butter and sugar THEN add that to the dry ingredients (already mixed).
    NEVER ADD DRY INGREDIENTS SEPARATELY ON TOP OF YOUR WET INGREDIENTS.
