I'm 59 years old. Your relentlessness in your small engine repair videos motivated me to not give up in troubleshooting my 17-year-old Cub Cadet Commercial Walk Behind. I got it running again without having to take it to a small engine repair shop. I installed a new fuel pump and made an extra effort to get the fuel pump suction line connected to the cylinder head with an airtight seal.

One of those with a manual is dam near unkillable. Plus with the injectors working off oil pressure if youre low on oil it shuts down, cant run.
Used to work at a parts warehouse for diesels, wed tear down the motors for injectors and turbos and such.
Most of what came in had issues like it was siezed or slung a rod.
I mustve touched hundreds if not over a thousand of those motors and maybe 5 id question if itd run again with some fuel and oil.

I have a '99 F350 crew cab 4WD I bought last June from a friend's dad's estate. He passed 3.5 years ago and it was sitting out in a field. First thing was an oil change and 5 tires. Over the next few months it was mechanically refreshed, nav system/head unit, new headliner, new body seals, Bilstein shocks, all new brakes, Gibson headers/SPD Y-pipe mod/ Gibson side exhaust, stripped down to the metal & painted (no rot, PNW truck) to the tune of 3.5 gallons of paint & clear coat...all totalled, I'm in it about $17,500-18, 000. The only thing I regret is that it is a V10 & not a 7.3. Not a huge fan of the Ford Triton/modular garbage. It's okay, but they have too many issues

It's fine to have preferences as far as truck brand, but if you are flipping them, it's good to have experiences with different brands, cause sometimes the best deal is with a brand that isn't your fave. They all have their pros and cons, 7.3's have the cat diesel technology, where if they run low on oil, they can't pump fuel, so they protect the engine, great for if you have a diesel, that gets run by non mechanics. The injectors are real easy to work on, don't need a bunch of fancy tools, or a $10k flow bench to rebuild them. Injector cup rebuild kit with the removal tool is like $80, and I was able to trade about 4hrs of injector rebuilding for a 2000 f550, with a 7.3 and a 6speed manual. It's 2wd, but I have my previous work truck, a 2003 f250 gas/auto, that is 4wd, and much of the parts swap right over. Torque king out of Montana sells a kit to convert a super duty transfer case from married to divorced style, so you can run a transfer case behind a 2wd transmission, for $440, so I'll have a 4x4, f550, with 7.3 powerstroke, a 6 spd manual trans, for like $440 plus the cost of driveshaft shortening. I can sell off the rest of my $500 f250 parts truck and probably make a buck or two as well. My f250 gave me 3 years of hard use, before developing a frame crack due to rust, hit me up if you need some 1999-2003 super duty parts, I'll hook you cheap/free as a thanks for the channel. I'm s good mechanic but your channel has been priceless for learning what will fly and what won't with Vermont's safety inspection process. Keep on trucking.

The difference between the trucks I know of around here and yours? The rust....Dear God the rust. If it were me, and I had paid as little as you did for that F350, I would pull the engine and every usable non rusted part I could get to and salvage and then send the rest to the crusher. Between the engine and the other parts you could pull, you would probably turn a nice profit.
