- At long last my new EZpond Grow-on set up is fully tested and working exactly as I hoped it would so now comes the best bit…….FISH GOING IN.
Watch the video to see all the finishing touches and the first 5 fish going into the Grow-On pond.

Grow on tank is looking good and the plants artificial or otherwise definitely add a nice touch to it until you can get the cladding sorted. Hopefully the fish will really put on some size quickly. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

It’s nice seeing the bottom and sides black…. I wish a pond stayed spotless. Glad all set up ok now. That sanke with the additional sumi to come through could be a real gem!

Hi Phil, I’d be really interested on how you go about cladding the exterior - step by step if possible - I’m guessing it’s straight forward but haven’t seen anybody show how they did it as yet? Great quality build as always.

Looks great how many koi would this hold. In your opinion
Will depend on a lot of variable but I know 2 people with the same or very similar setups and one has 16 fish and the other has 13, all between 20 and 30 cm. I’m looking to grow on some high quality tosai so I will be looking at a max of 12 which will be the 6 x 25 to 28 cm fish I’ve just put in plus 6 new ones. I will soon be adding a tempest to bakki shower just to increase the filtration slightly😊👍
@@TelfordKoiPond thank you for the reply. Just getting into the hobby and I’ve seen these and they look great. It’s either going to be the 500i or the 600i leaning more to the 600i. Will be a basic setup gravity fed easy pod , UV and 1 return.
I’m guessing when koi get too big for the pond it’s fairly easy to move them on? How would you know when they are too big for the pond. Is it just common sense 😂
@@connoryoung8425 if you have the choice of the 2 then definitely go for the 600. That was what I wanted but couldn’t get it in the space I had to play with. TBH you will now when the fish are getting too big but that will be a few years away and yes, as long as you don’t want silly money for them, there is always someone looking for affordable koi. I tend to look at the time I’ve spent with my koi as payment so tend to give my koi away but most of the time the people taking them will insist on paying you something for them👍. Are you going to the big Coventry show next weekend? If you are be sure to come and say hello 😊👍
