You really needed to see this in a theatre. When tensions were running high during the pregnancy scene, the whole theatre was dead silent and squirming. Then a guy sneezed and I seriously thought half the people in the theatre were going to kill the guy. Scared the crap out of us.
Sneezing, snoring, defecating would kill the entire human race.
😂😂😂😂 OMG built their tensions up for the best scene to have it ruined by the sneeze 🤧 of death
At the beginning of the movie, when they pan the camera across the wall, all the newspaper clippings talk about how the monsters have armor. Which is why they didn't shoot them. the military tried and failed. They didn't want to waste bullets and get themselves killed lol. it's such a good movie!!!

About the labour part, in Mozambique there have been reports of women who were pregnant during huge floods and had to seek refuge from the water by climbing on trees. A few have given birth while _on the tree_ , because there was no one coming to help them get out of there. In 2019 one of those women had to wait for two days with her newborn and another one of her children before they found them and rescued the family. I also recall reading about another woman in Mozambique who went through a similar situation years before (in 2000), and she reported seeing crocodiles in the water, while she was giving birth on the tree.
People find a way, so this character with the hurt foot giving birth while she's being chased by monsters... Well, sometimes it's not fiction.

shooting it would have done no good. Like the notes written on the whiteboards said, they are fully armored from top to bottom. the only reason she was able to kill it at the end was that when the girl shoved the ear piece to the microphone, it screwed up it's head and it's armor plating was no longer covering it's brain. THEN she could shoot it

Really great film, and the sequel is great too. Very well thought out movie and more than just a horror film. Emily Blunt is awesome as usual, been a fan of her's since her very small role in the Devil Wear's Prada, don't ask, I saw it while depressed and it was late at night. Anyway, great pick for a movie.

A really fun reaction and a good movie (if you ignore logic and common sense). Creatures with extremely sensitive hearing and no one in the military/scientists had tried different frequencies to disable them? Even with armor, those creatures are soft inside, blood and tissue, so a bomb would kill them via kinetic energy, without needing to penetrate the armor. If their hearing is so great that they hear from miles away, they would hear a human being breathing if in the same room with them. Without supernatural factor, those things would have been killed within a month by the world military.
The military probably got wiped out on Day 1. They wouldn't survive long enough to figure out a weapon that would kill the monsters, they'd get taken out when they tried to shoot at them. They could probably hear breathing in the same room, unless there were other sounds, like a ticking timer or running water.
not so simple when you take in to account the volume of the creatures and what they are capable of. good luck
Man seeing this in the theater was amazing! The whole crowd was sooooo quiet and respectful to the theme you could hear a pin drop! the experience was incredible!

The point of film (especially sci-fi or fiction) is to suspend your imagination. Too many reactors now watching films with zero ability to ever get genuinely invested
I had contractions that slowly got progressively worse over 36 hours until I went into active labor at 2 o'clock in the morning. The nurses were like "Don't push don't push wait for the doctor." When I say I had no control over my body...I really was trying not to push but that was impossible. My body went into autopilot when my son was ready to come out. 😂 I never hollered or heard of anyone else be extra loud when giving birth...I think movies play that up abit. 😆😁😄

If she'd shot the monster when it first came down to the basement, the other 2 would have showed up and they wouldn't have known its weakness.

@@J_EOMReacts I also think that while they knew they had armor plating, including around the head, she would have to wait for that perfect moment when the brains or soft area was exposed. If you remember, when they listen super close they open up the armor and expose the soft big listening ear things. They had never been that close to them, personally, before this. So her shooting right away would also be bad. The hearing aid tweaked it out and it was all biffed up when it got up again...then BAM. Again, loved this reaction. I saw it as a new one and knew this was must see. Cheers.

I don't scare easily. I find scary movies to be.....eh. But this movie had me in a tizzy. My anxiety went through the roof. My blood pressure went up and I was so tense through the whole thing. Not to mention our daughter was two months old when I first saw it, so kids in peril = nope for me. This is the only movie I have seen that truly had me scared.
25:40 she couldn’t shoot it. They’re armored. Shooting would waste their bullets. That’s why they need the hearing aid to get it to open the head so they can shoot THAT. It’s the only way it can die

Glad you saw this! Watching horror films is NOT my cup of tea but this was a worthy exception and I could barely wait for the sequel! Came out May 28,2021. Finally! After 14 extra months of waiting! Was suppose to be out March 2020.

They are armored. The high frequency cause their armor to open hence making them vulnerable. That's why she didn't shoot it until the weak spot was exposed. Also, that is factually what the inner ear looks like. I know it's gross, bit if you ever dug out your dog's ear wax you'll notice it looks real similar :) love your reaction as always. HOWEVER the sequel isn't that great, but it still expands the lore of the universe so it's worth exactly 1 watch. And I agree Emily blunt sold me on this entire world. She's a soldier indeed. Finally someone who agrees with us about #2. It was good, but not that good. It honestly felt like it should have been part of the first movie--one big, long, 4+ hr movie. Then maybe I would have like it more.

J....this would have been a whole different reaction if you had those subtitles on....you missed a lot of plot and story my friend. And if you pause and read the Dad's notes on his board....it explains the whole story with the aliens and also, how they are impervious to bullets and physical attack...the daughter's hearing aide with the sound is discovered to be their weakness(this is why it freaked out and exposed it's open mouth, only then would the bullets be effective). The Dad had no choice but to sacrifice himself in order for the kids to getaway. I'd def go back and watch this, again with the subtitles before you get into the sequel.... either way...these creatures were absolutely- Nightmare fuel, lol!

I remember hearing about the movie when it was in the theaters, but it DIDN'T show up in any "premium cable TV channels"! I found it on FX, and it was worth slogging through commercials to see this "quiet family" survival movie. As a result, I comb the "second level cable TV " channel listings with greater intensity than HBO or Showtime. (Do I really want to see "Pearl Harbor" or a "Twlight" movie for nth time?) For a (relatively) small movie, this one outclasses noisy, DFX-saturated, Hollyweird blockbuster garbage.

It was shown on the news clippings in their basement that conventional weapons, and even nukes don’t work on their outer shells, so that’s why she didn’t shoot it until it’s head went all floppy due to the frequency of the hearing aid
