- While at New York Comic Con, we reached out to Paladins of Cosplay to see if they had anything they'd like to show us. Did they ever! Adam chats with Law Asuncion, Josh Marchese and Owen Coulter about their impressive Pacific Rim, Batman: Dark Nights and Fallout costumes, and what brought these cosplayers come together as a group a few years ago.

Thanks again and it was an honor.
These guys are amazing! They repaired my Mandalorian Rifle guitar after the butt stock came off when someone bumped into me. And this was right after Adam had autographed it!
Must show the world!
That rifle is amazing!!!
Thank you! If we are in charge of the repairs again next year, I'm bringing a more extensive repair kit. We were limited by what they provided and were only able to bring in a small amount of gear at the time. I hope your rifle guitar has been properly attended to since then.
Hey all. Thank you for all the cosplay love and appreciation. A special thank you to our newest member, Adam Savage!
Thanks to the crew of Tested for their hard work on our feature in this episode.

Thanks for your time!
I’d honestly watch an entire channel of Adam interviewing cosplayers from different levels. His enthusiasm is so wholesome and it’s so fascinating to see how the costumes are put together.
Wonder if Adam would be willing to do that at the next one he goes to, set aside one day and just have as many 5-10 minute interviews in a day, and make a multipart series on it. (or just one LONG one :) )
@@scottstewart3884
I was just thinking of a food show (I forget the name) where the host tasted other people's creations, and tried to make them better. Not in a gross way, but just as a challenge.
I'd love to see Adam do something like that.
Or just work the repair booth for a while. :)
Totally agree! You can tell how much the Paladin's get from this too!
@@scottstewart3884 That's actually how these interviews are conducted. They are released individually on the channel though.
@@outLAW2LK this one, (& the Ghostbusters gent) are the only ones I've seen.
I was just thinking of how many great costumes can be at something like nycc and how great it would be for them & us (the viewers) to have, say 30, of them randomly picked & interviewed. Especially if he chose from all skill levels.
Great boost to their confidence in their skills, & the Cosplay community overall.
Thank you so much for having us, it was such an honor!! Also, did you see my little happy dance when Adam put my merciless helmet on? Lol
Very sorry I didn't see any of these guys while I was there. ;p
Batman the Merciless!!
These guys are the real deal. They work their butts off with repairs at the con... they even helped me out when a prop broke on me.
Thank you so much for that. The pleasure of helping people out is all ours. I hope our paths cross again at another con.
"can I join- YES OF COURSE!!"
really sums up how well this interaction went, everyone just loves sharing and hearing the stories, especially Adam!
The Merciless costume is incredible. Such a great build. I also love the chin switch on the mech. What a great idea.
Such incredible costumes! I really dig all of the top notch foam work. Great job!
Woah, that's so rad! Caring for each other is the backbone of any community!
Thank you. Many of our costumes are too big or bulky to do hospital charities, so we've put our focus on giving back to the cosplay community in helping them with repairs, teaching, and advice.
It never gets old to see a community so against gate keepers. These guys are great! I need to find friend like them where I live. Thanks for the inspiration.
Thank you. Yes I agree, gate keepers are awful. We try to keep cosplay as inclusive as possible and have built some great stuff for all walks of life.
Adam is just as excited about the costumes as all the amateur makers are. It's so genuine and fun to see him talking to other makers, just right in there with them!
He truly is and is the same way on and off camera.
Some years back at the second San jose comic con, I met Adam in a cosplay that no one recognized and he was encouraging and supportive... it really made the whole con experience amazing
I think not just Adam, but if any other cosplayers or people can at least appreciate the work and effort you put into something, it helps change your experience at any con. Great to hear you had an amazing time. And yes, having THE Adam Savage recognize your work is truly amazing.
I love that an integral part of the costume on the right is a giant working fan to keep him cool. That's so smart.
The NCR Ranger having a COVID mask with "LAPD Riot" on it is great, too. The NCR is based in California and the version of the armor he is wearing is actually referred to as the "Riot Gear" in game.
It's amazing how much cold air the fans pull in to cool my torso. Thanks for the appreciation!
@@Drakith90 yes, Owen is one of our most detail oriented builders on the team. His work is screen ready!
I saw Josh in the Merciless cosplay down at the repair center and walking the floor. It really is an incredible build!
Did anyone else have to do a double take when they seen a young John Lennon standing there 😮 but seriously the amount of work gone into these costumes is crazy
I can't unsee it now. LOL
These guys are some hard core artists and builders. This stuff is awesome and reflects some genuine creativity and skill. Bravo!
Much appreciated!
The fun part about Fallout themed stuff, is that its supposed to look damaged and worn out, so you don't need to be too careful on it or hide the repairs as much
Adam joins, then the cosplay skills of the group level up to Master Level.😎
And bump the rest of us in the group to Apprentice. LOL
Adam is a nerds , nerd ! 100% enthusiastic & can tell he loves it
Absolutely!
This was my favorite tested video to date. So much passion in less than 8 min
Wow, thank you for your kind words and appreciation!
Great interview I enjoyed that.
There’s not many people I’d like to meet in real life but Adam is definitely on the list
Agreed 100%. Not only just meeting him at a con on the floor or autograph booth, but to be able to talk to him about the craft and interview is truly wonderful.
When I saw that blue mech I yelled in my head: Gipsy Avenger! Because I do watch the Pacific Rim Movies. Man simply these costume armors are iconic. Fallout, DC and Pacific Rim? My man
Thank you! I apologize if I didn't get to stop and take pictures. We were on our way to this interview at the time you may have seen us walking the floor.
@@gabrielsatter Nah, I've seen that movie. It's just some dude getting a haircut while on vacation in the Philippines. ;P
How thrilled those guys must be for Adam to be geeking out over their creations. :)
Beyond exhilarated!
Very cool my friend….. Law that is…. 🤘🏼😎🤘🏼
With all these Tested cosplay vids and Shad's recent vids I am starting to think Hollywood has some serious competition.
This is a wonderful series. I love that you're showcasing these talented makers and letting them share what they've done like this.
Wow that's a fantastic Gipsy Danger cosplay! Too bad they never made a sequel to such an amazing movie....
I agree! The Anime was okay, but would love to see it on the big screen again one day.
Honestly, I just hope to someday have half as much fun as Adam gets to have daily.
I love this!
Those are some cool looking costumes,
great job guys !
Thank you so much!
i saw that jaeger costume irl it was so badass! he wasnt wearing it when i saw it n it looked so legit i wasnt even sure if it was a wearable costume or just like a statue
If I wasn't working the repair station for most of the con, I would have loved to have taken more photos with fans. Thanks for your appreciation!
Yep I can easily imagine Adam joining that group! HE"S apprenticed armor smith.
I’ve always thought doing cosplay would be fun, but these videos really make me want to do it! 👍
There are all sorts of cosplay types that you could do. You can either lean into the whole roleplay of cosplay and just become your favorite character or you can enjoy the hobby of building things and watching them come to life, just to name a few options. IMO, go for it!
@@outLAW2LK I like building stuff, and it would be great to go as a character.
If you attach a brief segment, like a title card of something, at the end of your videos for the video links to appear in then you wont have them obscuring things like Adam wearing a cosplay helmet and speaking to the camera.
Nice Dark Knights Metal Wonder Woman/Batman cosplay.
Cool.
AMAZING!!!
These guys are amazing!
Thanks Raf
Merciless batman so dope
I like how Adam ended up being like Mike Wazowski at the end there with the merch over his face.
Patrolling New York Comic Con almost makes you wish for nuclear winter.
Tons of build every day that is huge!
If I could bottle and sell Adam's enthusiasm, I would be a rich man.
"If this was my house this is exactly how it would go" :D
I love people who can put something like this together in any amount of time. I'm also hoping nothing happened to the Gypsy Danger guy at 3:47, because his right hand was smoking. 😬
I didn't even catch that when I looked at the clip the first time! Yeah, think he will need to go to the repair booth to isolate some cables. ;)
He has a smoke machine in it
@@allizcosplay Ah, nice. Cool! ;)
May I politely request 10 minute builds, 1 hour builds, and 1 day builds. 3 of the same thing would be very interesting.
Está se tornando real 👍
We are Going the Comics con
Right around ~ 0:30 - Did Norm inadvertently get caught coming out of the loo? (Yeah, I notice things like this, because I've wandered into a few shots for a friend like this)
No, that was the elevator hall actually.
Patrolling the Mojave makes you wish for a nuclear winter.
Owen is my friend 👋
Never wear another man's Helmet
Altruism at it's finest! Such a fantastic evolution of a community.
Thats not a word
@@lunisic
al·tru·ism
/ˈaltro͞oˌizəm/
noun
the belief in or practice of disinterested and selfless concern for the well-being of others.
"some may choose to work with vulnerable elderly people out of altruism"
@@lunisic Couldn't agree more! "Thats" is certainly not a word. No argument here.
Is that a wonder woman armor?
Batman: The Merciless from the Dark Nights Metal series.
Gotta say super disappointing having Adams entire body covered by links in the final shot
The guys should have pulled Adam's leg by saying sorry no, we are really selective with regards members 😄 . His reaction would have been funny
Anyone else notice the middle guy wearing his mask incorrectly? lol
When I talk my mask fell under my nose and I can't really pull it back up since well.....I'm wearing armor lol
@@cjpropstudio2561 Don't forget, the mask debate at some point, mentioned that it's more of a way to protect the people around you from your saliva rather than it protecting you anyway. So the mask covering at least your mouth protected your spit from being airborne, so there's at least that consolation.
Where are the thighs?
To which are you referring to?
Wonder Womon?
Batman: The Merciless from the Dark Nights Metal series. Bruce Wayne of Earth-12 takes on Ares' powers and defeats Wonder Woman.
@@outLAW2LK thanks, that explains the logo
NERDS
Why have a mask if you're not going to wear it properly? :'D
why do they have masks on?
They were required at New York Comic Con, as we say in the caption.
can wear all that costume, but still cant wear a mask right. when on camera too.
Mask propaganda galore
That's called a rational safety precaution during a global pandemic by people who aren't ignorant conspiracy nuts.
Lame...
Great costumes, but still wearing masks? Pathetic.
New York Comic Con required masks.
wow cosplayers need to get lives that arnt playing dressup. like seriously our world is falling apart and peopl elike this just stare in the mirror or at their phones all day. genuinely disgusting that someone would do this for their whole lives consistently
Ok Karen
We actually do have our own lives and work, this is a hobby for us not a profession. Instead of being on your phone and put the effort to make a negative comment. Just keep it to yourself and cry from jealousy in your mom's basement
Wow #payattentiontome get a life your self lmao what kind of person has a world so small you think thats all cosplayers are. I feel sorry for you lmao
Guess what movie costumes and set pieces like the ones in the MCU and other popular movies all hire people who work in cosplay and they got in to the industry thanx to cosplay even in Mulan the costume designer was and still is a cosplayer. A lil something you should know before typing such selfish uneducated nonsense.
Says the guy that took the time to watch the video and found the need to write a comment. Move on with your miserable life and stop being a cancer to this world. Keep your negative thoughts in your own miserable head.
