    Viewing as an end user, lead singer for a classic rock band in NY, known as White Room. EV truly makes some awesome PA speakers. The sound you get from EV is magikal. I wonder if they are owned by Bosch, as the manuals say Bosch on them. I currently own 3 - EV 12s" one with blue tooth and 2 without, and also a Mackie 15" Thump thru a Yamaha MG12XU Mixing board. One day I may purchase a subwoofer. No need right now. Unless we move into a larger audience and or club.

    BT range is worse than bad !!!
    I just bought one of these for a summer party but a big deal worth mentioning with these speakers is the bad BT range. All my devices back home have way better communication range. It can just cut out when you are 2-3 meters away, with no other devices around(in the back yard). I have mailed the EV support so we'll see what they say about it. But it doesn't seem to be any way to improve signal or change the firmware on the speaker.
    To follow up the BT range or rather the occasional cut outs in signal on these have led me to return this speaker. I don't feel that it completely ready developed BT wise and will maybe have a look back when a mkII version is available. The sound is quite good and for the about 450$/400€. I have only connected them via BT and it will work well as a party speaker but with the hassles mentioned above.

      @sibbese3740 Před 3 lety

      @@jorjesosa7319 I was looking for a party speaker but the levels the EV's and similar speakers can produce isn't too neighbor friendly so to speak. So I now ended up with a much less powerful speaker and last summer they got those on sale for around 200€, I got the JBL partybox 100 instead. But if you compare the BT performance on the JBL's its like night and day actually. The JBL i can go maybe 50 m if there is nothing in the way. And the EV BT performance you are aware. But if I would buy a PA kind speaker that have good BT I guess the equivalent JBL's is a good option.

    I just set up a pair of the 15" models to our CrossFit Gym. Am wondering if there's a simple/fast way to do Bluetooth pairing so when our coaches swap in and out, they can take over the bluetooth quickly rather than having to go through the knob on the back every single time. We would really like to mount these on the wall above head height which would make it painful to constantly have to go set the dial two 'paring' every time. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

      From the top its has to vent ares. I glue the fans to a magnet and got them pointed over the holes and the air flows threw if from the bottom. Fans cost bout 5$ a piece.

    Great speaker. But I have to be honest. The Bluetooth is horrible.

    Sorry, but you could mostly hear only the bass driver on that sound demo...

  • @seattlesoundproductions3492

    Again, WATTS do not equal sound. SPL equals sound.

    Ive owned about 10 of the older versions that these replaced.
    Honestly I think its a rip off...
    They added a $30.00 bluetooth unit and raised the price like $200. each.3Its pointless, most mixing consoles will already have bluetooth and even if they dont you can buy a $30.oo bluetooth receiver puck from Hosa and get the same result or just use a cable coming off your player or phone to go into your mixer to get your audio to play through the speakers.
    They should have added something more than bluetooth because it just doesnt justify that much of a price increase over the previous version.
    In fact I would rather save the money and buy the previous version, and they knew most people would so they discontinued that speaker. The would never sell any of these new ones if the older cheaper ones were still offered.
    Kind of the same bs like when a medicine goes off patent and the pharma company changes one molecule in the pill and re-patents it to gouge their customers for essentially the same item......same old story, same old BS

      I hate the company’s misleading with peak watts it would be more professional to say rms 500 vs 1000 watts

    I love how you don't talk about the watts on the speaker like you do all the other brands..... You give EV so much high regard and never talk about the true watts like you do a Gemini speaker or Alto I guess you want people to spend all their money on high end speakers. I guess your only the Wattage Police when it comes to other brands
