There's a reason people call his voice the "throat cancer" voice 😅
Pattinson exudes more of a Batman ora than Bale IMHO.

So important that right after all this they called Affleck for the role 😂
@@pjma1059the trilogy was over so why won't they?
It’s really interesting to see them mention that many big actors didn’t want to get involved with superhero movies back then. They’re so common and popular now thanks to stuff like the MCU and this Batman trilogy itself that it seems like nearly every big actor has played in at least one.
It's also not entirely true. I thought the same and thought yea that was true not many good actors did want to get involved but then I remembered the X-Men films which had patrick stewart, Ian McKellen, Halle Berry and Hugh Jackman (Hugh wasnt really so big back in 2000s so id barely count him) from the get go who are all really big names and that film came out in 2000 and batman begins didnt come out til 2005 its a bit of a yea i guess but also no not really.

I love how tentative actors were about being in a super hero movie back in 2005. Now, in the marvel era, every big actor is a superhero
That’s why Bale was lucky, he was a part of a fantastic trilogy that will be compared to for a long time!
I believe they’re tentativeness was due to a lack of insecurity on how to approach established characters while making it their own. MCU/DC acting is by far the hardest to pull off.
Apart from X Men and Spider-Man, the superhero genre (especially DC) was in a complete mess due to the 90s Batman films. After the extremely campy and over the top movies with their Bat Credit Cards, nipples and neon colored visuals most actors in 2003 would’ve been like ‘nah, I’ll pass’.
@@3boodae749 That's exactly what they said. Look up a recent interview with Michael Keaton and he explicitly says that he WISHED he had an opportunity to play the kind of Batman role that Christopher Nolan devised for Christian Bale. His reticence to continue the role of Batman after Tim Burton's second film was precisely because it turned campy and silly in order for the studio to stake deals with toy companies to sell merchandise, but it all backfired because the movies were so terrible they practically killed the superhero genre for an entire generation.
Marvel era is over thankfully
Similar vibes for Tom Hiddleston being originally auditioned for role of Thor then later chosen for Loki which he nailed it!
Also Sebastian Stan for Captain America then later chosen for Winter Soldier which he nailed it!

Begins was always my favourite of the trilogy, I thought the way they explained how he became batman, made it seem so believable and hearing Nolan liken batman to the alien was a stroke of genius, and comes across strongly in the movie, particularly when batman is interrogating Crane after hes given him the fear toxin and we get to see his fear of what the batman is, personified as a demonic entity, its brilliant.

thats interesting because i didnt really notice anything in particular when that clip played but lots of people are commenting on how good it was. on second thoughts i definitely like it more than bale's voice which i think sounds dumb and ruined a lot of the movie for me. dunno why they didnt go all out and use a digital effect on his voice and pretend there is some sort of high tech voice changer implanted in his throat that he can turn on whenever he is batman

Murphy could be an excellent Bond villain, but it needs to be without Craig as Bond.
@@LedosKell True, Murphy would be viewed (by many) as not nearly as 'physical' as Craig...and that being the case, he would be best-cast as yet-another 'untouchable' type of arch-nemesis...which is easily done, considering how many (in the entire Bond-franchise) never managed to throw a single punch, before being neutralized. It's been done, it can be done again & again, ad-nausem...because they (the 'Powers that Be') KNOW that they already have a fan-base of people who WILL pay to go see the newest Bond-film, regardless of whatever the film-critics will say about it...myself included.

No, not really. No movie gave him 2 voices before the 2005 film.
@@gomaniz even if that was the case, which it isn't, I think it is obvious that Batman needed a different voice so people wouldn't know that Bruce Wayne is Batman
Actually, anyone who read the comics and watched TAS would know the way Batman’s speech is written, is very different to Bruce Wayne’s. Bale probably did his homework, since he’s a method actor, and got it right where the rest got it wrong
He doesn't thou if anything they got it backwards, batman is his real persona and Bruce is the act so he should have a pretend playboy voice for bruce in public.
I think the difference here is that most of the actors never truly 'changed' their voice, they just lowered it a bit and used a different tone. Keaton still sounded like Keaton, Kilmer still sounded like Kilmer, and Clooney wasn't even trying. Even Kevin Conroy's voice is too unique to have a dramatic distinction between Bruce/Batman. It was just accepted as a 'Cark Kent with glasses' situation and suspend a little disbelief. What Christian did was completely change his voice to where it is unrecognizable from his own, and much more aggressive. Most actors can't do this simply from not having the vocal flexibility.

4:45 the costume here it just flawless !
looks really badass
Bale was perfect for Batman I still love him and want him to be batman again.
Maybe a parallel earth movie in future…
Agree. Just watched The Batman and I just couldn't adjust to Pattinson.
Ummm yeah no thanks
It's funny that Lois Lane was originally helping with the screen tests for Batman.
That’s because she was cheating behind Superman’s back and having an affair with Batman.
Christian Bale and Amy Adams are probably very good friends in real life. They were in The Fighter, American Hustle and Vice. 🙂
Cilian went from harmless to badass after putting on that mask and that voice modulation
Christian Bale nailed the role with his whispery voice.
That is how you do a screen test, you really build an actual place & screen for the actors to be evolved as the character.
*”Swear to Me!”*
He won it at that moment
Cillian Murphy is a god tier actor
This clip feels fresh in 2022. 17 years sure is long. But Nolan's Batman feels like it was just last 2-3 years ago.
I know its 10 some years old, but as a simple fan of movies, comics, and Batman. Christopher Nolan did an absolutely phenomenal job of reimagining and bringing him to life. My hat is off to him, and Christian Bale as well.
Cillian Murphy's Batman voice was spot on.
However I feel like it was the right thing by not doing the role of Batman and went on to be the SCARECROW.
He took the character to a next level. 👌
They did the screen test in the kilmer suit! That's sick!
So nice to have the thoughts of Bono on Batman
Cillian was too pretty to be the batman
how can he be pretty?
@@gaboaaa23 his lips were too pretty and so were his cheekbones, he looked too feminine at the time but now that he’s aged, I think he would pull off a great Batman
@@kodakwhite1696 if he is pretty! What is Brad Pit or Paul Walker? He is so far from pretty like the mars frm the earth.
@@gaboaaa23 well he’s got such a unique face so it’s understandable some people may not find him attractive.
Facts.
Eion Bailey - "Hey when you get a chance, swear to me."
5:12 Cillian's voice was really something!
Such an underrated masterpiece. Deserves more fucking credit. Especially the actors in it
Didn't know Amy Adam's was involved with the Screen Test.
I think cillian murphy in peaky blinders will make a good bruce wayne
It's actually nice seeing the Batman forever suit being used as a place holder
That sounds like Tomas Arana as Gordon in those screen tests (Quintus in Gladiator/ Wayne's Lawyer in TDKR).
Every single one of the music pieces played in this video make me feel a completely different emotion. I never hear music from a Batman movie and don’t feel something.
1:31 - undeniable romance and a feeling of longing.
3:38 - relief and temporary peace.
4:59 - focus and controlled rage energy.
You would have loved to have lived in the 1940s I think
Romance???
