Revived my love for the Defender. Cubic, capable, centered. This is the planned modern version of the defender legend. Old school that conquered continents turned into an engineering marvel. Momemtum. Folks will realize who the Grenadier really is. Highly skilled professionals at the top of their game getting together. Love the dog, tiny house, sophisticated look stealthy spirited elegance of the engineer that convey the soul of the Grenadier. I'm in! Now I want this utilitarian 2 seater for dog/gear space to take me off-roading and overlanding 🎉❤
Can’t wait for mine!!
Will be the Best SUV of All the time, I wish I could have one
It's not an SUV; it's built on a ladder frame.
Please make 8 seater for my international travel with my family thank you ineos granadior team all the best😂❤
Great video! I do wish this had normal driver centered analog gauges.
İmpressive and excellent result ❤👍👏👏👏
Engineering journalist? Used to be a vet I thought.
Loved those car building shows he did years ago.
Pete mate!
Brilliant Story ... this and that of Erik Buell Racing (EBR)
The video is as good as the vehicle.
What a cool vehicle and I love no robots
Would like to see GRENADIER tested in BORNEO rain forest or BORNEO SAFARI or may be BORNEO CAMEL TROPHY RAIN FOREST TRAIL.
It's an old style Land rover !!!
Part time 4WD has more pros than full time 4wd. Fuel economy, turning radius and many more
The Grenadier Build modeller shows an increase in emissions of around 20g/km with addition of lockers, in a vehicle that it already (sadly) surprisingly high
The fuel consumption (and range) and high emissions are the major downside of what looks like an amazing vehicle (if you ignore capital outlay, delays in availability, and service agents in my country)
@@hedydd2 Definitely operating costs and high emissions are important, especially in a vehicle where durability was a key design focus. We already pay an import duty on high emission vehicles, and are waiting for fuel prices to increase 25c/l next month to cover Kyoto commitments (with an expectation of further increases over the next few years). Total cost of ownership is important, but a couple of design decisions have made this both expensive to buy and expensive to operate
(If I just needed a light duty road vehicle, I can buy something at half the cost of the Grenadier)
Needs a longer range fuel tank for Australia. Also disappointed the front and rear lockers are optional extras.
really good to see European manufacturers building usa standard body on frame and no leaf springs...........
Buenas tardes amigo me gusta mucho este todo terreno para cuando estará a la venta en España 🇪🇸🍀 un saludo
Wow
Eight Seater option would be Perfect. And improved water antiflooding battery and fuses compartment protection.
Will it still drive if all electronics fail?
Will there be a flexifuel variant?
Maybe all of them should be so foolproof.
In case of flat tire on front wheel need 8 wheels on each off roaders.
The under body is totally an exac if not similar design as TOYOTA LAND CRUISER 80 series, diesel straight 6 and 4 lit motor. Wonder WHY TOYOTA LANDCRUISER current model switch to independent suspension. Very Strange . I still drive LC 80 since 1997. If I can effort this new GRANADIER I would like to have one and keep it for the next 25 years buat will switch the motor and trans to TOYOTA LC diesel 4 lit, straight 6 more reliable and less maintenance.
I`m sure Landrover has no regret turning every single production into a pussywagon and throwing out the only real ruggid production vehicle.
Was thinking about trading the Jeep but just found out these are going to cost as much as landrover. I could afford a $70,000 with a trade in but not $100,000.
That sounds like a big increase from the target price? Is that due to inflation or mission creep? Defenders are going for stupid money in the UK, I like em, but they're hard to live with. JLR seem to have lost the plot, perhaps they've given up on this market segment because Japanese, Koreans et al already rule the roost? I think the Grenadier will be a good vehicle (I hope), but I'm worried that the hype and cost may end up in DMC territory?
DONDE SE FABRICA EL GRANADIER ?
France
Looks like a Landy Defender, except four decades too late.
No, just at the right time.
@@jimmycricket5366 There's already a brand new Defender. Who want's an old, recycled one?
@@sandgrownun66 somebody who values longevity and reliability.
Are you saying the new Defender is no good? Do you realize that old Defenders are second only to Rolls Royce's in their survival rate?
There are lots of odd looking awd`s on the market for odd people.
Perhaps we can restore the Camel Trophy race!
Hmm stringing together the marketing videos from Ineos isn't really a documentary.
10:12 RIP, ended up being *_France_*
Needs to be 33" & 35"
What about an electric one?
My husband is mechanical engineer please 🙏🙏
Too much luxury equipment. Too much electronics. Needs to be offered cheaper with less accessories.
Name one 4x4 with less electronics. The only one on the planet with less electronics is the 70 series land cruiser, which majority of the planet doesn’t get. So name one other 4x4 you’re comparing this to that has less electronics
French 😳 shame they basically copied the defender shape, be nice to create a new “something”
Constructive criticism: lose the background noise!
The subject & your narration of it is great. The addition of distracting, annoying music ruined the vid for me. The music detracts from the informational value.
Sorry I gave up when the music finally ground its way into my head, dumb ass way to discuss new technology.
Great vehicle but I don't like Jim Ratcliffe at all. Land Rover were stupid to have stopped production of the Defender. Now someone else has taken the lead , because this is what it is - a new Defender. I would call the Grenadier radical. But did that Scottish farmer talk about 'working the land'? Not if the WEF have their way he won't be.
By and large I agree (don't forget the CCP too!), unless the sheeple do owt about it. Not sure why you don't rate Ratcliffe, unless I'm missing something he seems like poor boy made good? JLR have lost the plot re new Defender etc and their build quality is dire (I love the look of their products but couldn't face owning one of the expensive ones even if I could afford it. We had S1, S2 and S3 back in the day and as a kid I rode in very early Range Rovers in 1970/71). Perhaps JLR gave up on the segment because the Japanese, Korean's et al started to make head way? I don't know why the felt tip fairies get their way so much these days. I've friends who are time served, design engineers, now CAD Jockies and they're telling me that new recruits are woke, brainwashed and don't know one end of a car, truck, bus, ship or aeroplane from another. This country has been eroded from outwith and within and is moribund, we need a sea change and fast!
@@musoseven8218 Jim Ratcliffe was pushing for Fracking, a dangerous eco-disaster waiting to happen. Thankfully the geology in the UK is not suitable, but he showed his true colours when he was steam rollering over local communities who didn't want it. I could go on. I had an early Range rover too. A 1981 two door 3.5 V8 which was OK fuel-wise on long journies but short ones were expensive. Great vehicle though and came with a starting handle too, which could take your arm off if you didn't know how to use one. I wasn't aware that new Defender build quality was poor. Most kids these days are 'woke' God help us. The only way we can get out of this mess (which was planned generations ago) is not to comply with any of their lies, propaganda and bs. Again, I could go on, but certainly not on CZcams.
@@scaryfakevirus By and large I agree with all that you say. I'm not a fan of fracking etc, although, I need to study the pros and cons more. All modern JLR kit is risky Eg Evoque has a recall steering rack bolt issue (about £3.5k per car) and JLR won't acknowledge it as such (it's safety critical). And yes the erosion of the UK started at least at the end of WWII, and probably before in WWI, and things geared up in 2008 when we were conned back then too. There's also, for want of a better phrase, spiritual/pandimensional element to it all too. Many ancient prophecies seem to be coming true - even if that's only because the psychos in charge want it that way. So much more I could write too, but I'm wary and weary, I think that the hermetic life beckons or a trip to the grey havens 🤔😉💜✌️
PS I remember the RR's having starting handle holes in the bumper. My dad's friend had an early one, circa 1970/71 and our neighbour had the GTX cars, so I rode in those occasionally too. Happier times. No one remembers (and it was destroyed) at one point in the 1970s there was financial parity and everyone was doing okay relative to their situation, tptb couldn't tolerate justice, democracy and relative bliss though could they!
@@musoseven8218 No pros - all cons I'm afraid with fracking. Jim Ratcliffe wanted the cheap gas to power his plastics industry, not for us at all. He was just going to build community halls for the local plebs in return for the pollution of ground water and destruction of arable land, reduction of house prices and the heavy trucks churning up the country lanes etc . Also, for the cons just have a look at the gas wells in Australia (my cousin used to live nearby) and Pennsylvania in the US. It is horrendous to say the least! Gas bubbling up in rivers and streams and even through the ground. The current situation and what they want was written in the Bible too. Ability to buy or sell so long as you take the mark? An interesting reply. Thanks.
A very disappointing end result for a vehicle that was to replace the defender.
Because of all the irrelevant stuff that has been put onto it, all my money has already been spent for me on stuff that I don't need or want or it's not where I want it.
Plastic bin liner rubbish roof rack and bars rubbish, fancy seats rubbish, sun roof rubbish.
I need a base model that I can Taylor to my requirements for my purpose.
Totally a townies car that says LOOK AT ME.
No good for real working off road overland setup.
It's an alternative to a top end GWagon.
How dies it run and perform fully loaded? I haven't seen any tests or promotion being run under load.
Overlanding is done with the vehicle heavily loaded.
Jeep and land cruiser are still hard to beat.
Very disappointing.
Independent suspension is mall crawler garbage
1 hours worth of repeatedly saying the same basic thing over and ovet.
This can carry tourist in Africa but not the new Defender ¹10
I said that too early! Automatic transmission not durable in the savannahs of Africa
