- Hi everyone..
As I mentioned in the video, I have been working extra hours to create a nice bonus as a welcome treat for the member zone. There will be 11 tutorial videos published by tomorrow.. around 12:00 pm tomorrow.
Please keep in mind that I WILL NOT be able to provide these many videos in a short period of time like this.. this is just a bonus.
From next week I will try to keep a steady program to upload 2-3 tutorial videos weekly... so you will have time in between to learn and practice, other wise I will be overwhelming you.
Anyway lets stay in touch through here, "Comment area".. with your help and suggestion we will get this channel to be the best and most complete Taxidermy channel for everyone who loves to learn this magnificent Art.
Appreciate everyone and thank you for joining.
Ben.

I absolutely love taxidermy.💀☠️🪶I've learned so much from your channel, it's amazing. Like how you so delicately remove the skin and prep it for the form it goes on. Thank you so much for making these videos. Keep up the good work, you are very talented.
One day I would love to learn the art of taxidermy. It's beautiful and it brings the dead back to life in a way. Until I'm able to do that, I'll continue watching your channel and learning all that I can.
Thank you very much for your comments. I’m glad you are finding the channel useful.
Another Fine work of art ! Great video too
Cheers
Very nice thank you again!...
Excellent sir 👌 👌👌
Keep up the excellent work and videos. One can learn so much from your work.
Thanks.
Looks awesome
You are so great at this!!! Its wonderfull how you returning animals their beauty.
Im sorry to anoying by comenting on year old wid, yet i would found wery helpfull if you could post measured distance between eyes on your cast.
Many thanks, best luck👍❤️
Glad to hear you enjoy the videos. You can always ask a question on old videos. I always respond. Ill try to keep in mind to write the eyes distance on the cast.
What do you use to preserve the skin on your birds? I know some people salt and borax birds. I have a duck in the freezer I'm waiting to mount when it gets cooler
HOW TO PRESERVE bird skins. Moth attack explained. Art of Taxidermy.
Hello, your work is amazing, congratulations.
What kind of glue do you use to glue the skin to the head cast?
Thanks a lot.
Thank you Pedro. I usually use Gorilla super glue.
Ben thanks for the video. The head and beak look so life like! Do the suppliers even make a raven head and form? If not you are truly the artist of taxidermy brotha! Thanks again for the videos!
They probably don’t because it’s not a common item for sale. Thanks Pete for your comments anyway.
Yes sir!
Why didn't you make a tongue or maybe I didn't see it? Anyway it's a stunning mount. I have been trying to harvest one for a very long time, to mount myself. I attended a Taxidermy School in 1984 , but didn't do it as a career. Most of what I mounted were from my time afield, primarily waterfowl . It's been many years since I mounted anything, but I was surfing the net and discovered your site. Did you receive any training to get started or taught yourself ? Either way I admire your techniques and your finished accomplishments. Hopefully you will spark my interest to get back into Taxidermy.
Thanks Tim… there is a tongue and the whole inside the mouth details. If you watch my video on how to make a cast of this raven skull you will see more details. The video is on my channel. It’s great that you are doing it as a hobby if you stick around you will pick up a lot of tips and tricks. I was self taught but after a year of practicing at home I was hired at a natural history museum and it took off from there due to have access to many specimens.
Cheers.
What do you use for the skulls of your birds? I would have liked to see how you did the sow owl skull but I don't believe their was a part 4. I'm very curious because if theirs a way to avoid taking out the eyes I would be all for that! That's the hardest part for me. Thanks in advance!
I’m using resin as you see in the videos. For the Saw whet owl I did the same process as you saw I did on the Raven. And you have to remove the eyes and replace them with artificial ones.
Could you make a video how to make the body?🥰
It’s coming.
@@ArtofTaxidermy cool😊
How to improve shine of feathers if they are looking dull?
If they are dull because they are old , you can’t do anything .. the bird should have moulted to have new feathers but if it’s dull because it’s dirty then a good bath and wash can make it clean and shiny
Thanks sir
What is that blue balloon that represents the chest and abdomen? Is it made of cork?
It is the artificial body made out of foam.
How do you skin the face of a raven when they have so many “mustache” feathers on their nostrils?
Same way as other birds.. push the moustache aside, and skin. You always have to push away what’s blocking your access.
@@ArtofTaxidermy Thanks
Hi are you squirting Caulk under the skin to fill any gaps?
Yes and gluing the skin to the body.
And what is the reason sir ,After mounting the bird looks slight dull
What is the reason behind that?
In general ? Or you are talking about a specific bird mount ?
@@ArtofTaxidermy in general
@@ArtofTaxidermy because i have mounted alexander parrot but when the body came it was looking bright and after mounting it was looking slightly dull
In That case it might be a normal thing. The natural shine on the feathers are a bit enhanced by the preening oil on them when the bird is alive and healthy. After dead and all the feathers being washed it can be expected that some of that shine be reduced or washed off. But not a lot.
@@ArtofTaxidermy ok, thanks sir
Beautiful work! Where are you located that you can work on a Corvid? I'm in New York and it's 100% illegal to keep any part of a Corvid
I’m in Canada and no corvids is protected here. They are looked at as pests.
@@ArtofTaxidermy I see! I'd love to work with more birds but so many birds here are protected, it's an impossible legal process.
We all suffer in one way or another from nonesense regulations.
