    Witch
    Written by Karliene Reynolds (2017)
    - | LYRICS |-
We dance to the beat of the flames
And we know all of your names
We corrupt you with our beauty
We castrate you when we’re old and ugly
    Ooh
    We dance with the Devil
    Ooh
    We’ll make you tremble
    Ooh
    You best be careful
And you say confess ( confess)
    To the evidence
    You’re a foul heathen
    A demon of malevolence
    Venomous bitch
    Old witch
You’re the reason for all our sins
And he cries confess ( confess)
    Vile succubus
    How you beguiled
    And defiled my innocence
    You’re a bitch
    You’re a witch
You’re the reason for all my sins
    Burn the witch
    Burn the witch
    Burn the witch
    Burn the witch
And you cry confess ( confess)
    Old sorceress
How you bring the rain and the plague
    And my impotence
    You’re a bitch
    You’re a witch
And we cannot suffer you to live
    Burn the witch…
    (Instrumental)
And you say confess ( confess)
    To the evidence
    You’re a foul heathen
    A demon of malevolence
    Venomous bitch
    Old witch
You’re the reason for all our sins ( x2)
    Burn the witch
    Burn the witch
    Burn the witch
    Burn the witch

Dearest Karliene, what in the world could have ever possessed you to create something so gorgeously dark and awesome (again)?! The spirits of the witches condemned and those who were innocent called out to you, I believe, in some way. It’s perfect especially for this coming holiday of Samhain (All Hallows Eve). Keep making beautiful things girl

@@Karliene My ancestor Susannah Martin was one of those accused during the Salem Witch Trials. She was executed on my birthday July 19th. From what I read about her we are much the same in many ways. She wasn't a witch in her faith and practice but I am. Although she wasn't burned at the stake many innocent women and men were. Thank you for letting them speak through you.
It's time Hollywood stop putting us witches in a bad light and start showing us for who we truly are. We are keepers of the great mysteries. We are healers, We are the children of the Great Mother Goddess, the hidden Holy Spirit.

@@igotcheesewannabemypeppero3762 This is incredibly late and I'm not the person you were asking, but a lot of witchcraft involves the sun and the moon. Witchcraft in and of itself is a secular practice but is often used in other religions such as Wicca, and others use it in forming their own path, so really there are many cultures that can be incorporated in witchcraft. But yes, the sun and the moon, especially the moon, are very much incorporated in witchcraft.

Okay I gotta say I was scared to listen to this at first but damn this is haunting and it riles me up like crazy.
For generations there have been witches in my family, in fact until 80 years ago, the old witches of my family would bless newborn babies and foretell their destinies with scary accuracy.
They said that their lineage would turn away from the "mirror of the fire among the trees" whatever that means.
Now, we've been distanced from the old ways (like they said) but something in me whispers for me to embrace my lineage, my nature...
It scares me but I'm irresistibly drawn to something I can't explain.

If you are using a dab of your own blood as an offering to the Gods is safe in my experience IF you are experienced, you know what Gods you are dealing with and a few other precautions. I would never advise a person to allow their blood to be accessible to others 99.99% of the time. That is when bad to deadly things can happen. I too was raised in the Old Ways and am continuing this with my daughter. I am from Germany originally and I empathize with your ancestors who were tortured and killed in Salem. There is a memorial in the town of my childhood in Germany to the victims of the Witchhunts. I have never been to Salem but I imagine there is something similar there as well. It is important to remember that most of them only confessed in order to end their torture and suffering beyond comprehension. The only evil was in the minds and hands of the inquisitors. They were the true evil. I am saying this not directly at you but instead to others reading this who imagine witches are what the church wanted people to think. Unfortunately, the Witchhunts continue today in many parts of the world but it is not something most people know about.

I have a weakness for witch legends and haunted forests...Oh I just love all that magic swarming into that smart mind of yours - thank you so much for letting us catch a glimpse of that rare feeling of infinity and... fullness, and for reminding us that Halloween is only a month away! xx

My great aunt was a witch the only one in my family because of how Christian my family was she would never go to church and would go into the woods at night or at dusk but would never come out during the day she even had old spell books that her mother gave to her and she would use her crystal ball and cards often and would mostly heal the family with herbs but unfortunately she died back in 1980 and i never got to meet her at all but i am practicing with herbs so i hope i make her spirit happy

Karliene your gifting this world with connecting to feeling, rhythm and story is important. You have a wonderful strong voice and range as well. Thank you. I see a parallel now in fear based attacking anyone. Societal trauma sparks fear and I think people don't realize that is what their reactions are or that it is simply our minds when in fight or flight. Fear based thinking is what has goaded them, nobody made them think or feel. No one needs to be killed to rid them of bad thoughts. We have some evolution work! Our instincts to know when born are not practiced and many of us lose them. We are amazing beings capable of intuition, deep feeling and thinking, great bravery and caring but our mind skips the frontal lobe and goes straight to fight or flight reaction. I hope we return to wisdom and healing.

Living in the South coming out of the broom closet has been hard. My sister laughed in my face when I was cleansing and blessing something I was going to collect water in. She encouraged her son to do it too. It hurt so much. I can't imagine what witches of old went through.
I'm not Wiccan but I feel our stories may have some mirrors. I study herbs and practice divination. I work with my ancestors and strive to learn protection magick. Nothing evil about me lol. They should try my cleansing bath blends. Might chill them out.

Meaning that all Protestants, Jews, Romani (Gypsies), Mystics, Witches, and even people believed to be werewolves. I'm also willing to bet that those within the church also knew full well that the majority of those people weren't actually guilty of anything, they were just were afraid of their power being undermined.
