What deck/card should I play/brew next? The comment with the most likes WINS . Check out some pauper BREWS here: czcams.com/play/PLliE_gftCEhOY1S-x_9mC0z8Mm1F1YGUD.html.
I would pretend that All That Glitters got banned and brew an affinity deck that runs Azorius, Jeskai, or Esper colors that does not use All That Glitters.
Hahaha fair đ
Hunger of Nim is going to shine hahahaha
Wow, didn't know the card existed đ. That is awesome!
bridges were ALWAYS the problem, but PFP loves boros ramp, so...
Or rather Jeskai Ephem hahaha (laugh in pain)
Galvanic relay:
Among the other storm cards this is a bit weaker of ending the game on the spot, however it started to become an oppressive card advantage engine and it still deserved to be banned. Not because it ârubbed the PFP the wrong wayâ.
I remember kali making 3 trophies and Twitter and the next day it got banned đ€Ł. So who knows

I always thought that way too, but you actually just needed 1 snow mana to cast it. The filter ability is available for any mana.
Yup đI think they ran snow Manabases
Really nice video! Thanks for all the info and nice editing :)
Thanks to you for watching!
I love the PFP indirects hahahaha honestly, I disagree with most of their decisions since their creation.
Things could have been done better. I agree. So, I decided to have fun with it đ
The question is, some disban its possible?
I guess some cards could be unbanned; I honestly don't think Prism and Boner's Ornament would be wrong, given the current state of a Pauper. However, if that means the rise of Tron, some decks will not be around anymore like Golgari Gardens. So, it's a matter of reevaluating if Tron deserves banning lands to get back some cards that fit in more decks. It's a matter of give and take, tbh.
9:21 Treasure cruise is legal in pioneer and sees a good bit of play
yup
You answered my question. Thank you. So the only format I can legally play a playset of my favorite card of all time is Legacy. Got it.
Sorry :(
@@davidroyale14 it's all good. I'm almost there. I'll save Tabernacle At Pendrell Vale and Chains Of Mephistopheles for last. Lol.
Tabernacle- 3500$
Chains-1099$
Great video!
Thank you!!
Disciple of the Vault:
Disciple has always been accruing advantage in the late game to the point where it was overwhelming.
If you get past affinityâs early game or side in artifact hate, you would still have to deal with this when it came out.
With all of the artifacts that can sac and replace themselves or other sacrifice effects and generally artifacts being good on both sides of the battlefield meta, this definitely did a lot of damage for a 1 mana creature and warped a bit of the meta around it where it was a must deal with threat, and often could end the game before removal could hit it, other than counters.
Obviously, bridges has never been a choice for them đ.
@@davidroyale14They considered it and bridges didnât need the ban.
I agree with their decision.
â@@paupertim5819they come in tapped and even with affinity taking advantage of them you would still need mana available to cast other spells
@@paupertim5819I donât
TL:DR
Artifacts are pretty good
Atog ban still hurts ;(
I still remember it to this day, and it's the official pet for the channel
â€
Personally thebridges need to go all of them since they love glitters
ban bridges, yayyyyy
How ATG is not banned yet blows my mind
They will soon, long live bridges â ïž
It is banned now đ
Atg?
Will never understand the idea Atog was unjustly banned. It was the problem. Still would be the problem and needs to be banned should have been banned 1 B&R before it was.
Would aggre if affinity stopped getting cards banned after its sacrifice. And well, affinity it is still a problem. Even if glitters gets banned soon, we are just another big payoff away to have another affinity problem at our hands đ«€.
@@davidroyale14yes the PFP keep putting things under the hud. I can imagine them banning glitters and few moments later Nettlecyst becoming pauper legal.
Atog:
Wasnât available in the format from the beginning of the format as it was originally only cards common on MTGO defined the legality. (I would know as a founder of the format)
It wasnât legal until they started doing reprints on MTGO in Master Sets.
This had been on the ban radar for a long time, before the PFP was founded.
As artifact strategies got better with more cards entering the format with synergies, it got to the point where even if you could hang and grind out advantage and stabilize, your opponent could still just hit a 1-2 win synergy, not by just having a combo, but it being a strong deck outside of it.
This ban was definitely warranted, and not just because you believe that they âhateâ the card.
It was around for a long time before the ban and caused issues. Current iterations of affinity are still great, but would be much stronger with Atog.
There sure is a debate about it. I just felt like adding humor to it đ€Ł. Still, I stand that bridges are the sin and Atog and others the scapegoat, which is my opinion. Overall, bans around affinity has not fixed a thing. Just look at which is the top deck right now đ...
The format exists even before the MTGO games you guys organized. And after that we had two different banlists, the MTGO and the IRL ones.
@@mimico4340
No, It originated, including the name with us.
Before that there was a format called peasant.â, which allowed 5 uncommons.
We started it on the mtgo bbs, ie forrums.
Tharionwind created the player run event (PRE) as Peasants Deck Challenge or PDC.
While getting things prepared for the event, we realized we couldnât deck check like in a normal tournament so people could get away with running more uncommons.
Also a very strong uncommon had just came out in Darlsteel called skullclamp.
We then knew it likely couldnât be legal, but tested some of the other powerful uncommons on mtgo at the time such as brain freeze, tendrils of agony, etc.
We realized that there was no centralized peasant banlist, the pojo website had most of the public information on peasant at the time.
I suggested all commons since we believed there were likely no commons strong enough to be banned, and we could be the centralized authority at the time.
We couldnât use the Peasantâs Deck Challenge anymore, but PDC had caught on as news spread of the event.
Tharionwind found the word Pauper as a synonym of Peasant and also starting with the letter âPâ. That became the name of our commons only format.
Early on affinity became a problem, so we banned Cranial Plating after it came out, which was the only card banned for a long time.
We had tested other bans like the artifact lands.
We developed the format, ran tournaments, THEN it spread to paper, but we didnât bother or manage anything with that as we kept the format MTGO only in our eyes.
Wizards kept hearing people pushing for it to be a real format and they eventually added an official game filter on MTGO. It was then later supported by wizards and they made into a format a few years later, without specifying it was for MTGO legal cards.
That is why there was no specific paper ban list our tournaments other than ones created by local game stores or the community.
Some stores had their own banlists for paper, but there wasnât an official banlist until the unification happened, as it originally wasnât meant to be a paper format.
So not, it didnât exist in paper first. You may have heard about it in paper first but it was online in 2004 (or whenever darksteel and fifth dawn came out)
First article on wizards site about it was by JMS, a writer for wizards at the time.
It boosted out numbers from around 16-25 participants in events to 50ish for the next couple of weeks.
Pauper then took off, a Euro Time PDC was around for a bit and they banned artifact lands for a bit. Amazingly, affinity still won one of their tournaments, largely due to cranial plating.
@@mimico4340 That is not accurate.
Not sure why my post was removed.
We definitely started pauper and we made it a MTGO format, it was adapted to paper later.
free soujourner
and Ban Myr Enforcer đ .... I think we can't have two but could be wrong.
@@davidroyale14I think we actually can, I honestly think that affinity could have all their lands banned and then we could even use cranial plating. Would be great actually.
@@mimico4340 That's a good option, not gonna lie haha
Why tf is he mentioning uncommon and rare sorceries like they would have ever been legal in pauper wtf lol
?
@@davidroyale14 ?
Can you be specific which cards?
Troy's talking about hymn and sinkhole. They were reprinted at higher rarities in the masters set versions shown in the video. But were originally common, so they're viable for pauper, troy
