Greetings to sunny Malta! Congrats Joseph, it´s the better planned scissor lift I found for the love extension of our lovers. You cover all, dismissal of compressor noise, stability, security, clean look and easy storage. A true extension to our motorcycles. This was what I had been looking for and finally found. Cela faisait un moment que je cherchais une table élévatrice pour moto. Je trouvais soit des modèles pros très chers, soit des modèles de piètre qualité en provenance de Chine. Tout est dit.
Voilà exactement la table dont je rêvais : de conception ingénieuse, propre, au mécanisme sécurisé et fonctionnant tout en douceur.
Reste plus qu'à réaliser. Je vais m'y atteler.

It's a great idea for a bike lift. I like the fact that it is clean and neat. There are many different styles and types of lifts out there and after looking at many of them i have decided to build one in the same style as you have. I will keep you posted on how it turns out. I don't work using sketches, the only thing you need to consider is the necessary height of the table. Then you can calculate the scissors' height when they are open and even closed so that you can construct the base. I just did a small scale wooden model of the scissors to help me out with the design. It'll help you for sure if you make one. Then it's just a step by step adjustments with the motor and the other parts so as to achieve the final product... Thanks for your comment :)
@25beber The hydraulic cylinder was originally used for a 'MANUAL HYDRAULIC SHOP CRANE'. Then we altered it so as to fit it with the hydraulic pump, which can be bought from any hydraulic supplier. (for safety reasons we attached a non-return valve in the main pipe between the cylinder and the pump)

@markeverest3510 I am not sure that you would be able to find a table jack like this for sale. We just did it for our own use. I don't think you have ever heard about our country, we live in Malta, a very small island in the middle of the Mediterranean (just under Italy). Thanks for you're comment I appreciate it :)
How did you make the grooves in the lower frame for the guides when the tubes are hollow?

With regards to the motor, I used a water pump, removed all extra stuff and just kept the motor and adjusted it to fit the hydraulic pump.

Hi there Joseph! I would like to ask you about the hydraulic pump you use in this proyect. Is it an automotive hydraulic pump?
Maybe a Peugeot 206 or Ford Escort hydraulic pump? I´ll really appreciate if you give us the brand and model of that hydraulic pump. By the other hand i presume the electric motor is a 1/2 hp 220v AC monophase motor. Is that correct? Thanks in advance for your replay! Grettings from Argentina.-

it.s made of scrap iron.. or things we found in the garage. we only bought the hydrolic unit and the hydrolic cylinder ......cost about €500...

Your lift looks great,especially compared to some of the junk available on online auction. Just an observation: your bare foot operating the pedal makes me cringe - wear boots and protect those toes!

what kind of hydraulic pump is this? how strong is engine (kW)? Where's oil reservoir? :) im building one with single sccissor. Actually it's done but im having issues with pump and engine. Ive got punp from tractor and 1kW engine and it's too weak. Next weekend im going to fit 2,2kW. Maybe it'll work but engine is big :/.

What is the weight capacity for these plans?
The max weight I have tested the jack on was of 450kg
What is the average cost of the build?
For the hydraulic unit I spent around $ 650. This including all the fittings and piping needed for it.
For the frames and hollow sections (metal work) I can't give you an exact price because it depends on where you buy it from.
I personally spent around $ 1,000 for the whole thing.
