I have one question about stacking American Silver Eagles: Current year OR Back dates? TRY NEW RETIREMENT SOFTWARE, FREE TRIAL AT: tinyurl.com/293z3rm5
When purchasing ASE, price has a lot to do with purchase, but I do like the ASE TYPE 1 the best, I like when the random purchases surprise me with the year of ASE's. Keep on Stacking. Thank You Sir. THE SARGE
I like plastic ammo boxes from Harbor Freight for storage. They hold 20 tubes and have a great clasp and handle. I buy whatever is the best price in Silver Eagles but prefer Type 1. I just received a tube from Bold and the sticker on the top covered the year. I removed it because I like to see the year. Great information Louie, I enjoy your videos.
The one on the R was a 2010. You know me well enough to know I am always buying for weight for the best part. RCM Collector pieces are just a few over the year. When I see a good deal bon ASE's I will grab them. Just like the Maples. Thanks bud, this was interesting as you always are.
ASE's tend to milk spot. I prefer the recent dates maple leafs, they seam to have conquered the milk spotting issues that plague the brittanias, krugs, and ase's.
Any year Silver eagles when I buy a BU complete tube / solid date. Price tells me which one to buy, Vermillion Enterprises always have great prices. Fingers crossed I get one of your stickers.
ASE = ASE. Bullion coins are NOT collectable. Only if you are making a yearly set should you pay more for a specific date. There is no buy back difference from dealers that I have seen. Yes, the design of the new ASE's are "flatter" than the older ones. The only reason to pay a premium for ASEs over any other type of bullion silver is that they are "coin of the realm". The theory is that if there were some type of confiscation scheme by the government, it would be much harder to legally take away a coin minted in the US with a $1 denomination. Dealers who have been around for a long time will tell you that if the price spikes, the premiums for all bullion silver - regardless of sovereign or private - narrows to almost zero.
Dates don't matter. I just know I won't pay more based on date...a little silly to do that IMHO! I don't buy into the mintage as a reason to pay more. I mean 15 million is still a lot of coins. I suspect that almost every one of them are still around. Maybe as a one off to fill your ASE album but other than that, I'll let someone else buy them 🙂
I definitely wish the design wouldn't have changed and that the premium on them would've stayed down towards this earth so I didn't have a bunch of random numbers of different countries coins and working towards filling up the empty monster box I got. Now I'm wondering how I can trade them in for eagles without having to take a huge hit. Did just order my first tube of eagles since the premiums took off a while ago and REALLY hoping these lower prices stick around so I can just continue to go after my countries coin. For the most part I'm tired of this country and the quality of the products it puts out but I'm here so I'd like to just get my countries coin. My rambling aside, thanks for sharing
I buy enough of each new year to give as gifts to certain peeps. I like solid date tubes as well as mixed date tubes. Even have a cull tube... which is one of my most favorites to go through. I remember pre-ordering my tube of 2021s Type2... very expensive ($38+ each). Wish I'd have gotten the Type 1 instead. lol
Post 2021 Type II. Rumor has it that the security notch is a new system coin. Hopefully I am wrong but it's a good idea to have Type II just in case they only consider it for monetary use. I like the Type one design better though for sure. That's the seal of a Nation.
Buy the Delta for me always and forever. Earlier in the year the 2024 didn't have a premium to buy and people "wanted" the new year so get those if you can trade them and get an arbitrage there. When you can get BU back dates at a discount from current year buy those. A reason that people might want the 2024 other than a single date tube run of years is if they have a goal of a 10 tube box or 25 tube monster box and they want them to all be the same. Brian is a great LCS, his transparency is what makes being a delta guy easy that is rare in the stacking world.
To me a BU eagle is all I want. I do like Type 1 better, but I am just going to shop the cheapest dips when I have dry powder. I did buy a cull lot from APMEX about a year ago and was not disappointed - They actually weren't all that bad, just a bit of toning.
Fortunately I have several different years of tubes of a eagles. I bought a bunch of 23s because for a while that was the best deal but I’ve got 120 ounces of the 2024s. I will probably stay on the 2024s for this year.
I’ve had this little voice telling me to buy. Did the Costco deal when they were 519.99 and another time when they were 539.99. Two tubes each time and then eBay had a deal last week one day for 535 from Bullion exchanges. I’m probably done for a while unless they go cheaper!
Question for you on the term "circulated". These coins were never put into circulation and I can't imagine anyone ever buying a silver eagle and spending them for face amount of $1. How do they become circulated? If they just get dinged up and scratched, at what point would you consider them cull? Thanks. As far as what type I like, definitely the type 1, but what ever the best deal is, I like better. Have burned my metal budged on your spot deals from your website, so I won't be buying for a couple of months now. Hopefully the premiums remain low for a while longer.
I have no clue what circulated eagles are. Cull are clearly messed up. I'm guessing circulated is mismatched frankenstein tubes that probably look just fine, but aren't blast white and scratch free. On that day i walk into the lcs with a monster box, I don't want to negotiate down for "whatever" tubes of eagles. Just the good stuff that he can resell.
$24 for 1 round or $27+ for 1 ASE. Just can't justify the extra premium. I do love ASE but ended up buying Maples, Britannias, Kangaroos and Krugerrands. 1000+ oz silver and owns 0 ASE. Maybe this year. Maybe.
@@losinglouie Lol. Libertad are great! Started stacking in 2023. Trying to build up bulk before getting what I really want for collection. Thank you for your content!
I guess I'm a traitor. I'm American but I prefer Canadian Maples. ☹️ I do have some ASEs but Maples are my preferred sovereign coin. Either way, as long as they're in BU condition, I won't complain.
I personally don’t care for the American pigeons. The US mint is lazy and not very creative. Change the designs every year and make them collectible especially for the premium they charge. Look at the pandas the art work is beautiful and changes. The kookaburra changes. Canada always adds new coin designs. Even the UK adds new designs. The US mint 40 years of the same old blah design that was stolen from older coins.
If you look closely...you will see that lady liberty is just a little too masculine...on the type 2's...kinda like this administration...accentuating their transgender agenda...just a little food for thought...smiles
So long as they're BU I don't care which date. My last purchase a few weeks back, brand new 24's were the best price so that's what I snagged.
When purchasing ASE, price has a lot to do with purchase, but I do like the ASE TYPE 1 the best, I like when the random purchases surprise me with the year of ASE's. Keep on Stacking. Thank You Sir. THE SARGE

Think I’m your 10 thou sub, congrats man 👍
Bullion American Silver Eagles, I buy whatever year I can get the best deal on 👍
US mint expected to drastically increase production of silver eagles so I’m waiting to see if premiums go down with more inventory
I hope so!
2024 looks like it is shaping up to be a high mintage year imo. Plus I like type 1 more.
I love your videos just getting into silver keep it up
Welcome!!

Thanks buddy. My eyes aren't getting any younger.
Same here. Welding is getting harder to do well. Just time kicking our butts eh, LOL.@@losinglouie
Aloha. My name is Mr. Hand. I have but one question for you. What Silver Eagles years do you prefer? As long as they are in good shape, I'm good.
ASE's tend to milk spot. I prefer the recent dates maple leafs, they seam to have conquered the milk spotting issues that plague the brittanias, krugs, and ase's.
I almost never see that myself. Occasionally tho, yes.
i stick with buying whatever is the cheapest ASE. I really like both designs but if forced I would have to go with the type 1.

Big Congrats on 10K Louie.....Those stickers went quicker than the Costco metals.....Congrats anyways friend. Enjoy it!!!!
Monday morning for the stickers
@@losinglouie No worries here. I'll gladly purchase one for the cause. Enjoy the weekend. Just happy for your accomplishment.
Like inflation nothing gets cheaper going forward 😊
The type 2 ASE reveals an Eagle that is preparing to attack it's enemies with a stick.
Savage.
Think I’m sensing a little sarcasm I hope, lol. It’s supposed to be building a nest is what I read, to symbolize us rebuilding after the Plandemic.

If price is same I prefer type 1, but I normally get the cheapest.
I buy enough of each new year to give as gifts to certain peeps. I like solid date tubes as well as mixed date tubes. Even have a cull tube... which is one of my most favorites to go through. I remember pre-ordering my tube of 2021s Type2... very expensive ($38+ each). Wish I'd have gotten the Type 1 instead. lol
I’d get a new tube of 2024 eagles. Having a full tube from a single year is the best.
Agreed
Post 2021 Type II. Rumor has it that the security notch is a new system coin. Hopefully I am wrong but it's a good idea to have Type II just in case they only consider it for monetary use. I like the Type one design better though for sure. That's the seal of a Nation.
Interesting thought. Thanks for sharing.
I only buy type 1's the Type 2's are horrible and have a seagull on them.🍻

Costco just put their eagle deal back up. I just sent an alert to subscribers.
@@losinglouie Thanks for the heads up! I would do Costco, but nearest one to me is 92 miles. So would the membership be worth it just to get eagles?
Good video 🎉🎉🎉
My LCS sells type 1's for $1 less than type 2's. So I only buy type 1 and I like them more.
Great! I like them better, and 2021 would be a score!
Whatever is the cheapest. One ounce of silver is one ounce of silver, so it really doesn't matter.
They call them mini-monster boxes......just to let you know. Readily available in different colors from different mints. They all hold 200 oz.
Backdated for sure. Lower premiums are the way to go. 👊✌️

Damn you’ve already stacked 120 2024’s? Damn that’s killer!

I’m not buying eagles at this time but if I was it would be BU any year.
Neet to see the losinglouie is still your handle old friend. Only a few of us can really appreciate that eh.
Oh, that will go on and on. My dad's nickname you know.
@@losinglouie Priceless, , , , You must be tickled every time you use it. Is your dad still with us ? Have a great week old friend.
Hi Louie, I like the blue box but can’t seem to find it on Amazon- any tips?
Check ebay
I like buying random date BU because it gives you flexibility in how you pay taxes years down the line when you go to sell.
How?
Yea how?
What? 😂
What do you mean? Isn't ASE exempt?

They need to update the denomination to $5 or more
2023s !!!
Im indifferent. But as soon as they try to race swap, ill be out.
Mercanti's reverse whenever possible!
Random date back dates- Type 1 ONLY !
$24 for 1 round or $27+ for 1 ASE. Just can't justify the extra premium. I do love ASE but ended up buying Maples, Britannias, Kangaroos and Krugerrands. 1000+ oz silver and owns 0 ASE. Maybe this year. Maybe.
You sound like me 10 years ago. The majority of my stack was Libertads mostly because they were so cheap.
@@losinglouie Lol. Libertad are great! Started stacking in 2023. Trying to build up bulk before getting what I really want for collection. Thank you for your content!
10k 😊
Buy new Eagles today, tomorrow they will be circulated and worth less. I say buy random, as they will all end up that way.
Random date.
Eagles 🦅 are Eagles 🦅 don’t matter
Buying 100 oz bars
Impressive. There is nothing cheaper right now.
Neither. Buy/sell spread too great on ASEs. 1 oz, rounds and 10 oz, bars for my silver.
The spread is like two dollars if you buy right and sell, right
Silver is silver.
The only problem with Vermillion is he doesn't accept credit cards only takes cash
He takes zelle and personal checks tho.
That is the same as cash to me to pay in one lump sum all at one transaction That being said there are some incredible deals if you have the cash
I guess I'm a traitor. I'm American but I prefer Canadian Maples. ☹️ I do have some ASEs but Maples are my preferred sovereign coin. Either way, as long as they're in BU condition, I won't complain.
Maples are so damn cheap, I completely understand.
Type 2 Eagle looks way better.
I definitely disagree but that's ok 🙂

Exactly the Britannias are my favorite
I would never purchase anything from the US Mint.

I personally really like the type 1. But I’ll take either depending on price including the type 3 (milky or “cull” ASE’s that need a second chance).
