Good to see a bonus vid today!
Great one Louie, thank you!!
Great advice! My only complaint would be in using the word "invest". I would use the term "converting" your disposable income into Gold and/or Silver. "Invest" gives people the wrong impression, since that word is used with two different definitions but only one that typically comes to mind. Beyond that minor complaint...GREAT VIDEO! Dollar-cost-averaging is actually the overall better method, but ONLY because most people do not have the discipline that you exhibit. Plus, if something happened quickly, you could be left with a major loss of opportunity that doesn't take place if you DCA.. Thank you for giving such solid grounded advice to folks. The Gold & Silver community is in much need to rational vs emotional decision making. Great stuff! Keep stacking sir!
Thank you so much for the comment. I too lose my way from time to time : )
GREAT VIDEO!
Quite the opening my friend. This get's a good piece of that monster box a bunch heavier than it was for sure. Good sound advice today for us today. Having that cash stash account makes all kinds of sense. We all need to look at it that way.
It really has been great seeing the premiums on Eagles not so crazy like it's been the last 18 months so I finally pulled the trigger on another tube this month along with other things but hoping these lower prices stick around for a while because I'd like to fill up a monster box with Eagles but hard to do on a limited income. I'll definitely be filming my journey and goals getting reached as I go though. Awesome video, thanks for sharing.
Sold all my Eagles year ago for more gold. Might be time to started buying some again.
I don't use the GSR much but yet I do 😳 With it being around 88, it just doesn't make sense to buy gold right now (although I'd like to be buying). A few years ago now, when the GSR hit 65, I went to a coin show and traded a bunch of silver for gold. It was a great decision as it allowed me to get some gold that would have been tough with pulling $ out of the pocket. It was mostly 90% that I traded that I paid 9x for and they gave me 19x for it. The way I see it, since I doubled my money on the 90%, I paid 1/2 price for the gold. It worked out quite well. Thanks LS. Love those ASE's...been buying a few again myself. Also, buying the Noah's Ark coins. A little better pricing and made by Geiger...although they won't pull as much premium as the ASE's.
People can learn a lot from you. Strategy, patience, shopping around. That's how you do it! And who wouldn't want to double their gold stack? Take care, L
Great advice and putting your plan into action. 100 eagles at todays prices is a solid addition. 👍
Good video
Well said
The black strip is a US Mint seal. However, it looks like that dealer put an additional white strip of tape over it because the US Mint seals tend to come off in shipping. Nice pickups....I will add them to my price watching on dips. Those tips are good....however, the stacker and collector in me battle often 😂
Thanks for the info on the strips. That makes me happy. I fight the collector gene as well lol.
I'm with you completely. I'm mainly Stacker all the way but have the collector in me distracting me all the time
🚂 Keep on a chuggin' Louie, thanks. 🚄
I probably stacked 50 eagles the last 4 years. But now the premiums and GSR and dips are making them more palatable. Thanks for the video my old old old chummy buddy!
Not much downside at the moment. Congrats!
8:30am could you do a segment on tips to get the most when you decide too sell? New to precious metals and following your advice and using your website to get great deals. Looking for advice on the end game when I decide too sell.
Sure, I can do a selling video
Bix weir just made a video talking about how the mint is about to massively start ramping up production of silver eagles so we might see premiums come down hopefully
Awesome Vid I like the the advice....I use my precious metals as a separate savings account....I have my perma-stack and my disposable stack.....I actually sold some of my stack recently and purchased a Tesla paid in full. I know there are Tesla haters but I had to do it seeing I drive roughly 100 mi. a day to work and back
I've driven electric for 10 years. Best financial decision ever. Cheap to power, no tune ups, no oil changes, no brake
jobs and the HOV lane, plus gov't rebates. Solar on the roof. Hell yeah. With that said, I always went for lower priced vehicles and leased. When this lease on the Niro runs out, I will be looking in the aftermarket for my last car. Used prices are ridiculously low. Enjoy!
@@losinglouie Yeah i Love my EV, and yes I have solar at my home paid for which is nice. My pg&e bill went up roughly 45 bucks last couple of months will probably go back down in the summer. I pay a grand total of about 65.00 a mo. for pg&e gotta love that solar!
You got your Bullion order already? I picked up the tube of buffaloes at spot on Jan 18 and still haven't seen them. I used E*Check though. Maybe that was the delay. How do you recommend buying online? I prefer to not use credit card. Even-though faster, most places charge more.
Hope you get those Buffys soon. I use each check all the time, unless I can get it cheaper on eBay using my credit card. That’s kind of the best of both worlds you know.
Yeah when the GSR comes down,Im gonna swap out some silver for gold
All good advice and ⛏️ up's bro
Yep forced savings alrighty, always gonna have some thing of value
First time viewer. I wish I'd have seen this video a couple of years ago LOL. You mentioned something I have not heard before: You think they're going to make people buy bonds. War bonds? Could you elaborate a bit? How do you mean 'make' people do it? My history knowledge is fairly lacking.
Ha, I just finished the video and you said when you started out you bought slabbed coins and sold slabbed coins. Too funny, my first purchase were slabbed coins and I was so happy to get rid of those, even though I took a 40% loss. One was a St. Gaudens and to this day I still have never been able to see the smooth edges with the stars all around. What a joke. Never again. Speaking of smooth edges, nobody likes silver Philharmonics, but they have the coolest edges of all the bullion coins IMO. Smooth and shiny.
Hi: In regard to the bond comment, I think our weak spot is our 401k's. In my view all they would have to do is require all pension plans and 401k's to hold a certain percentage of government bonds. Instant market for their junky debt. I think Japan may already do something like this. Congrats on dumping the slabs. For the most part it's just a way to add cost to modern coins. But I do like my slabbed morgan dollars. It verifies authenticity, which helps value in those cases.
@@losinglouieYes yes, good point. There is a consumer advocate I’ve listened to for years always pushing target retirement funds for everyone who calls in about 401ks. Those have been heavily weighted in bonds since the GFC. They all have pathetic returns in the long run. They may be more suitable for older people. But yes, pension funds and 401ks buy all the garbage WS put together for them. Thanks for the insight
Loui, Have you noticed the loss of fine detail on the Type 2 ASE from the Type 1? I see it everywhere. Is quality dropping?
I don’t believe I’ve actually noticed that, but I do very much dislike the type two design.
Thanks for the reply. Yes, I very much dislike it too! But when I try to buy type 1's, my coins shops want $30 ea. So I guess we're stuck? As for loss of detail, look at a type 1 Lady Liberty and the type 2. Look at the cap, the chest area, the stars on the flag, the stripes on the gown...all washed out on the type2.@@losinglouie
Louie you make so much sense. What a refreshing channel.
AGREE!!!
We're not going to be alive when the dollar "cracks". Right? Still like stacking silver and gold and your videos.
That's a blunt knife.
Whoaaa
These are mint sealed. Can't do better than that.
👍
When silver spiked up to over 30 with premiums, I was kinda bummed actually, Because could not buy more for my stack..
We all should have been selling. Wish I had done more of it.
Black seals are 2023. Silver seals are 2024.
Like it! I have been doing the same thing at these high ratios…but instead of eagles I have been getting into the Royal Tudor Beast Series…I have 100 oz of all the 2 oz versions and working on getting 100 of the 10 oz versions…still need 5 each for the bull and unicorn…buying as I sell stuff on eBay…long term collection for the big flip at the end…seems like the Tudor Beast coins are slightly cheaper than eagles…but not by much…I’m glad I sold all of my eagles when the premiums were sky high…I think eagle premiums are pretty much done dropping…the price might fall when the market crashes…but the premiums will likely go up when that happens…libertad premiums are also down…they are selling for $29 now…finally under $30…Eagles and Tudor beast coins are a good buy right now…just gotta shrink wrap the Royal Mint coins so they don’t get all milky…I’m staying away from gold completely…haven’t bought any gold in over 6 months…and don’t plan on buying any time soon
Are those mini Pandas high premium?
You might be able to end up with 90-1 or a 100-1 if you sell the Pandas at max prices.
lol, a gram of gold is just that. Compare a gram of pamp suise cut off a block compare to the Chinese. I’d take the Chinese for sure. Prettier, more rare, stamped anyway so….. just my opinion. But to have that kind of barterable material in your stack is something I’d be happy about
Awesome purchase of those eagles. Amazing deal at $26 each. Well done. Allocation of money is a great idea, even if you don't spend it right away (waiting for a dip)
$3000.00 plus
You should sharpen your knife, it's painful to watch😡
The seal is from the U.S. Mint. Been there since the type 2 tubes started shipping. Looks like they changed the color to silver for 2024.
I live in Ukraine and in Ukraine the cost of a silver eagle is 44 dollars!!! It's disgusting
Been on the sideline for almost 2 years on silver bullion. I'll buy when spot is under $20 with premiums under 10%. Until then, it's a sucker's bet.
I STACK ..MAPLES!!!! CHEAPER AND 4 9s!!! BETTER AND DONT NEED GLOVES!!! I HAVE EAGLES TOO.
I’m still kinda pissed that they changed the design of the ASE…it’s almost like they made it look ugly on purpose…like letting all the random people across the border and financially supporting illegal wars all over the place…it’s sad😢
I always hope for type one.
I traded a bar for a Chinese Panda. I think it was a fair trade. But yeah, I worry about the Pandas and had to educate myself so that I’d sleep at night being fairly certain it wasn’t a fake.
BTW, loved seeing your cat. Excellent co-host!
Pandas are probably fine. As long as you don’t stack too many of them. Thanks for the comment about sweetie pie. She’s my video copilot lol.
@@losinglouie I’m with you in that I don’t want to stack many of them. If you’re looking at shtf fractionals, I think the Britannias are a very good option (if gold Eagles or Maples are too pricey). They have nice security features unlike our domestically produced options.
one of my least favorite coins is the American Eagle, which is kind of awesome because I know that is most of the worlds favorite and folks pay a premium for them (well maybe not the last 6 months). It's just such a boring looking coin to me. Since silver is the basically the same price it was in 2008, I've moved more to investing in the "art" side of silver. Meaning coins, rounds, bars, I think are amazing to look at. Art that will never go to zero value is good art... ha
So I think of myself is more of a silver art collector than silver investor... by the time I sell, or it goes to my kids, it will probably be $40 an ounce, so I will finally be ahead, but also dead...
Gold on the other hand... investor/collector... giveme them buffalos! 🙂🦬
