My dog passed away 2 years ago. He was my best friend in the whole world, and it devastated me when he left. He was a rescue from the local shelter. The day I adopted him, I had gone with no intention of getting a dog. I was just touring the facilities because I wanted to do some local volunteer work. But there he was in his kennel, and I fell in love immediately. He was with me for 7 years, and went EVERYWHERE I did. He got to see the entire eastern seaboard. My favorite memory was going to Long Island to see a friend, and purposefully detouring through Manhattan so he got to see the big city. The insane traffic and $900 toll was worth it. He was so happy! He stayed propped up against the window with his tail wagging furiously at all the sights, sounds, and smells. And all my friends loved watching him if he couldn't go with me. Never a bad word to say about him. In fact, some of them pressured me to go on trips just so they could spend time with him. I miss him every day. I want to get another dog eventually, because I know there are so many out there who need good homes. I do feel a little sad knowing there may never be another dog quite as special as he was. But I'm glad that I gave him such a good life while he was here.
I'm so glad you and your dog had such a great time together. Lots of lovely memories for you. I hope you find another dog when the time is right for you.

I was so impressed that there are people in Puerto Rico who foster animals - I mean, they have been through so much, barely got the lights on MONTHS after the hurricane(s) and they are fostering animals?! 💪 👏🏼 Thank you to the two besties who adopted these sweet doggos! 💞💞
Yes, we foster and rescue dogs, cats, birds, pigs, horses, etc.

Many years ago, lived on the Upper East Side. Poked my head into a pet store on 2nd Ave one afternoon, don't even know if they still have such things. With a friend. Puppies everywhere. The young women at the counter asked if we would like to adopt one. I said, no, I can't imagine a dog in the city, maybe if I ever move to the burbs. Well, boy did I get a lecture. She lit into me (in a sweet but determined way): dogs in the city live great lives; they see other dogs on the sidewalks every day; they go to parks, with other dogs; they have social lives; they have people, everywhere; etc. Dogs in the suburbs live miserable lives, confined to houses, fenced in yards, never getting out to hang with other dogs, etc etc etc. I have to say, that little lecture changed my perspective. 30 years and three dogs later, I still remember that day. These pups in Manhattan are living their best lives. Don't even think about thinking otherwise!
I love that those two besties adopted sisters. They were already practically sisters but now they are even more like family.

Mine, too. You rarely see this with any pets at the same time💕. As a Pet Nanny...this is so rare. This us a true LOVE between these 2 knowing all they've been thru. I think they're happy for each other❤💋❤. I think GOD will BLESS them ALL❤💋❤.

I'm so happy!! These kind of adoptions makes our work as rescuers so worthwhile!! My rescued German Shepherd is getting adopted by a superb family next month once he finishes doggy school!! Please wish my boy Tiger luck!! He was abused, tied up without food and water for three years.. Fed scraps by the neighbours who were scared of the horrible owner. Once I got info I rescued him within half an hour and the journey has been rough but worthwhile!! Tiger was also blind from malnutrition but now his eyesight is fully restored!! I'll keep visiting him at his new home on and off.... So excited to see him passing with flying colours from his doggy school soon!!

I absolutely love when litter mates can stay together especially when they were in a bad situation and made it through together. It melts my heart with joy to know theses two dogs will live happy, safe and see each other all the time.
