Nikon D60 - Night Portrait Photography

  • The Nikon D60 isn't too bad if you have the correct lenses AND if you have enough light to work with. It's an oldie but a goodie. You'll definitely need a fast aperture lens to really get the best low light settings, like the 35mm 1.8G DX or the 50mm 1.8G lenses I used. If you're just starting out with night photos, I would HIGHLY recommend a tripod to make sure your images aren't blurry from hand held shots.
    With night photography, it just REALLY depends how much light you get to work with. With the D60, I feel like anything above ISO800 the images will turn out quite grainy and images not as sharp as you'd like them to be. BUT, the D60 didn't have too much trouble catching focus while I was taking these shots too! Which was actually quite surprising to me. It's still an awesome camera to use. I've done a review on this camera already, but have YOU used your D60 (or had a D60) and used it for night photography? Let me know!

    you have to make the same one with the nikon d70. cameras with CCD sensors have a beautiful grain and the tones come out with a strong saturation that gives a special look to the photographs. good channel I already saw several videos continue like this and add analog lenses.

    Great Video this helps me out alot. I have a friend that has a D60 and is just starting out in Photagraphy on a buget. She wants todo Portraits Photagraphy mostly of kids. I would like to buy a lens for here as a gift. That 50mm 1.8 G seems to be very good . I'm thinking if she upgrades in the future that lens could continue with on her journey. I know Nikon make great manual fast 50mm but for entry level and she also want to shoot kids it would be cheaper but frustrating to nail focus.
    Let me know your thoughts. Thanks again.

      The 50mm 1.8G is definitely an excellent lens. How good is the 50mm 1.8G? I'm on my 3rd copy. I sold my last 2 and I've always come back to it. That's how good it is. See if you can find a used 50mm 1.8G locally. I STILL remember dropping $220 on a brand new 50mm 1.8G back when it was released. And wow, it did not disappoint. I hope your friend really improves their photography with that lens because it was stuck on my camera for a few months :)

    • @BoostLeekdMedia
      @BoostLeekdMedia  Před 9 měsíci +1

      @@starshades478 The noise is coming from the camera compensating for low light situations.
      The 85 is tough because, if you're not in manual mode or not using a tripod, the camera will automatically adjust the ISO and the shutter speed, making your images look blurry and have a lot of grain.
      If you know what you're doing, the 85 is a very nice street lens.
