    Thank you for your always cheerful spirit. My dad is receiving hospice care and has anywhere from a few hours to a few days to live. To take my mind to a better place, I watch videos on a handful of CZcams channels. Yours are the ones I look forward to the most and they always make me smile. Thanks for your channel and thanks for the vids!! Be careful with that fencing, it will “bite” you when you least expect it.

It is very good to see you and your generation working the way this county was built on, you, and grant are going to have a VERY SUCCESSFUL LIFE TOGETHER! I have (3) older sisters so I learned very early about woman, I am 54 years old, have been a professional carpenter since I was15, so ya know what that did for me😊 built ALL my sisters homes, and ALL of there kids, but they all learned by watching me! And ALL of them are successful today because of that, and because of YOU YOUNG LADY! Keep farming girl, we ALL NEED YOU! John

    Corn $6/bu near me. Approx 10 years ago scrap was $240/ton. Today $150/ton. People cleaned a lot of scrap from the yards and trees. Land rents went up when corn went to 7 about 7-8 year ago. Then when corn went down below 3 land rents stayed high(the same). So this time rents should not go up. Wonder if landlords will understand?

      @thomasboese3793 Před 3 lety +1

      Books have been written to answer your simple question. Before you buy a few dozen books from Amazon, here is a simplified answer...
      Commodity futures contract prices are on the move constantly up/down whenever the markets are open. The government reports like the one Laura talked about can drive prices, however, daily price action can be influenced by many factors. {Weather, acres planted, pest damage, acres harvested, yield, and I'm sure there are others.)
      Trading hours for those who want to speculate, 7:00p.m. - 7:45a.m. and 8:30a.m. - 1:20p.m. (Settles 1:15p.m.) (Sun-Fri) CT.
      For a farmer like Laura, prices can "never" be too "high". On the flip side, for entities that buy commodities to produce items for sale in say the supermarket, prices can "never" be too "low". Then there are people who speculate and for them as long as the price "moves" (up or down) they are happy to make a profit.
      {WARNING! Commodity futures trading is a Zero-Sum Business. It takes two entities to "make a market". (One "Buys"/One "Sells" at an agreed price.) One will make a profit and the other will lose as the price action of the market moves.}
