You've got the wrong tool for doing most of your upcoming jobs.
Send that skid steer back and trade it for an excavator, with a grading blade to finish your road and a backhoe bucket to dig your foundation and utility trenches for your home's build.
Once your road is finished, then you won't need the skid steer to move materials from the road to the house. The delivery trucks will drop off your materials on site, instead.

excellent!! Just a little trick to get out of a "being stuck situation"....lift up your bucket a bit until you can tilt the bucket down all the way back...then lower the front end of bucket into the dirt as far as it goes and then tilt the bucket forward while backing it up....keep doing it...if necessary.

As soon as I saw you bring the skid steer in, without tracks, I knew immediately that you were gonna have a lot of struggles with the slope of your land and the amount of rain you get. Tracks are a necessity when you are dealing with wet, sloped areas, and even tracks don't get it done sometimes. You might look into either swapping our for tracks, or getting the tracks that go over tires.

Use long rubber mats add chains
If your machine does get stuck in mud, you can try these tips to get it unstuck:
    Add traction
Use items like floor mats, blankets, clothing, leaves, sticks, or rocks to increase traction.
    Reduce tire pressure
Lowering the air in your tires will make them spread out and create a wider area of contact with the ground.
    Keep the wheels straight
Gently step on the gas and switch from drive to reverse to create a rocking motion.
    Don't spin the wheels
Spinning the wheels can cause you to lose traction and get stuck even deeper.
    Use a winch
Attach a winch to a secure object, like a tree or another vehicle, to provide a powerful pulling force.

    • @TheOleHermit
      @TheOleHermit Před 25 dny +2

Yes, same here. It is overkill and needs much more torque, plus more wind velocity to provide that torque.
The main problem is being surrounded by trees that are killing the wind. So it only needs a taller tower to get it above the tree line. I suggested that a few years ago.
Was horrified, while watching those cavemen completely trash that vertical wind generator worth several/tens of $thousands, just to repurpose it's mounting base that could have been made DIY from scratch for only ~$100 with their welder and a 3/8" plate of steel stock, exactly as they did with their porch's pillars. It could have been auctioned on ebay. /smh

Jordan, You'll continue having this mess, even with gravel/sand until you make it MUCH deeper so water can trickle through the gravel bed underneath roadway... you'll need about a foot to foot and a half for depth in your case like at the section at main road where culvert was failing... Instead of full width, try making two really deep Vee channels as culverts at the wheel widths for trucks and skid steer with a thinner cosmetic section in middle and on sides for walking etc. You may need to build up several layers on successive years until it fully beds in vs erosion underneath.
Use those round rocks for decoration, NOT in your road, that needs edged materials that interlock to distribute loads. Why not mount two electric winches with auxiliary batteries to skid steer for self extraction, maybe even make them mountable to some screw into the earth anchors in the areas you're getting stuck most instead of truck ? They could be useful later if service vehicles are getting stuck, which WILL happen... Besides, you need a post hole digger attachment for skid steer to dig foundations for house, it will pay for itself in time/efforts saved like skid steer is doing now.

Looking great! If you get short on time or energy, I think you can take that windmill thing into an auto or machine shop to take it out with their bearing puller or some air compressor tool.

  • @AdventuresofExploring4848

You need a tractor on tracks, not tires. The tire ones are not good in Mud

Mother Nature does what she does and we have to work around her whims. Rain produces mud and mud creates stuck skid thingy. BUT Jordan, Kaylee and the Fellas keep on trucking! You guys aren't let a lot of rain impede your efforts because that is the way you are. Loved seeing Kaylee working on the skid machine, what a talented woman you got. I also see in Kaylee a new joy and happiness plus her interaction with Sadie is a great thing to see. With all that said have a safe week and prosper.

Have you considered getting tire traction aids for your tractor wheels? They help a lot with the mud, you can get chained ones fairly affordable.

Tires will always spin, tracks you can go just about anywhere. I know there's a big cost difference and it's probably not available in your area.

Sometimes, when you get your skid steer stuck in the mud, if you scream real loud the vibration will get it unstuck. lol
    You’re doing great!!!

Great video! If you're often working in muddy or slippery conditions with your bobcat, I’d highly recommend looking into over-the-wheel (OTW) tracks. They can significantly improve traction and maneuverability in tough environments, reducing the risk of getting stuck and helping you get the job done more efficiently. They’re a game changer, especially when you need extra stability and control!

You need heavy duty chains chains om the tires. With the weather you have there they will help you to go over any area. Tools nowadays are made so cheaply that they fall apart. I had a hammer that was in a tool kit that I bought, and I was hammering a nail into the wall. Next thing I know, all I had in my hand was the handle. I have my father's hammer now, and it's over 80 years old, and never let's me down. Have a great day my friends ❤️🙂⚘️🚜.

If you have access to a torch (ie MAPP GAS, PROPANE), apply wd40 or equivalent solvent into hole where the steel bolt/pole goes through. Allow it to penetrate then heat as hot as you can get it. Drive hard with the mallet a few strong strikes to help free up the bolt. This should allow it to be removed easier. If can, use liquid nitrogen to cause the metal to shrink for easier removal but liquid nitrogen may be hard to come by. Only other cold option would be to try and shrink metal using frozen co2 pellets (dry ice). Either way it'll be a process.

I guess the next thing I am wondering is, since you brought power in the property, and your wind generator is designed to work with the grid, where would you get rid of it now you have a grid. And the second part is I have seen that egg beater style generator working for 40+ years and a few areas where it was visible, it doesn't have to look like something that sits up on a tower that has a propeller in the end that rotor that you have is very efficient. Now I do understand that you may not have a handle on the differences between a grid feedback generator and an off grid generator system run by the wind but the one you have is pretty sound and merely needs to be dealt with on its output, and how it will be either Fed back into the grid or Fed into battery storage which apparently you already have from your solar system. I don't quite understand again why the guts of it have to be taken out or destroyed but perhaps there's more than I know about that's going on with that rig

I’ve been thinking for a long time now that you’d definitely benefit from a skid steer. They are so versatile with limitless attachment options. Just curious why you bought a wheel loader and not a track loader? Tracks are so much more stable than wheels and won’t bog down during your rainy season. I own a Kubota SVL 75-3 and it’s been probably the best purchase on our property ever. I doubt you’ll ever sell yours once you get really good at using it and realize its many, many uses. Be sure to invest in a very good Zert gun and use it daily on all the grease fittings.
