    Tech Tip #1 Oil is cheap and your motor is not...So always change your dirt bike engine's oil after 15hrs of use. However you have to keep in mind that other factors need to be considered as well like tracks and trails, so you may want to consider changing the oil every 3-4 hrs of use. This is probably the most common and crucial tip but there might be beginners that might not be aware changing oil more often than it's required so it was a thought possibly could save your engine. TY for the video.

    • @bobg1219
      @bobg1219 Před měsícem +1

      I agree, bought a 2021 wr450 for riding trails and I change the oil every 3 to 4 hours of hard use. The oil still looks clean but it's been through high temperatures on the trail. Oil is crucial for engine longevity!

    Incredible build RM ZOOK !! I raced rm 250s for 12 years 89 to 2002 and love them all as I have a soft spot for them ❤I was down at Millville over the weekend so am a little behind on watching 👀 my tech tip is when assembling you crank into cases like everyone put your crank in freezer over night and take your wife's favorite lamp and set the bulb on the bearing overnight and it will expand slowly and evenly and cold crank drops in ( my tip is also budget minded ) back to the RM as it looks like a factory bike = mint ❤ old school terminology there with mint !!! Hey uncle tony it was hot 🔥 and humid watching Sexton destroy the boys just like skillshack and revival- you two are the best 🏁

    Hey C! Hope all is well with y’all haha.
    Tech tip when changing the clutch basket assembly out. Just leave the plates and fibers in to create drag instead of removing them and using the hub locking tool to get that pesky nut off with an impact on reverse. Broke an inner hub once when using the dam tool to hold it in place. Got this tip off a old retired head mechanic of our local yahama Kwai and Honda dealer. Sadly they all retired and closed the dealership.

    Here is my "tech tip". This works for bearings in the cases. Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Place side cases on cookie sheet. Place in oven. Go in living room, hangout with friends, smoke a bunch of weed, forget about cases until you hear loud CLUNK CLUNK CLUNK. Erupt into laughter, remove cases from oven. Give them a tap incase one stuck. Turn off oven. Smoke more weed while allowing parts to cool. Laugh some more.

    My tech tip I'd for loading up to go ride. I drilled holes in my box and put a plate on the bottom attached to another plate in the box where my bikes foot pegs would be. I had a heavy turnbuckle bolted or welded to the plate
    That i.would hook it to my footings and also had a wing nut above the turnbuckle. So when I tightened it to my desire I would back the wing nut down to the buckle so it couldn't move once tightened. It was amazing never had to use straps ever again unless i.had another bike in there. Best idea to part I ever made and had

    Sweet! Finally able to catch the fresh video early. I'm gonna have my tech tip be more of a cosmetic tip. I have two IT175's, one 77 and a 79. The 77 is my rider and the 79 I've had since the early 80's when I was a kid. I'm a bit of a neat/clean freak and didn't like looking like I'm riding a hoopty. So what I did is completely tore apart my 77' and rubbing compounded and waxed every single inch of my bike. Even between the fins on the cylinder. I really can't afford a newer bike and had a good runner but a nice survivor so I just cleaned it up. Works on the plastics as well. Had a lot of compliments over the last two years. A lot of guys thought I did some painting. I just cleaned it up. Even works on the rubber and the airboxes, brings a lot of the color back. Wax works as a nice barrier. The crud washes off easier and then you can spray some PJ-1 too if you like. So now I have a nice looking bike on the cheap and can be proud on the trails. Stoked to watch this RM build. As a kid I was obsessed with them. Just always loved the looks of the RM's. I apologize for the long post guys but maybe I helped out somehow. Have a great weekend everyone....

    The best starting fluid in the world is WD40. The propellant burns great and the oil lubricates like two stroke oil. There is no danger to the bearings unlike regular starting fluid which dries out the bearings. I learned this when I was working on Jetskis back in the 80s. Thanks to Cliff and Steve who owned and ran Jetco in Sacramento CA. I wonder if anyone will remember them. Another awesome video!!!

  • @thomasb5730
    @thomasb5730 Před měsícem +1

    Tech Tip:
    Clean your air filters regularly and correctly. Maintaining clean air filters ensures optimal performance and extends the lifetime of your engine. Your engine requires a perfect air-fuel mixture for longevity and optimal operation, especially in 2-stroke engines where the fuel-air mixture travels through the crankcase to the combustion chamber. If the air filter becomes clogged with dirt or debris, it can severely impact engine performance by restricting airflow, leading to reduced power output and efficiency. Additionally, contaminants entering the engine can act abrasively, potentially damaging cylinder walls or bearings. Regular maintenance of your air filters is crucial to avoid these issues and keep your engine running smoothly.

    Half fill your Jug or tank first then add your 2stroke oil. Shake and Bake then fill up the rest of your fuel for the desired ratio, re-shake! I can't win the bike because I live in Spain my tech tip is use boyesen reeds and not vforce 😉💥👌🏼

      Dang it! You can still check out our other channel, though, the one with the current YZ 125 giveaway.
      That one is called MX Skill Shack!
      I kind of like the look of the Vforce better as it uses the OEM intake flange. But they are both incredible systems.

    Congrats to who ever wins the comment giveaway. Lol I know I won't win a comment so I'm not even going try.
    Tech tip, build the way you want, don't worry about what others think. Everyone is a expert these days and keyboard warrior, enjoy what ya do and do it the way you want to do it. Use blue loctite on most bolts, antisieze on components like dowl pins that like to sieze and rust. If you powder coat a frame, grind of the powder where the main coil will connect to frame to ensure a proper ground. Use a quality torque wrench so you don't strip out or break any hardware. Don't force stuff. If it's nothing together smooth, take a minute to research before you damage something.
    P.s. that old hygge exhaust ya had would look good on my 06 rm250 build charles 😂.

      Wait a minute… you just said you weren’t going to try, then dropped some of the best tips in the chat!
      I picked you as my win winner for this comment giveaway 🫵
      I like your first tip. “don’t worry about what others think.”
      Reason being, most people are so worried about something like this in the beginning that they do not even try. Who knows what could’ve been!
      The other tips were great as well.
      Congratulations dude, never say never and never stop trying… even if you think something isn’t going to happen (just like this!)

    what you know about the rm is impressive and then you rattle off all that info about the 450yz carbs. are you remembering all this because these are bikes youve had and worked on through the years or have you torn down and worked on everything and just retain the knowledge from the very first teardown/rebuild? euro bikes too?
    tip would be to give yourself enough space when youre taking your bike apart, lay out a tray or shop towel and set your nuts, bolts, springs, etc. in the same pattern they come out, like and exploded diagram. makes reassembling much easier
