  • This is a look back at Suzuki's all-new 2001 RM250. This was the last major revamp the RM250 received before the eventual move to four-strokes in the mid 2000s.

    Man I've missed these videos! I'm 51 and never made it past intermediate in MX and Expert while racing off road. I too have owned all of the milestone bikes and continue to have several in the shop. I'm not much faster on my stock KX 450 than my heavily modified XR250 trailbike, (A-loop seat and tank, suspension, etc.) Happy to still be riding and healthy enough to do so. You are my hero so i don't feel ignored by media. Thank you for YOU

    I always loved the shootouts. So can you please make moore 250cc two stroke shootouts from the 90s and 2000s. It would be nice if you could make them from 1990 - 2007. Keep up the good work!

    MXA placed this bike dead last in 01 while the 125 got 2nd. The 2000 finished mid pack in every shootout… Suzuki got this bike dialed by 05 but I’m glad I held onto my 2000. I know Ping preferred the 00 to the 01. The 99 and 00 are not the most visually appealing I’ll agree, but they are some of the best bikes on a tight track.

      The bike won the 2001 and 2002 250 MXGP Championship with Pichon and finished second in the championship to Everts in 2003. The bike was great from the get go.

    Is this the engine that copied the YZ250? Or was that a later one? Always heard Suzuki flat-out duplicated the YZ250 engine at some point, and I think even the VForce reed setup works for both engines.

      The YZ was head and shoulders better

    • @mikeandrews1899
      @mikeandrews1899 Před měsícem

      I would say my RM was definitely better on arenacross and local Saturday night supercross tracks . The YZ was the better bike on true outdoor motocross. I believe the zuki was at a much bigger disadvantage outdoors than the YZ was indoors . The RM felt more SX style specific characteristics and the YZ was of a much more overall compatible characteristics. YZ was good at both , great at MX. The RM was great at SX , and not very good in MX . The faster and rougher the course got , the more unnerving the experience became. That is my opinion of my experience of racing both those motorcycles.....almost a quarter century ago 🤔

    Good review of 2001 rm 250 can we have good full review of 2004 2005 and 2006 rm 250 2 strokes they are golden years best ones 👍I have 2006 k6 rm 250 love way it handles and goes I wouldn't want anything Else getting rare now mint ones.... everyone wants honda or yz for no good reason the rm is far better bike and I rather something a bit different carnt beat colour team yellow looks sweet with gold rims... Also when set up proper they are awesome bikes and fast power from bottom to top .. The last gen rm bikes were king of 250 2 strokes it was bike to beat before 4 stroke crap come on seen and spoiled motorcross for last 20 years .never mind I wasn't stupid enough to waste my money on boring 4 stokes I was wise and kept rm 250...😂 Two strokes forever always keep 2 strokes alive 😉👍

      Cheers mate it's true rm 250 2 strokes from 2004 to 2008 are all pretty awesome bikes you can smoke alot of 450 riders on track and holeshot 450 no problem 😂🤣🤣. Thats how good they are 19 years later nice slim still look pretty new aswell 👌shame suzuki honda kawasaki stopped making 2 strokes... If they were still making them ktm 2 stroke shit and gas gas and all other stupid 2 stroke brands out there now wouldn't be having there own way.. taking over 2 stroke seen I hate ktm and gas gas bikes you carnt even torque bolts with proper settings from work manual without snapping bolts all time because of there stupid small size 😕 horrible bikes to work on and yes I hate to say it but I had ktm and know others with them Ive also had gas gas trials bikes so I know how crap they can be when you need to tighten bolts. thank god I still kept my 2006 rm 250 k6 one of the awesome golden years to have always puts smile on my face when riding all these years later 😁also Loads cheaper than 4 stroke to rebuild when needed .... looks sweet I've fully rebuild my bike and engine 3 times since bought new in 2006 the cost is nowhere near what it would cost you to fully rebuild 4 stroke 450 mx bike CRAP .. Always keep 2 strokes alive and remember NO SMOKE NO POKE 😂😂
