- Unfortunately, although there are lots of fantastic levels and stages in video games, there are also a fair few awful ones.
For the 30th episode special, we aren't just looking at one or two levels, we're going over EVERY level from the hilarious yet shitty Amiga port of ESWAT. I've known this game practically all my life, and it's time I showcased all its hilarious shortcomings for all to see.

It's amazing how much of a difference music makes in a game. This whole video just feels... empty without it.
I know, it was really getting to me at some points.
I got excited when i saw the E-SWAT dude on the thumbnail. I played the hell out of the Genesis version, so i figured the video would be about that. Oh, well. Now I know there's an Amiga port of the game. And it reeks.
I love the idea of having a co-commentator being a different text color. That’s really clever.

That building collapse sequence is kind of beautiful. Between the slowdown, the slow pace and the kangaroo men it's just hilarious to watch.
When that woman said "thank you officer", she literally sounded like a man trying to do a woman voice...

I like how he grows two extra arms to hug the girl instead of actually the sprite being changed
This protagonist is an embarrassment to important armor guys everywhere. Getting pushed around by rejects and even getting killed by a God damned door. And he doesn't even get to claim to be smart either; he became sickeningly easy to Joseph Joestar after a while with the "hey, let's party" line, thinks that firing 3 bullets per single instantaneous press is a bright idea, and even starts his attacking deep into enemy territory where he can take cheap hits despite having a God damned gun.
It's telling how much better that other version is when I try to Joseph Joestar the guy and he makes it fail. Also, averting cheap hits, showing things we're supposed to see, and freaking having music.
And yeah, thank you for that abusive relationship analogy. I could make a point with it about how both games and girls have betrayed me too often.
The boss life bar is zeroes because the boss is a zero himself.

"Hey lets party"!? More like "Hey, lethargy!". Absolutely hilarmoose vid! So the first three bosses are; Big Ben from the SOR series with a shield(or those enemies from Shinobi/Shadow Dancer, made boss), Antonio aka the boomerang guy from SOR1 before he got swole, and Drake, the 3rd stage boss from Final Fight 3, also, before he got beefy. Wow, and the rest of the game is something else!

..Huh, I just notice that for the criminal profile of the last boss, in the Amiga version, it says "alleged very nasty person" instead of "alleged war criminal" like the aracde version. That's some..bizarre censorship. Also, the Mega Drive port of this game is quite different (It's almost an entirely differnet game!), and probably worth playing in its own right.
Ah yes, a classic example of a great arcade game getting lazily ported to a home computer. Happened to a lot of coin-ops.
I think it would be interesting if you made a one-off video on the differences between Puyo Puyo, Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine and Kirby's Avalanche. Maybe it could be a sequel of sorts to Creepy Bad Endings 76

I have an idea for a Boss Analysis episode: Mini-bosses and Bosses that changes their pattern and/or gain new attacks on the hard/expert difficulty. For example, Neera Li and Lord Brevon from Freedom Planet, and almost all bosses from Terraria.

I came home from work, watched this since it was on my recommended.. I fell asleep sometime halfway, and woke up when I heard the music from the arcade port.. its funny to me how the noise grunts, gunshots, and death screams put me on the first stage of sleep..

The enemies disappearing without a trace reminds me of Left 4 Dead 2’s German/Australian/low violence version, and how every special ammo type just makes zombies disappear without a trace. They don’t die and fade away like normal kills do to zombies, they just completely disappear the instant they’re shot.

The intro sounds like what happens if you put the Inspector Gadget theme, the Cannon Fodder theme, and the Geno forest theme in a blender.
Since I was interested in knowing exactly WTF is going on, I looked up a longplay of the arcade version to see if it made more sense. And actually, it does.
First, you see your cop arrest the perp at the end of every level, so they don't just disappear or die. For example, with the crumbling building, Dirty Duffy is supposed to be on the right with a plunger, and when you get out of the building, he surrenders. Rats Lee is in the monster truck that tries to run you over.
Also, the arcade game has the ability to grab ledges in arm's range, but not jump range, and haul yourself up. That's what the stupid giant jump is supposed to be a replacement for.
And remember, expensive seal wastes aerodynamic teens

i recently played this game several months ago.. believe it or not, for the first time. i remember liking the arcade as a child. I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt and say it was a rushed launch title, but it came out roughly ten months after the Genesis release. im sure thats the case for over seas. Maybe it was rushed because they wanted to cash in on its arcade, but no. this one was just made as cheaply as possible to collect every buck they could. i enjoyed your review. it was spot on.

I remember playing the Master System port of this game when I was a child. It wasn't exactly a good game, but it looks better than this one. I remember I hated how in that version you only had 2 hits when you didn't have the armor, and enemies swarmed at a faster pace too

I was a little worried that you were gonna shit all over the Genesis or arcade original versions...then you said Amiga, and I didn't even know the Amiga got a port...thanks to this video, I know it didn't get a port, it got a mockery.
The normal death sound sounds like an animal from ZT1. I forgot which one, though, but it sounds oddly nostalgic to me.
