A quick note on this one! The DJI Power 1000 can actually do 2,200W of total output. I said 2,000W in the video, so even more than I thought!

Bought a power 1000 to solely use it for UPS purpose. Yea it took around 20ms to switch from grid to battery but my PC PSU and monitor can handle that without any issue.
It is the quietest and one of the cheapest 2.2KW 1KWh UPS on this planet! Expect 5x noise and cost from APC, Emerson and Eaton with halved period of wattanty.
However when AC is on, even with 0 Watts output the fan is still audiable. I am spamming DJI service on a weekly basis for a quieter firmware update

Picked up the Power 500 - super compact and lightweight. I had it out earlier this week with my Air3 and the fast charging for drone batteries is ridiculously fast. I started with 3 full batteries and only stopping for battery swaps I had a never ending supply of batteries. By the time the second battery reported low battery, the first battery was already charged. Two tips - if you can return to home when the first low battery alert sounds you can retain just enough power in the battery that it doesn't need the full 45 minutes on the charger. Second and more important, don't put your drone battery on top of the charging unit. While it doesn't get the drone battery so hot that it creates a problem, it will slow the charging rate of the drone battery to reduce overheating. Keeping the drone battery in the shade a full cable length from the Power 500 maintained a full fast charge right up to 95% charge, where it will automatically start to slow down.

Another great video! Would love to see a follow-up on this in a few months time.
Purchased the DJI Power 1000 a few days after launch and have to say, I'm very impressed but have some small niggles. I've run it through about 10-12 cycles and I'm using it more as a battery system for overland travel in my Jeep Gladiator, largely to power an ARB 50qt refrigerator and for charging / powering various items in remote camping settings.
The 1200/600 watt charging switch is great, but wish it was a 3-way switch to allow for 300 watt charging from the AC inverter of vehicles which are often limited to 400 watts.
Feel like it should come bundled with the DC charging cord for vehicles as most competitors do, however the SDC adapters/dongles aren't expensive. At normal pricing, the DJI will easily be less expensive than competing Goal Zero / Jackery products. This unit is really feeling like it will shake up the market.
Build quality, fit and finish, ports and overall shape / portability of the 1000 are excellent at this price point. Five year warranty after registration really makes one feel confident in the purchase.

With all of these power stations, that's a calculation you need to figure on your own. I wish their site offered a calculator that you could input your info and they could spit it out for you. Essentially though, you're looking at (total number of watts) x (total number of hours) = watt-hours. So if you're pulling 1,000 watts and you have a 1,000Wh power station, you could run it for one hour. If you're pulling 250watts with that same station, you could run it for four hours

    • @DavidManningvlog
      @DavidManningvlog  Před 2 měsíci +3

I might have to create a whole video explaining sponsorships and how that all works and my views on them. For any review channel or review website you've ever seen, like Top 10 Lists from Buzzfeed or PCMag or TechRadar, the companies send over the products to be reviewed and usually those products are sent back after the review is over. They don't have any say in what content you produce with them and they don't get a preview of that content before it posts. That's necessary for any CZcams channel or Tech Website to make reviews on the latest gear, there's just no getting around it. It would be impossible to buy all of these things and still run a business. Sponsorships though mean that a company is asking you to create content and would usually like to preview that content before you post it. I have maintained some pretty strict rules about sponsorships, which has lost me many opportunities. Mainly that you can pay me to say something I already believe about your product, but you can't pay me to say something I don't believe, and you can't pay me to not say something that I feel needs to be said. Support my channel or not, those are my rules. Like I said, maybe a whole video explaining my view on all of this would be good!

I think the total USB output using both ports simultaneously is 140w or 140w max singley.
While the unit is being charged up, can it simultaneously charge AC and DC plugged in items?
I'd also like to know how easy it is to disassemble to change the batteries.
What is the power conversion efficiency rating?
    It couldn't run my refrigerator for 48hours, I have a 3,000 watt power station and I won't get 48hours.

I just purchased the 500 and tested it out this week - both USB C ports deliver 100W simultaneously. You can also use two USB C cables from different power sources and get 200W charging. This is a great little feature for the 500 - not sure why they decided to leave this out of the 1000 (Possibly because it would take a very long time to charge the larger battery pack).

@@Visualographer_electricity is not the same in any form. The requirements for usage of AC versus DC matters, and the charging equipment and charging time differs. AC voltage over a bridge charges DC faster. Battery to battery charging is slow, decreases the life of both batteries simultaneously and solar charging is really slow and can only get faster with a lot of invested money.
AC power from DC is very inefficient, good in a pinch but has low amperage.
You can get similar performance from a UPS battery backup, but a person would look silly carrying it around.
