It is a shame that Sardar Patel did not consider the country above himself and Gandhi ji. Many others like Bose even M L Nehru had disagreed with the Mahatma and took a different approach for the sake of the country. They openly told Gandhi ji that his policies were not the best for the country. Patel did not do that. Secondly, if Nehru was as calculating and cunning as Modi has turned out he could have left Patel out of his cabinet and finished off his career, as the present PM has done. Patel's claim to fame is what he did as the home minister to which he was appointed by Nehru. Nehru and Patel had differences on several issues and expressed that openly, but I admire both of them that for the sake of the country they worked together. I strongly feel that India would have been very different today had Patel lived longer. Patel was strong enough to challenge Nehru, advice him and worked with him No one ever since has done that, challenge and openly disagreed with the PM. Nehru could have thrown Patel out of his cabinet for disagreeing with him the way Patel did. But he did not do that. After Patel passed away Nehru gave Congress tickets to both his children and not to his own, Indira, who get elected to the parliament, more than once. It would have been very interesting, and informative had Nehru had a chance to write his autobiography. That would have told us how his mind worked, his relationship with the others and how he decided on the issues the way he did.

@@ROYVIDEOCLIPS i won comment on development status of that period but because Nehru added kashmir however messy it was (it was supposed to be messy all thanks to pak) India's foreign policy was by far the best in his period (the descion non alliance )and you have to give credit to that man because he was the first pm and according to me every pm tries very hard to work for the people and i cant imagine the whole cabinet and the pm deserves credit because they sucessfully run the first govt which is not easy after those india pak riots and everything that had gone down it easy to comment on past but future generation will see us as the same they would also makes jokes about demonetisation (a failed policy) and all that
