Being childless can present unique challenges as we age, especially when it comes to planning for our care and support needs. Without children, we may not have an automatic support system in place, and we may have to rely on friends, neighbors, or paid caregivers for assistance.
Having no adult children to provide support can be daunting, but there are steps you can take to ensure that you have the resources and care in your later years.

I am 51, never married, no children and this is always in the forefront of my mind. Thank you for the video!

Very good advice, thank you! I can not stress the importance of having a good financial planner. They offer so many resources for safely growing your wealth (whatever that may be) and many plans for your long-term care. So critical. There are programs for long-term care where if you don't end up using it, your investment is returned, but only a good financial advisor can direct on these programs. I wish to age in place, therefore building my strength and health is very important to me and have a trainer to get me on that path. Please don't live for just today. it's a massive mistake.

I have a husband who is 12 years older, and a child with disabilities. I have no nieces or nephews. So, in many ways, I must plan my future on my own. I certainly found your topic helpful and many things to think about

This worries me often even though I'm only 65.

Exactly. And even if one has them, they may not be able to rely on them for help when it comes down to it - for so many reasons. Best to plan ahead if at all possible... Thanks for watching.

Canada has government funded LTC, my dad and mom have money so have to pay, another client is on welfare in the same very nice facility. Mom and dad show gratitude, the other they have to chase around to get her to meals etc. She seems cognitive just not thoughtful.

It's so hard to tell - there are more than 120 types of dementia and that lady may be missing her "thoughtful" cognition because of it. I hope your parents are doing well. :)
