This may be some cultural thing. But, if I'm in a large group and we are missing a girl of the group, I would expect everyone to stay until we get ahold of her. Leaving a girl alone to find another girl sounds insane to me.

here after the afterparty-minx drama and wow, good for you qt for confronting minx about her alcoholism. that whole entire situation was the definition of chaos.
Do not leave anyone alone in Las Vegas if you care about them at all. Buddy-system, basic stuff guys.
I wish my guy friends were a little more like QT. When I was 22 or 23 I was left incoherently drunk and throwing up around the corner from a dive dance bar in Chicago (which served glow-in-the-dark drinks), and my âfriendsâ apparently just thought âOh, D** is gone,â and just got in their car without me and left ⊠with my wallet, which one of them had grabbed from my coat, without my knowledge, to pay for more drinks. I wonât bore readers with details, but I wandered around in a part of the city I was totally unfamiliar with, INCOHERENTLY close to blackout drunk, and something very, very, VERY bad nearly happened to me, I was pulled out of that situation by seven Latin American dudes in a beat-up passenger van heading to their pre-dawn job, they took me to a gas station, I babbled at them in Spanish, and they felt bad enough for me that they then drove me all the way to my momâs apartment ⊠a nearly two-hour drive, completely out of their way. I arrived there as the sun rose. I slept at Momâs the whole day, spent the evening throwing up ⊠and my âfriendsâ never tried to figure out whatâd happened to me, even though Iâd clearly not shown back up where we all lived, never called, nothing. Finally *I* called the person whoâd been driving, thinking maybe something had happened to *them,* and not only did the guy not apologize, and not express any concern, he just said âOh, we though youâd left, shrug,â and then also added âOh yeah, I have your wallet, we needed it to buy more drinks, and you need to come get it, Iâm not responsible for holding onto your shitâ in this haughty tone, as if somehow, in having my wallet stolen by him, I had wronged him. This fellow had crossed some lines before, but that was the last straw for me. Ugh. Maybe thereâs a reason all these years later that I avoid most people. If you have good friends, youâre lucky, because loads of shitheads in the world will betray you over and over without a second thought.
That sucks Iâm sorry that happened đą I hope you are/were able to find some real friends out there. No one should have to go through that! What a wild story to read though, those dudes that helped you sound awesome and might have saved your life
I was in the same situation that minx was in and I wish I had someone like QT worrying about me because it happened twice (both times I was left behind by men who frustratingly donât understand how dangerous that is) and one of the times didnât end well.

hey QT, about how to not feel guilty about asking for what you want (in the Minx situation and others) in a way you kinda can't. this is something that i also struggle with. you kinda just have to trust that it'll be ok. this is actually something that i talk a lot about with my partner and he's told me that i just have to just try and ask for what i want. every time i do, he'll tell me it's ok and hopefully by practicing and doing it more, over time i might gain more confidence that it's ok to ask for what i want/need. you have to practice even though it's really scary and even tho i know nothing about your relationship with lud i would like to think that he would tell you that it's ok and help you practice!
also as a side note i agree entirely and i would never get in an uber/lyft by myself and you were absolutely in the right for doing everything you did for Minx! sending you and Maya all the best! thank you for a great podcast

What Maya describes about falling asleep on a plane and then waking up on wheels touch down has only happened to me once ever and it was hands down the most incredible flight experience of my life! Felt like fast travel IRL

Not gonna lie, as a (gay) man I NEVER leave my girl friends EVER. If I know they would be alone, I don't even ask if they want me there. I'll just stay. If you ask you put the brunt and guilt of the decision onto her, which is a bit iffy to me. She can always tell me to leave when she wants to later, but the first reaction will alwas be that I stay.

Its kind of sad that in two instances of QT being in Vegas that two of her friends could have been r**** and trafficked. Also not like "oh it could happen" but like Maya was drugged and Minx was surrounded by three men who could easily over power her and kidnap her. Legit if QT was less aware I'm fairly sure that would have happened. Podcasts like this are so important because many people would not share their scary moments like this. I think the changes to the podcast might actually be good, I can see how you guys enjoyed the format and dont like the change, but how long the episodes were made me not click on a few of them. Ofcourse the live chat responded negatively, since they are the people that care the most about it being live, but im sure theres a bunch of people that are happy about the change as well
