I'm normally not all for orange and blue mixing, but dion has become a bit of a fan favorite of mine as of late. Even went out and got the botcon version.
the real reason iirc was because Ariel has been made her own character in continuity that does not become Elita, while Erial is still supposed to turn into Elita. So basically there were two characters named Ariel, this change was to make them distinct.

i think for the packaging issue maybe switch to packing stuff in vehicle modes. packing most characters in the vehicle mode could save packaging materials like smaller boxes and inserts, theres some like the dino bots where robot mode might be better but vast majority vehicle packaging would be a space saver. as for distribution in canada its super wonky i can goto local walmarts and evolution (as of april 29th) just wasn't there checking 2 walmarts but gamestop is ahead of the game like the SS gamer, rotb, and evolution is all there
The last nisb transformers I got were Armada way back when, and they were packaged in vehicle mode. The boxes had little wasted space, and that made sense to me as a kid. Imagine my surprise when the first nisb transformer I got since then (Netflix WFC Soundwave) was packed in robot mode. So much empty space.
Already sold out!😭😭 Here's hoping this gets a general wider release later on, or maybe a single figure reissue like the Seekers. UPDATE: I bit the bullet and paid over $100 to an eBay scalper. But at least I got them.
Ariel is a pass for me, I already own 3 versions of the Arcee mold and I don't like it enough to get a fourth (at least not in one solid colour, I WOULD consider an "Uprising Universe Transmutate" however, hint hint, Hasbro) But Dion looks amazing. Hopefully since Hasbro makes Kups pretty regularly, he'll go into the mix as a potential repaint in the future, as well. I don't think I can justify getting a 2-pack for one figure (I've done that with Lightning Collection and the spares always end up going into storage) but I'm excited for the potential future uses of these characters. Hasbro considers them viable trademarks to use, and they're popular enough to sell out quickly--and that's great news! It means we might start getting more of them in future lines.

I had an idea based on Bumblebee being B-147 or whatever. Dion can be D-ION or D-10N and Orion can be OR-ION. Like they are similar product lines. Anyway just thought I would share.

tbh, i thought that your waist joint AND the shoulder piece you have to transform on Dion were going to be so tight that it actually gave the figure stress marks... hmmmmmm. it almost sounds like my Kup figure was to tight in those areas that it scares me whenever i have to use it. yea my kup had that problem.
You got the good Dion. I just opened mine and his limbs are all loose and I have a hinge issue with the bed panels that flip down into his fists. I'm noticing very slight stress marks forming on the hinge prongs.
I agree hasbro distribution is ridiculous. I live in the biggest city in KY and we have never gotten Titans at big box but other smaller cities in our state get them every wave.. same with other waves of figures.
Ugh! Yeah Hasbro's distribution sucks! In the US these apparently sold at SDCC and didn't even appear on Pulse...which is where I thought it was supposed to sell after SDCC so in the end, I had to order this from a dealer up there in Canada. XD
My Snarl is still in waiting. Yes August is when he is due out just like legacy Dirge. Also Hasbro sells the Disney toys so I don't think they have anything to worry about there.
Distribution is so awful that I haven't even seen Wave 1 of SS Rotb, didn't see wave 3 of legacy until April,and Wave 4 of legacy (except Scraphook) here in the US
I like having these characters in my collection, but good lord both of the ones I got have some pretty terrible QC issues. Dion seems to be suffering from serious degradation, as he literally could not keep any of his limbs attached at all before I used copious amounts of kiki on them, and Ariel's torso is floppy as heck due to the transformation joint, to a degree where no amount of kiki seems to make much of a difference. I'm considering just using superglue and turning her into a non-transforming action figure, since I was planning on putting these in a diorama together with Orion Pax and Alpha Trion. Lately whenever I pick up anything mainline it serves as a reminder why I mostly stopped collecting it and switched to third party figures.😢 Makes me miss the Siege days when 70-80 percent of all releases were amazing, to the point where I wondered if the MP scene was just going to be obsolete in a few years due to the engineering advances seen in mainline Transformers. Of course a few years later many of those amazing Siege figures were yellowing pretty badly, but we didn't know that at the time.
That 2 pack is seriously overpiced for what it is. Both I think are still on Amazon US. The distro model seems to skew towards fulfilling online retail first and then physical stores at least IMOE. Further out here in the less populated areas there is more floot inventory stock at the local Walmarts

My Dion could barely keep one of his arms on, and in vehicle mode it seemed they're MEANT to pop off, and just hold on to pegs underneath with the fists, effectively just storage. The swivel bits in the shoulders were VERY stiff, I had to carefully lever them out with a screwdriver Yours seems to have slightly more blue paint; some areas are blue on yours where mine is unpainted orange. Maybe they fixed stuff through the run. Anyway he looks good but I don’t think I'll want to repose him very often. Maybe not really worth the $75 Australian that I paid for the pair.
i hope they can unfuck the distribution on these two, they’re much more appealing to me than the orion pax set. but also, gamestop canada is trying to claim the msrp is 100cad, not for two deluxes it fucking isnt

They replied saying they don't know where he's for sale either........lmao So yes Hasbro makes zero sense, they did tell me they were in a reorganization. After a some searching I found out they don't sell a lot in the Benelux hence the reorganization. But yea not weird HASBRO doesn't sell.....if the most loyal customers can't find your product and you won't help them even after contact lmao.
For the record, this war dawn 2-pack is a SDCC exclusive. San Diego Comic Con is occurring July 19th. That is why there has been no pre-order anywhere. Game Stop screwed up big-time selling this at all. Game Stop is now out of business, right? Hasbro Pulse will have first right selling it as a preorder. Paid members get first chance in the first hour of release and then 2nd hour+ is available for preorder CTO the public. This 2-pack might not even make it to public preorder becuz it should probably sellout quick. I ain’t paying an xtra 50 bucks membership to get this, so I’m crossing my fingers it’s still available for the public.

The distribution of figures has been very ass in recent times. Cosmos never came to my stores and they're just barely stocking up studio series stuff
