The folks at Line 6 have just released their incredible Firmware 3.70 update and the addition of the new Brit 2203 amp is set to be a favorite new addition! This is a model based off the incredible Marshall JCM 800 Model 2203 and Line 6 truly nailed it. In the video I take you through the features and get a cool single snapshot preset dialed in. You do three things that set you far & away above every other YT poster:
1. We all know you're a monster player but you don't use these videos as a platform to show off your chops. The few times that you do, I wear out the "J" button on my keyboard :o)
2. You volume level your voice with the guitar output (nothing worse than raising the lvl so I can hear what someone is saying only to have the music blare so loud that it wakes the wifey up (not cool)!
3. You explain everything in simple terms that take away the intimidation factor from the products, some of which can be quite daunting.

I'm amazed, LIne6 keeps adding great stuff with every release. One comment about your demos at the end, it would be nice if as you switched snapshots you showed us which was being highlighted in each section of the song. Otherwise, great job and looking forward to more Dialing In videos.
They really do! Much more to come :-) On the actual demo video on the Marketplace product page, for the vast majority, after the song playthrough I solo most tracks from the mix so folks can hear the tones out of the mix also :-)
As the great philosopher Homer Simpson would say, DOH! I forgot about the Marketplace demos as I am usually sold by the end of your demo on the Dialing In video. You also sometimes do full demos in the CZcams videos where you have the same thing. Thanks for reminding me.

So happy they did this. One of my favorite marshall sounds in the helix now. Filled the void. A/B'd the HX 2203 with some NAM captures pretty good!
Everything I'm hearing of this amp model sounds killer. Gotta spend some time with it soon. And the tune at the end was a JAM! I'm always a sucker for some good grooves in 5.

With the new 2203, push the master to around 6.5, pre- amp gain to around 4.5, with a boss SD 1 (stupor od) level maxed, tone around 6.5, and gain to 1.9 (to compensate for lower preamp gain) any Marshall V30 sm57 i.r/cab with appropriate high/ low cuts... instant warm power amp 80s / Evh/ stringy, woody barky Marshall tone. Reverb and delay to taste. Thank me later

@@Stophocles What the Marshall tone is i.m.o...power amp gain. Much warmer and organic than preamp gain. Now for my Dual Rectifier, the opposite is true lol keep my master no higher than 3 or it flubs out. True for most of my modern metal tones. Stank face away my friend 🙏 Glad you like

I might be mistaken, but wasn’t there a 2203 amp available before this update? And a modded one? I am excited to hear the differences if that is the case.
Before this update we had the 2204 and 2204 Mod. This is the first time we ha e had a 2203 :-)

Maybe a dumb question: can you assign switching from the low to high input to a foot switch?
I can see this being done as a controller assign or via snapshot

Does it hair metal with an 808 in the front end?
This model is pretty much a stock JCM800 100 watt. You'll probably get pretty close to hair metal with an 808, but a lot of those guys modded their amps to add another gain stage. You might need a more aggressive OD.
