- UK powerhouse Paddy Graham talks us through his top tips for kicker building in the backcountry. Follow the series to get the know-how from top freeriders as they share their tips and tricks for a fun and safe session in the mountains.
Paddy ‘Reggie’ Graham first skied after persuading his parents to send him to the USA on a school skiing trip where he discovered a real love for the sport. By age 14, Paddy picked up sponsorship and before turning 16, he was able to leave school to concentrate on his skiing career. Paddy is now the UK’s number one freeskier, and his achievements include winning titles at the Battle of Britain London Freeze (2009, 2010 and 2012), Red Bull Playstreets and Red Bull Tribal Quest. Since 2009 he has been one of the masterminds behind the Legs of Steel crew; the freeski film-makers who brought us 2015's multi-award-winning Passenger.

Next can you do a tutorial for how to build a jump with 2 inches of snow?
I been did that use a tree log that’s cut up lay it down so it’s round then shovel lots and lots and lots of snow in that one area throw it on top and pack it down that’s the only solution the less snow there is on the ground the more snow you will need for the drop in run up ramp and the landing spot and the run way after the landing spot takes times and effort like he said
Just seeing the title made me soooooo unbelievably HAPPY !!!!
Thanks for the tips! I will definetly be using these tips myself!
ELE Creations you have some nice vids!
Same
Me too
ur videos are amazing you should post more
Built one today. A guy sent a backflip and worked. I was proud of my work
I built a massive one in my backyard.
I waited for a video like this 😂 because you can learn so much from pros
One thing to add is to be aware of the terrain above and below your jump b/c it can and will slide on you if the backcountry conditions are unstable. Check your slope angles and know the avalanche problems before you send it!
This was a really well done video, thanks
Cant wait to try making one for myself
Can’t wait to build myself one of these
I love this I built a little side hit with a decent drop in with about a foot of snow in my yard so fun!!
So you just gotta put down blocks, like in Minecraft?
yes😂😂😂HaHahA
For good results i would use coblestone
@@mikehoncho2640 obsidian
to make it harder
instablaster...
thanks for the tip, gonna try it on a closed slope later and full send it
In needed this video
That was very important for me
thanks for the help🤔
Why do i always watch these on weekdays at 1am
sick
i've heard that some people use salt to like hardend it up, is that right?
What shovel do you use
what shovel do you use i need one
If only there was snow in my country
where are they?
Better yet go look for natural wind ridges that do most of the work for you. There's usually one around that will serve up a nice take off. Just be careful to follow Paddy's advice on knowing your landing. And by that I mean, don't arrive in resort and on your first day go build a kicker and start launching it. You really need to know what's under that layer of pow as well..... Look before you leap :-)
how would you built a jump without compacted snow? For example the first #powderday with 1.50 meters of new snow.
Nike Like just pile it up and pack it down every now and then
@@sageenraged8879 but I can never build it to a sirius height? anything on that?
Nike Like I’ve built a 5 foot high jump with only fresh powder but I don’t know about anything as big as in the video
Sagefou171 5 foot sounds high enough!😂
remove the fresh on top and use the old, compact layers underneath. There are some rare days though, on which there is no compact snow. Then you'll have to work extra hard and compact it by slamming with the shovel or stepping onto it
4th comment, I think. It's what CZcams says.
witch shovel was used in the video?
i need one
a normal avalanche shovel will do, preferably made from aluminium for longevity and durability 👊
@@RedBullSnow thanks!
God!
Whats up...

Please though especially right now DO NOT go into the backcountry if you don’t know what you’re doing it’s super dangerous out there
