I like the taurus station wagon!! Imagine how good it would look if it was garage kept the whole time!! Stay safe! 🤘🤘
My moms first and ONLY brand new car that she bought was a 99 red Ford Taurus wagon. Looked exactly like yours. This was the car that brought me home when I flew back from Russia after being adopted in 04. So this brings me such nostalgia.
The turn signal is a flasher relay, and the radio is probably a fuse.
It could be the RCU (Radio control unit) located behind the LR wheel
@@antoniojmonetti yeah the radios in the Taurus'/Sables were on 2 parts. The dash unit is the control panel and the Radio brains which is located in the rear of the car is the RCU. This is why the aftermarket radio harnesses are so long and expensive.
Lincoln price 1500 to 3500 paint good
Station Wagons may become cool again in a few years when (if) everyone thinks SUVs are uncool
Wagons have always been cool.
The Taurus looks great post-Maaco! Never knew these had the jump seats since they were technically midsizers vs the full size wagons from GM.
Was hoping IAA was going to be a go-to for you but they are playing the same games as Copart with the title. Maybe send them a letter with an attorney's name on it and that may speed things up?
I love these old Taurus and Sables. Have owned several. Currently driving a 2001 Sable, manufactured August of 2000. Officially 20 years old now! I've done some body work to it and have had the usual repairs, but never too expensive. I'd trust it to drive cross-country. Everything works, even the original AC. Cheap to fix, cheap to maintain, cheap to insure, very decent fuel economy, and you don't get paranoid about parking it anywhere or worrying if it's going to get stolen, etc etc.
Damn Randy how old is this video... The Chevy wasn't even painted yet lol
For real, that truck has been painted, picked up from paint, taken to weird beard, and sold over a week ago......
@@DrJak1ll Many youtubers make several videos back to back and upload them out of sequence.
😆😆😆
The saying you can’t polish a turd.
You just proved them wrong
Nice one Randy
If I’m not mistaken, to open the rear window, put the key in and turn it to the right or left and the window should pop open
Another great video. I have so much respect for what Randy is doing. He is creating his own situation and his own success. He is living proof that there is opportunity out there if one is willing to get out there and make and effort. Randy is what America is all about. or should I say, . . . .what America should be all about.
Also; I noticed next to Dickies BBQ was a huge Goodwill. Randy should make some videos of buying junk at Goodwill and selling it on EBAY. I think this would be great video content and very entertaining. Just a suggestion.
6:11 Oh nice a Mitsubishi Galant E50 (the Blue one with the spoiler)! These are very rare but quiet cool! Underrated reliable Japanese sedan
Get some sandbags to hold down the dash while the epoxy cures.
The wagon needs a V8 SHO swap that would be epic
Keep it original please actually.
I wasn't impressed with IAA. Their scheduling to view cars was just unreasonable.
The only thing I was impressed by IAA was when I left the business they refunded me my $200 annual fee.
And I wish I could get my 1970 Dodge Dart Swinger to that Maaco there ain't nobody around here where I we live will touch your car for less than like $2,500
And that's ridiculous...imo
mopar fan Because the cost of paint and materials has gone way up. I'm having my 95 Impala SS painted at my friend's shop. $3500 and the body is perfect. The paint is just faded.
price at $2600 take $2300... paint job and miles should sell it easy
das bout right
i remembered there was kids using the rear facing seats in a car i was behind of.. talk about sweating bullets
To open the trunk window you push the keyhole. The keyhole also acts as a button.
Yes, the rear hatch window does open. Push that button that has the keyhole in it. If you want to open the whole hatch, pull on that recessed handle just above the license plate behind that plastic
Love the tail lights on that car. The front looks like a fish.
These things were cheap at the auctions here. One came up with like 30K on it. And no floors, lol, it sat somewhere wet a very long time. I think it sold for $300.
Glass hatch you either need the keyfob or turn the hatch key and push in the button the key hole is built into.
Hey Randy, the Taurus looks awesome with new paint. Sorry to hear about the title. Have a great day and stay safe.
can't beat a dog for cheering you up when you feel fed up huh randy?
Great job on the Taurus - hopefully IAA will do the decent thing and get that title sorted out.
If you look at your gas gauge there's a little computer pointing left or right next to the gas pump that's what side you're gas cap is on all the newer cars have that
Love the auto auction repaints channel!
Run the Vin number and see if the previous owner will file for lost title for ya. .
I love this paint. Neatly done as if the Taurus looks brand new. Beautiful easily will fetch 2.5k there are Taurus lovers
Turn signal check bulb. Radio take the radio out and check if power going to radio, or if wire has came out from back.
I had a 1997 Ford Taurus GL Sedan. It was a love hate relationship but in the end, I lost it to a transmission issue. Beware though, if this transmission needs work, don’t swap them. Just have it rebuilt.
Great looking car. I don't know what the laws are in Oklahoma, but here in N.J. 25 years or older could be registered as a historic car. This car would have one year to go. It would be something you don't see at classic car shows often if at all.
To pop the back window on the Taurus wagon you push the key lock on the back hatch in while its unlocked :)
The back to black lasts maybe 3 days...try either black shoe polish or the black magic tire shine both of those work amazing
Lol I have the 2002 mercury sable hachback with only 45k miles 0 rust and garage its hole life . I bought it today I could not resist. I was at a gas station and a complete stranger walked up too me and said she was a beauty of a car and well kept I never ever had anyone do that in my life of owning a car
Pete Jr. Has def. Adopted you. Looks like he only goes back to his house to eat. Lol🐕
A smart person who is down on their luck will buy that car. My mom had a Taurus of that era what great cars they were.
You look beat down, Randy, and I can only hope you don't throw in the towel. I always look forward to a new video from you. 🍻 The Taurus looks amazing!
I just bought a 01 sienna as well! Straight from Toyota dealership. Technician owned it. Wanna talk about nice. Cold air. Timing belt just done. As know these things run forever. I got 185k on mine.
This must be a pretty old video but I guess the real question is, did you like Dicky’s BBQ or not? They have some awesome food! I’d say Austin had good taste lol!
Austin does look like he would know good food.
We have an earlier 90s ranger, radio does the same thing. It powers on, but puts nothing out to the speakers. Sometimes it will randomly start working.
I bought a donation car from IAA, and found out that the title was flawed. Going on a year now with them claiming that they are getting a "bonded title" but of course that's BS. It's now attorney time.
Randy, in the beginning of the video, you asked if it would be worth it to have the Ford Taurus painted... You bet your ass it's damn worth it! You are very good at making used cars look great, run decently and don't forget (for your viewers) that these cars may seem boring to many but there is always someone out there who needs a budget vehicle or just started up a family and don't want to buy brand new or newer used and simply want something more affordable. Randy mah man, keep on doing what you do best!
I work at the auction and see these Taurus's go through the lane for less than $800 for a good running car regularly. None of the dealers in my area will touch these cars not sure why.
That's a nice looking car, a really decent unit for someone on a budget, when the indicators are fixed obviously!
Turn signal switch issues are apparently common in 3rd gens my 97 sho has the same problem sometimes they work sometimes they dont
Sold a '99 taurus sedan a few years ago that I bought at auction. It had some peeling clear on the trunk and rear bumper too. only problem with it was a clogged heater core. Blew it out, changed the coolant, drove it around for a few weeks, and I made a quick $1,000. I love those old Tauruses (Taurusi?), they sell cheap at auction, and lots of parents buy them for their kids first car.
You could use that epoxy and a heavy old phone book if you got one that should hold it down
Randy you can get 3500 for it if you fix the other small things. Plenty of families that need a good family car. Those are very good cars. My best friend had one that was a 98 model. Kept it for over 6 years. Trouble free and sold it with 226000 miles on it. Not sure if the transmission is good but rest is just fine
Hi Randy, more Pete please. Like the video, paint looks great. See if you can get them to let you video them doing the next paint job you have to do ??
hope things get better for ya looks great my grandpa always purchased one new every 10 years . really great cars. aarhq is looking great progress on the business randy .
Use the key to open the back glass ! Radio check for two fuses !
When the Silverado paint vid is up before this
reminds me of my grandpas car lmao
Same
Jajajajaj, always old cars
My grandmas Taurus is gonna look like that in a few years. The front clip started fading real quick.
25000 all day long another great video randy see u in the next one
Thanks 👍
Randy, I am known for this saying- "Sh@tboxes make the world go around!"
I have a 20018 Hyundai Sonata Sport & I’ve gone through 2 carpeted driver’s floor mats with holes just like that. In my case, the sound deadening/padding they used for the carpet is so thick that my heel creates a divot that wears a hole in the floor mat.
Man I'd ask for 3, then take 2.5 at the lowest.
Hopefully you end up getting the title. Everyone makes mistakes and can get caught by surprise but you really went to far too quickly. I wouldn't bother doing any work to a car that I purchased until I had the title in hand. If they offer you a refund you're going to be sitting there with a $600 Maaco paint job that you'll never see the money for. Hope everything works out.
Pete sure is a good pup .doing his job
I have taken cars to Macco and Earl Scibe when they used to be in Business I was always told that if you, the owner , prep the car I.E. remove moldings trim Bumpers ETC. it makes the job less expensive I had a 66 Chevelle painted by Earl Schibe and that is what I did, I actually have another 66 and I am thinking of taking it to MACCO as well, they don't do a bad job and I don't have 7 grand to have a car painted .And also what makes it cheap is the fact there was body work involved, not even any rust abatement
I would say 2500. I hope you get a good title. It’s a nice Taurus i had two.
These cars drove pretty good for their time
The back jump seats are good for flipping other cars off lol. I think the gas tank lid is the side where the arrow is pointing on the gas gauge.
IAA need to step it up!
holy, the taurus looks simply beautiful
Make Ford Taurus great again 💯Salute Randy 😃🙌👊
Cruise control. I had some Ford products where I kept working the buttons and knocked the crud off the connectors. Working cruise control again.
I know this is two years too late. You should have a space saver spare to the left in the back. I see a full size where the kids feet go. Open that compartment and I bet the jack and other tools are loose inside from when they had a flat. With the third row seat no full size spare should have been right there. (I drive a 2000 Taurus Wagon and that is how I know.)
Lots of people don't know this .... the gas gauge in every car will have a arrow on it that shows which side the filler is on.
Not true. This car does not have the arrow. I looked when getting gas.
@@AutoAuctionRebuilds I just googled. Apparently the little arrow next to the gas pump icon became widespread only 10 years ago. Sorry !
That paint job looks great, it even looks better than the Goonzquad paint job they didn't need to wet sand it & buff it
Push the key hole button to open the rear screen Randy.
Pete Jr was biting and licking the BBQ ribs sauce you still had sticking to your fingers. ;)
Love your videos my friend, I watch them while relaxing in the evening! Keep them coming Randy. 👍
I guess the Tarus will sell for 2200 .00 . How was Dickeys bbq ?,,, I remember when they had one store in Dallas , of course this 1966 lol....Keep up the good work , all ways enjoy watching your journey ...
Ford sold a lot of those 👍🏻
Tbh I forgot you even had the Ford taurus 🤣
hell yeah bro she looks awesome you should be able to list it for 3g take anything 22 and up
I had a 99 Taurus. Order a new turn signal switch. They are cheap and easy to replace. I had the same thing happen.
I'd love to find an 86 Taurus LX Station Wagon in medium canyon red and restore it. The Gen 1 Taurus and Sables are hard to find today now sadly.
Man ..... I admire the love you share... even with the little puppy..... .... God Bess you Randy ...
to open the rear glass Push keyhole on the rear hatch
I have a 2000 ford explorer with a tailgate with glass that opens separately. it looks identical to that on the taurus . none of the lock actuators work, so i dont know how that effects it. the key however, turns one way to unlock the window and hatch. the other way locks both. once unlocked, push the lock cylinder in as a button to open the glass. if unlocked, the key is not needed for the window to open. presumably, if the whole car is unlocked with automatic locks, just push the button.
also... PETE :-)
I miss going backwards in those rear facing seats. I'm way too tall to fit in them now!
Any number of products available to restore that black trim. Since it’s so prominently visible, I would concentrate on that luggage rack. That beautiful red paint not withstanding, when somebody walks up to it, their eyes immediately go to that chalky black uv damaged luggage rack. Really torpedoes the impact of the new paint. The black surround on the windows is kind of in their face too. I have in the past used a soft brush and high pressure wand to get the windshield wipers, and all that black plastic where the intake vents for the cabin air are just as clean as I possibly could get them, masked off the windshield, support pillars, and closest couple of feet of hood and fenders and found some rattle-can flat or semi-gloss black especially formulated for plastic adhesion that even had uv blocker in
it. I flipped the wiper arms up and was going to hit the underside first, (because that’s just the kind of person I am ..), but because I saw a little rust under there, I happened to already have a can of that gray primer that has the rust converter in it, so I gave them a couple of dustings of that- just the undersides, let it dry for exactly the amount of time it takes to come in, sit down, cool off, and drink a beer, and went back, put the wipers down, and hit it with the black paint. It’s one of those details that is so subtle you might not be aware of exactly what is different, but it really contributes strongly to the overall sense of old-and-beat-up looking as opposed to, well, - not “new”, but at least not old-and-beat-up looking. But wow ... it was so worth it .. really freshened up the appearance. What a neat little car! Fold that back seat down and you’ve almost got a little pickup ... except it’s out of the weather, and you can lock it up!
KBB Private Party value for my area says $781-1,852, average $1,317. I wish you luck making any money on this thing.
If it was a GM you would still be in the driveway trying to start it!!!
With a working radio, cruise control and those low miles 3k. I may be in the minority, but I really like that generation of Taurus from a design perspective.
Ran out of indicator fluid?
I think he ran out of Blinker Fluid while hes in there he might as well add some muffler Bearing to that car.
F.o.r.d ( Fix On Or Repair Daily) love that 🐕 thou
I'm dealing with titling issues in NJ too..... I bought a car at a dealer during the Pandemic shut down cause my wife's engine blew. Someone tboned her and totaled it but I still don't have the title cause the NJ DMV is taking their sweet ass time processing titles. It's been overt a month now and the insurance company won't pay me till I have a title in my name. Copart has my car.... and I'm stuck waiting..... if you're interested I have videos on my channel about it. So pissed.....
That car in minnesota would bring 2995 to 3495 all day long low mile clean car
The issue you where having makes me wonder if the alternator is having issues
Look at the gas gauge the arrow tells you which side the fill is on
Taurus doesn't have an arrow.
It literally says "Fuel door >" 😂
@@AutoAuctionRebuilds You not need even arrow, just which side the needle is in cluster.
Looks completely different from the before 😊
Randy, the DMV is an awful place to deal with right now, it may not all be the auctions fault. I actually had to file a complaint with the DMV of virginia against a branch and manager for refusing my service on titling a car i picked up from copart. I had all the proper paperwork and they refused to double check with Richmond or service me. The appointment I held is the only available in the state of virginia til October. Needless to say, im annoyed.
For sure Randy. $2500 should be a sinch to get for it looking that nice and with that mileage
The Taurus wagon looks great!! And Dicky’s BBQ is the bomb!! I love that place!!
I luv those Taurus wagon I had one and sold it but I wish I kept it I would luv to have that one and $600 is good for a paint job
I would be funny to put sho rims on it and front seats in it even just the the SHO rims if you can find a set from a salvage place
