    I've just started my first camper build looking at placing a carrier under van for spare u will have to put a update on after few months driving around to let us know if it buckled or door dropped.

      It’s been on 2 months now and nothing yet, I’m sure it will over time it has to but I like the thought of not laying on the floor in the rain when I need it 😂

      @@simplycampervanconversions Thank you for your video. Is the wheel still there? 😀 I was thinking to buy the same product. However, I have few doubt about the wheel weight. Can you give us an update, please :) 🙏

    Cracking mate. Is there any security feature to stop someone just unscrewing and taking it.

    • @simplycampervanconversions

      Not with it but a simple locking nut would be the easiest answer, which I’ll do myself now you’ve brought that to my attention 😂

  • @jjs_adventureswithcharlie

    just looking at fitting similar to my van . Now yours has been on a year have you had any issues with the panel or with the hinges cracking at all. Blown my budget so cant afford a fancy hinge mounted one lol

    Im looking at the same thing for my jumbo. The new wheel carrier i fitted underneath just allows the wheel to bang around and i can never get it tight enough. How does the rear door cope with the weight though ???

    • @simplycampervanconversions
      @simplycampervanconversions  Před 3 lety

      The door seems fine at the minute. Only time will tell with the weight as I suppose it could sag with the extra weight but as yet it’s great.

    Hi, How far does the door open now? I have a 2010 Mk7 but have rear window so would have to mount it lower. I have not been able to find anything for sale, so this one look quite good if the door still swings open, Cheers, Steve

    • @simplycampervanconversions
      @simplycampervanconversions  Před 2 lety

      The door still opens 180 degrees however won’t open flat against the side of the van anymore.
      But many vans don’t even have that feature so it doesn’t really bother me.

    I'm just about to do it on my MK7 Transit. I'm a bit concerned that the panel will distort under the weight. Any problems with yours?

      @@simplycampervanconversions Have now fitted it and realised because the rubber of the wheel is pulled up against the panel it braces the panel making it strong.

    Hi, could this be done with a transit connect?

    • @simplycampervanconversions
      @simplycampervanconversions  Před 2 lety +1

      You would have to check the stud pattern to make sure it would fit on this particular wheel carrier.
      I’m unsure if they’re the same as a normal transit.

      Hi, thanks for your reply, I didn't really think about that, thanks. There are a few carriers I have seen which the wheel fits just on the centre spindle. Looks like I've got some homework to do. Stay safe 🤔
