Buckin inspired me so much I decided to split some oak down here in Georgia. When I came in wife said cable TV is out, I sent that 8 pound splitting maul right through the wood into the ground and cut the shallow buried cable. No wifi or TV most of the weekend, so it was Buckin, Bellhopper, and Ironworks on smartphone rest of weekend.

Salute from Connecticut Buckin!!!! Not sure if you're even going to see this comment but about three months ago I saw your story about how you became sober and it inspired me so much that I actually have 2 months and 23 days clean off of opiates. I have a little one and like you said in your last night's live stream the kids need you! At that point I did start to tear up knowing that I made the best decision of my life and I have you to thank for that because it was because of that video I was able to reach out for help. So if you do get to see this comment thank you Buckin. And just so you know I'm an excavation Foreman down here in the lower 48 and have a couple Husqvarna saws myself but would love to get my hands on a McCulloch! Nothing like a good old Mac right!? Blessings to you and your family my friend!

I'm running a little electric Stihl for cutting firewood over at my Mums place, and there's nothing elderly or incapable about me, it's just that we're in London and the neighbours are very close so noise is a factor - another benefit as long as you don't need big cutting power.

I only found this channel last night at the start of my shift, and I almost instantly subscribed. These videos feel like home, in a weird sort of way. I have many memories of splitting wood in my younger years, but haven't had the pleasure of an axe in my hands again until very recently. Hey Billy Ray, that fuel-injected saw is really sweet, though too big for me to handle. I have a bum shoulder but can still do a lot of things, just have to scale back. I tried a battery saw for a little while, must have had a lemon, because I had all kinds of problems with it. Maybe I need to buy a better model, just bite the bullet and pay for it. That wood you were splitting has the straightest grain I've ever seen. What a pleasure it must be to work through a pile of that. I have mostly Ash here in PA and it's usually pretty straight, but not as nice as Brian's tree. Thanks for sharing your experience and keep up the good work.

  • @erlendgreulichfrontierbigw218

Buckin - love your channel. I work trees in different states in the US and also Europe. Here is a scenario you might find interesting. In Colorado we often have fire restrictions- meaning that during high fire danger you are restricted to certain times in the day using your gas powered chainsaws. For instance you maybe allowed to use them from 9 am to 12! Thats it...for weeks or months on end. So very quickly we started using professional top handle power saws to stay productive - I use the Husky 540i XP - which. currently is the fastest, most powerful and capable of all of them. I encourage you to pick a good sized fir - ok - and run it against your Stihl 200! You will be surprised. A hard review by you would be great...not on the ground...in the tree. It is a truly legit and only option in areas where fire restrictions occur regularly - especially on moded muffler power saws! All the best to you!

That hard hat looks like a traditional brain bucket that they used in the steel mills.
      Very similar, maybe same.
When the mills would change shifts (3- 8hr shifts per day) i would see hundreds of guys trudging out slowly from work with hard hats just like that.
I like the yellow and green ones with the brim that goes all the way around. Falling branches can come down at any angle... 👷
