Toilet Tissue Paper Food Sculptures (3D Art Making Lesson)

My 7th graders did a great job with this. Can't wait to display them at our Fine Arts Show in December. I brushed on a quick layer of clear varnish to add some polish to them. Thanks for the video lesson!

Another way to dry it if you are in a hurry is by putting it in the oven - i use such toilet paper sculptures as a base for polymer clay as not to waste so much product and baking it for some time dries it perfectly. Just recently i decided to try and make a sculpture out of paper only and then cover it with napkins or another paper to make the surface even smoother, so if someone has any ideas I'd be thankful.

After it's dry would it be possible to put a dowel through the burger patty? I need a burger on a stick for theater prop, but wasn't sure just how "hard" it is when it dries. Thanks.

It dries medium hard, like a dried out biscuit/bread. If you put the dowel through when wet, I think that would work! Paint it after it’s dried with a hole through it.

If it starts to collapse I’d let it dry between layers. Also, draping or propping the TP food on a hard surface while painting could help! Good luck!

Look for a red spice you could mix with water, or a washable marker you could put in water to make a liquid watercolor. Food coloring would be great too!
