I am wanting one of these and was trying to imagine a way to roll it down to the water by myself. I am SO glad I watched this. Your idea is so simple and so perfect. Thanks!
My Dad bought us a similar boat when i was 13! He drove me all over and would drop me at a farm pond and come pick me up hrs later. Great memories. Your videos are great to watch!
Great video my brotha!! I just literally purchased this boat in the 17th of this month and cant wait to get it out! Have not had time to register the boat yet but super excited to get it out!!! Thanks for this video man because i was actually looking for some sort of direction to take as far as the setup is concern! My thoughts and habits are systematic as well although i never did a day in the military (THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE) but i was raised by parents who were the "no nonsense" type. I think you and CAM would be an excellent team!! I have purchased tons of crappie gear from CAM!! I actually look on his sight before i go to cabela's or bass pro shop!! Just bought a sundolphin 10 sportsman which is the exact same thing. You have a couple good ideas I'm gonna use, especially the board and wheels since I will do most of the fishing by myself. Thanks buddy, and may the fishing be hot for you
Crappie Master you have an awesome set up on that boat. I've got a Pelican 10E that I've tweaked out with a table in the middle and some other luxuries. I got some of my tips from watching Fish With Vance and a few others. I love watching you and Cam both and you do a great job passing along tips for the rest of us. I'll try to send you a picture of it. Keep the videos coming though. You're doing a great job and Thank You for your service.
Those are great little boats I had one back in the late 90's and literally fish it till it fell apart, mine was unsinkable. I did not have mine tricked out quite as nice has that one but it got the job done and you can fish some pretty skinny water in them.
Cool mods. I have a jonny bass boat 100 with the 2.5 Suzuki outboard. Love having the gas motor and trolling motor. Always can get back home. Love seeing different mods..Be safe bro
Thanks for the video of the boat setup. Very nice setup. I have a Pelican 10E and debating on which type of outboard motor to get. I fish mostly trolling only places but want to expand my areas this year. I understand the methodical thinking process, I'm the same being retired Air Force. Can't wait to see the fishing video for that day.
George Faulk I got a great deal on this one. Some guy said he purchased two by mistake. I paid $475, retails for at least $750. I hear Suzuki is a bit lighter. I also saw a few on eBay for a little cheaper but not a brand I have heard of
Wow, you did get a great deal. I've been looking on eBay also. Don't really want to go with one of the cheap 2-strokes. But, then again, that's a cheap way to try one out on the boat. Thanks for the info.
Good evening and I hope all is well. I have watched several of your videos and I have enjoyed watching them all. I have purchased a Pelican Bass Raider 10.2 E. I would love to meet you at some point. I am currently living in Stafford and hoping to hit the water very soon.

Good video again Master. It's interesting that all the vids showing their boats(like this type), no one shows either entering or exiting the boat. Great video. My wife and I are trying to make up our minds between a Sun Dolphin Sportsman 10 or the Bass Pro Pond Prowler. We like the idea of being able to haul it in our truck and I really like the idea of the two-wheel dolly. I really enjoyed all of the mods and upgrades that you did and you gave me a lot of ideas. Thanks you very much and I'll subscribe as soon as I finish typing this comment. Tight lines.
Very nice setup. Thank you for explaining the detail. Seems like it takes some time to put things together. You do it every time like this? a well-trained army guy!
Jeff Z thanks and thanks for watching and commenting. For the most part I do it the same way every time. If I had a good place to park it I would purchase a trailer.
Crappie Master excellent video guy I like your boat setup that outboard is just like mines I have a 3.5 2013 4 stroke on a 10ft Tracker Jon I also got a trailer for it from Harbor freight as a kit
I had one for 4 weeks. Had a 55# minnkota on it. I could cautiously stand and with motor going just lean a little to turn. I returned it tho. Had the 8’ one. I’m 6’3 400# and it wasn’t stable enough for me to turn and stand. Put outriggers on my canoe and the minnkota and am happy. Also bought an old skit boat and trailer with the $500 I had from returning the pond boat. May try again if I ever get down to 250lbs
Thanks for watching and commenting. Understand. I had an 8’ bass raider and wanted something bigger and more stable. I like the Pond Prowler design but the material on the bass raider was better.
Just got one for free that someone threw out at the dump. Looked like his kid went to town using the claws on the hammer to the hull. So i graduated CZcams University and learned how to plastic weld and fixed it in less than a day. Love the spider rig setup, itll be perfect for catfishing. Im an army vet as well, so i understand being meticulous in everything we do.
What length rods are those? I have an original 10 foot Bass Pro Pond Prowler that I'm setting up for spider rigging. Love this boat! Been beating myself up on what size poles that I want to use. I'm going to rig it for front and back so my son and I can fish off both ends.
wow nice little rig you fellas in the states are lucky your allowed more than 1 rod in the water per person, here in Canada you would get fined if caught doing that!
Taking notes because I picked up a Bass Hunter (8ft) that I'm going to using this year. Curious to know where you put the transducer (Fish locator)? Thanks for the video
Really enjoyed the video! I am planning on getting this once spring gets a little closer. I am curious how you like this as far as space, stability and fishing two people out of it? Here's to tight lines!
Thanks for watching and commenting. It is a little tight to be honest but I think people who buy these understand that but also understand this boat will allow you to get into places bigger boats will not. Tight lines.
Awesome video and awesome setup! My buddy and I just found an Angler 10, basically the exact boat and I’m wanting to use your dolly idea. You mentioned it was a 2x6 board. Did you cut it to 4.5 ft long? What size caster wheels would you recommend?
Thanks for the response. I don’t remember how it measured out exactly but I just added 6” to each side plus the width of the boat. I believe those wheels were the 8 or 10” version
willie may thanks for watching and commenting. When I only take my trolling motor out I always take two batteries. That twin troller looks sweet. I couldn’t absorb the price but would have loved to get one.
Couple q’s. 1. How well does the 2;hp move the boat around? Had one on my Hobie ProAngler Kayak and could only go about 5mph. 2. Does the spider rig thing hold up if you catch a good size fish on it? That’s a lot of torque at the base of them. Awesome ideas
Hey man nice setup! I have a question for ya how fast does that motor go at full throttle? I’m looking into getting one for my Sun Dolphin Sportsman 10.
Can I use this boat or similar like a Pelican Bass Raider in a lake not a pond. I am guessing there should not be a problem. What about using a 4hp outboard or is it too much for the boat?
Been fishing out of kayaks for a few years now but been looking at getting a 2 man boat that I could stretch my legs a little more in and also haul a second person and one of these boats seems great. My only question is how well does the trolling motor push it in wind? Say I’m a good distance from the launch and the wind picks up, Will the trolling motor push it good enough to get me back?
Thanks for commenting. I hate to give this answer but it depends. The issue is often with the battery. I got tired of fighting it and purchased an outboard. See one of my other videos on the boat. With that said if I did it again I would get a 3.5hps
Crappie Master TV thanks for the quick replies! That’s what I was thinking. Most of the places I’d fish I would probably be fine to get back to the launch but I was also hoping to also use it as a mode of transporting myself and my decoys during duck season. Currently I’ll paddle up to 2 miles in the marsh to get to my spot (then 2 miles back) and we’ve even used a canoe with a trolling motor and it did great making that trip (just not very stable). Figure as long as I monitor the battery charge or possibly bring a second battery one of these boats with a 55# thrust TM should do the job too.
Where would you say your prop is located in relation to the bottom of your boat? I have the Sportsman 10 which is basically a rebranded Pond Prowler and went with a 15” shaft Honda outboard but the prop sits about flush with the bottom of the boat. I read somewhere it should be 2” below the bottom. Any idea?
@@crappiemastertv3847 Wonder why my research has the 15” shaft as the one to pair with this boat...at least according to folks who own the same or similar boat. Wish I had gone 20”. If it was a bit long, at least I could put a spacer to raise it a bit. As is, there’s no way to lower the prop.😥
I'm not sure how much your outboard weighs but I got a 4 stroke 4hp outboard designed from a weed eater motor. You can buy them pre-made for around $300. It's around 20lb so super light for loading off and on. Pushes my two man boat pretty nicely.
Do you think it's possible to transport via a roof rack? I'm in the city with limited space and no garage. I'm just not sure how easy/possible it would be to put this on my roof rack.
Marco Roman well I guess it depends on what type car. It’s just over 100 lbs so your problem will be getting it up there. Funny what we fisherman do to fish🤣🤣🤣. Tight lines
@@crappiemastertv3847 Yeah, for sure. I haul an 80 pound kayak right now and my rack is rated up to 160 pounds, but I think the Bass Prowler II weights 132 pounds.
I keep bouncing back and forth between this boat pontoon and a 10' Jon boat. Whichever I get, I'm going to put a 3.5 motor on it. The Merc is the same weight as the 2.5 you have.
I wish I would have purchased the 3.5hps. Looking for one now. I can’t speak on the Jon boat but would assume if you’re concerned with weight the Jon boat might be a concern
The Jon boat and the pontoon are roughly the same weight. The differences are how much you can put on each boat, materials they are made from, and price. I have plenty of time to decide, though. Up north, the snow is still on the ground right now and I will have to wait until April or May to get both the boat and motor. More pennies to be saved to get better stuff. @@crappiemastertv3847
Very smart. Your little boat and motor is both affordable and manageable.

GRANT KEEL I always use two batteries even with the outboard
Where is the transducer for the depth finder mounted?
Trolling motor head
I have a friend who recently tolld me, "I'm not as dumb as people think."
I replied, "I'm sure glad about that."
Lol
Awesome!!!
Topwater Explosion thanks for the Love
Where would you say your prop is located in relation to the bottom of your boat? I have the Sportsman 10 which is basically a rebranded Pond Prowler and went with a 15” shaft Honda outboard but the prop sits about flush with the bottom of the boat. I read somewhere it should be 2” below the bottom. Any idea?
I have the same problem. I have a short shaft. Works but catches air from time to time. Thinking of selling everything and buying a small Jon boat
Agreed. You might be able to sell it on FB marketplace or trade it
Great video man! Can you provide any link for the seats?
Thanks

What is the purpose for the pipe insulation on the poles? Thanks
In small boats like this you almost always drop a rod overboard. Insulation allows them to float. No rod loss🤣
I'm not sure how much your outboard weighs but I got a 4 stroke 4hp outboard designed from a weed eater motor. You can buy them pre-made for around $300. It's around 20lb so super light for loading off and on. Pushes my two man boat pretty nicely.
Would love to see it
Good lord. By the time he's done setting up the boat I could be done fiahinf at at home frying them up
Yep
Marco Roman that sounds about right. I’ve never fished a kayak but I wouldn’t trade my Pond Prowler. It’s a great little boat
@@crappiemastertv3847
denrizza gotcha
Recommend max outboard on a Pond Prowler 2?
I believe it’s 3.5hps
Dude, is it me or is the motor on the back on backwards? Just wondering. And where is the fuel tank?
I turned it around. It was just the way it was sitting when I mounted it
I believe if you have less than a 5hp motor you have to turn it around to put it in reverse. So they can go on backwards.
For the gas motor. I think he’s talking about the trolling motor
